Abstract

Introduction: The first five years of a child's life are a time of peak development. According to the global prevalence, 52.9 million children under the age of five suffer from developmental problems. Parental involvement in monitoring their children's development will rise if parents have greater education, have a high level of knowledge, higher socioeconomic level, income, and the mother does not work. In addition, toddlers with good nutritional status will optimise their development. Objective: This literature review aims to identify how maternal characteristics and nutritional status impact toddler development. Method: This study is a systematic review by searching the literature through Google Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed. Articles in Indonesian and English published from 2016 to 2022. Article searches used keywords or Boolean operators (AND - OR), some of the keywords used to search the literature included combinations of “development” OR “education” OR “income”’ OR “knowledge” OR “occupation” OR “nutritional status”, “education” AND “development”, “income” AND “development”, “knowledege” AND “development”, “occupation” AND “development”, “nutritional sataus” AND “development”. Result: The results of this study showed that maternal characteristics such as education level, knowledge, occupation, and family income, as well as nutritional status affect the development of toddlers. Conclusion: Knowing the interaction between maternal role and nutritional status can help optimise the development of toddlers according to their age.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gizi utama yang masih banyak di Indonesia. Prevalensi stunting yang tinggi menjadi ancaman terhadap kesejahteraan dan ketahanan nasional jangka panjang. Menurut hasil survei Status Gizi Indonesia (SSGI) 2022 prevalensi stunting sebesar 21,6% sedangkan target prevalensi stunting pada tahun 2024 yaitu 14% dan target WHO yaitu kurang dari 20%. Penanggulangan stunting di Indonesia dilakukan dengan berpedoman kepada Perpres No.72 Tahun 2021 tentang Strategi Nasional Percepatan Penurunan Stunting melalui intervensi spesifik berupa pemberian makanan tambahan (PMT) lokal kepada balita stunting. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan menambah wawasan mengenai bagaimana pemanfaatan makanan tambahan berpangan lokal diberbagai daerah dalam upaya Penanggulangan stunting di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan systematic review menggunakan metode PRISMA. Pemilihan artikel sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi serta pencariannya melalui database Google scholar dengan kata kunci “PMT pangan lokal, Status Gizi, Balita Stunting”. Artikel yang dilakukan review dari tahun 2020-2024 dan didaptkan 12 artikel yang dilakukan review. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian makanan tambahan (PMT) berbasis pangan lokal mempengaruhi peningkatan berat badan (BB) dan tinggi badan (TB) pada balita stunting, Jika diberikan selama minimal 30 hari. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa bahwa pemberian makanan tambahan pangan lokal pada balita seperti tempe, tahu, Udang rebon, ikan patin dan kelor yang diolah menjadi makanan seperti bubur ikan, nugget, otak-otak dan bakso selama 30 hari hingga 90 hari dapat menjadi salah satu cara penurunan stunting.

Abstract

Indonesia is heavily dependent on the agricultural industry, which is one of the primary pillars of the country's economy, hence food security is very crucial. Since the majority of people work in agriculture, ensuring there is a sufficient supply of food is essential to preserving social and economic stability. Furthermore, Indonesia's geographical and cultural diversity poses particular difficulties in addressing the various dietary requirements of its many areas. In light of climate change, natural disasters, and other global issues that may have an impact on food supply, food security is also a strategic consideration. The project aims to (1) assess the degree of susceptibility of Indonesia's food system to climate change and (2) develop solutions for adaptation and mitigation that may be put into practice to enhance food security in the face of these consequences. This study provides an organized overview of food dynamics in the context of climate change and how it affects Indonesia. The literature from prestigious national and international journal articles is one of the research data sources. The findings demonstrate how difficult it is to comprehend how climate change is affecting Indonesia's food supply, which emphasizes how complicated the problems are. Farmers have put adaptation plans into place, but resource access and climate unpredictability still present obstacles. Climate change has an impact on the national economy and export-related activities. Therefore, to attain both economic stability and food security, comprehensive support and integrated policies are required. To meet the difficulties of climate change in the agricultural sector, farmers' adaptation methods, cross-sectoral cooperation, and access to climate information are essential.

