Abstract

An application to compile rations for cattles' meals was developed by a student of Brawijaya University ini 2015. This application is a web-based application that formulate cattles' meal from two kinds of ingredients, that is forage ingredients and concentrate ingredients, to fulfill the daily nutrition or to increase the weight of a cow. The application that is called SunRan (Susun Ransum) used Yii framework in its development. The developer of the application felt that a development for the mobile version in needed. The need encourages the writer to develop the SunRan on a mobile platform. This mobile version of SunRan uses Ionic framework which has a function for developing applications in hybrid system, which is a ixture of system based on website and native. The operating system used to run SunRan Mobile is Android OS. It's done because this operating system is the most opoular operating system, especiallly in Asia, where there are still