Abstract

Background: Nutritional anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin level in the blood is below normal. Anemia education is very important because there are still many young women who do not know about anemia. This activity aims to increase knowledge about balanced nutrition and anemia among young women in Menanti Village. Methods: This activity is in collaboration with the Head of Menanti Village, Kec. Kelekar Muara Enim Regency with a total of 36 participants, using lecture and discussion methods. The activities carried out are measuring knowledge and providing education using the lecture method. Results: Nutrition and anemia education activities in Menanti Village, Kelekar District, Muara Enim Regency were carried out on Tuesday 11 June 2024 for 36 young women. Conclusion: Community service activities by lecturers at the FKM Nutrition Study Program at Sriwijaya University in the form of nutritional education regarding anemia in young women using leaflets as a medium increase female students' knowledge regarding anemia. Knowledge about applying the principles of balanced nutrition is one of the efforts to prevent anemia from an early age in adolescents.

Abstract

Background: Salah satu faktor penyebab anemia adalah kurangnya asupan zat besi, terutama yang berasal dari sumber hewani, karena kebutuhan zat besi cenderung meningkat pada masa remaja. Defisiensi besi walaupun belum disertai anemia defisiensi besi dan anemia ringan sudah cukup menimbulkan gejala seperti lesu, lemah, letih, lelah dan lalai (5L). Hal ini diakibatkan oleh menurunnya kadar oksigen yang dibutuhkan oleh jaringan tubuh, termasuk otot untuk aktivitas fisik dan otak untuk berpikir. Metode: Metode pelaksanan dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Pegayut pada kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan mengenai faktor penyebab anemia pada remaja menggunakan media menggunakan media Power Point dan Kegiatan permainan Traffic Light Nutrition Card. Hasil: Setelah dilakukan kegiatan penyuluhan tentang Cegah Anemia Masa Remaja dengan permainan edukasi Traffic Light Nutrition Card pengetahuan dan sikap pada remaja mengalami peningkatan. Perubahan ini menandakan bahwa intervensi yang diberikan memiliki dampak positif Kesimpulan: Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap dimana persentase responden yang memiliki kategori baik semakin meningkat setelah kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan.

Abstract

Background: Kekurangan gizi pada balita, terutama stunting, masih menjadi tantangan di negara berkembang, terutama selama 1.000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK). Stunting menyebabkan gangguan pertumbuhan pada balita, dengan indikator tinggi badan yang lebih pendek dari teman seusianya. Di Desa Sungai Gerong, Kecamatan Banyuasin I, angka stunting tinggi dan ibu-ibu kurang memahami hygiene sanitasi serta pemberian MP-ASI yang tepat. Pola makan buruk, kebersihan lingkungan yang kurang, dan keterbatasan akses informasi kesehatan menjadi kendala utama. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu-ibu tentang hygiene sanitasi dan penyediaan MP-ASI sehat, serta mengedukasi masyarakat tentang pentingnya pemanfaatan ikan dan sayuran lokal untuk mencegah stunting dan malnutrisi. Metode: Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sungai Gerong Banyuasin I dengan metode penyuluhan mengenai hygiene sanitasi, dan MP-ASI. Hasil: Terjadi peningkatan pada hasil posttest bahwa pendekatan edukasi kesehatan memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam menciptakan perubahan perilaku yang positif. Kesimpulan: Penyuluhan gizi yang diberikan selama lomba membantu peserta memahami pentingnya pemilihan bahan pangan lokal yang kaya nutrisi, seperti ikan dan sayuran, serta cara mengolahnya menjadi MP-ASI yang sehat dan bergizi. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek gizi, tetapi juga memberikan kesadaran tentang pentingnya pemberian makanan yang tepat untuk mencegah masalah gizi.

Abstract

Background: Currently, there is an increase in public awareness and interest in consuming functional foods as part of a healthy lifestyle. People tend to be more interested in food products that not only meet basic nutritional needs but also provide additional health benefits, such as disease prevention. Understanding the complex factors that influence functional food preferences in society is very necessary to develop efforts to improve public health.Objective: To determine the determinants of functional food consumption preferences in society and their implications for efforts to improve public health.Method:  This research was prepared using a Systematic Review design with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) approach. The data used as a reference for this research comes from international scientific publications in the PubMed, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight and Taylor & Francis databases. The data search process was carried out using relevant keywords such as Functional Food, Consumption, Preferences, Public Health, Factor, and Determinant. This combination of keywords is applied using boolean operators. The articles collected are articles published in the 2019-2023 period.Results: A systematic review of a synthesis of 11 selected articles shows that functional food consumption preferences in society are influenced by various complex factors, including demographic aspects, food choice motives, living situations, economic factors, health perceptions, sensory, psychological and lifestyle characteristics. These preferences have significant implications for efforts to improve public health.Conclusion: Determinants of functional food consumption preferences include demographic aspects, food choice motives, living situations, economic factors, health perceptions, sensory, psychological characteristics and lifestyle.KeywordsFunctional food consumption, functional food preferences, public health

Abstract

Penting untuk mengenalkan pendidikan, termasuk perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, kepada anak sejak dini agar kebiasaan tersebut terbawa hingga dewasa. Salah satu wadah untuk menerapkan hal ini adalah di lingkungan sekolah, yang dikenal sebagai Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS). Penting bagi orangtua untuk mengetahui apakah program PHBS diterapkan dengan baik di sekolah agar anak terbiasa menjaga kesehatan, mengurangi risiko penyakit, dan meningkatkan kesehatan secara keseluruhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah literatur mengenai penyuluhan perilaku PHBS pada siswa sekolah dasar sebagai upaya peningkatan pengetahuan dalam menjaga kebersihan diri dan lingkungan PHBS sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review dengan mengikuti alur Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Data dihimpun dari database Google Scholar, PubMed, dan Science Direct menggunakan kata kunci "Penyuluhan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat Pada Siswa Sekolah Dasar”.

Abstract

Background: Speech and language delay is a condition in which a child's speech and language abilities do not meet age-appropriate developmental expectations. Without timely intervention, such delays may lead to more significant disorders, including developmental language disorders and learning difficulties upon reaching school age. Interactive parent-child engagement plays a critical role in promoting speech and language development and in preventing delays among typically developing children.Method: This systematic review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. The process involved analyzing online articles published between 2020 and 2024, sourced from ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar, using the keywords "parent-child interaction" and "language and speech development".Result: Eight relevant studies were reviewed and analyzed. The findings consistently highlight the significant role of parent-child interactions in preventing speech and language delays. Parents contribute not only to supporting age-appropriate development but also to identifying potential delays or abnormalities early, thereby enabling timely intervention. Reciprocal interactions provide children with meaningful experiences that foster language acquisition. Shared activities such as reading together offer children opportunities to imitate, create narratives, and receive corrective feedback from parents on aspects such as articulation and intonation.

Abstract

Background: The excessive of screen time use among early childhood has become a phenomenon. In Indonesia, early childhood that has used screen time is around 68.01% for watching television, 33.44% using cellphones, and 24.96% have accessed the internet. The use of screen time among early childhood should be reduced because it can affect children to have lower nutrition that can lead to malnutrition and other metabolic disease. Method: This research method uses literature review with a narrative approach. The reference article was conducted on databases in Google Schoolar and PubMed. Results: The impact of excessive screen time use on early childhood’s eating behavior can cause the unhealthy food consumption and picky eating. This behavior will affect children to have lower nutrition that can lead to malnutrition and other metabolic disease. Conclusion: The use of excessive screen time on early childhood can impact the child’s eating behavior.
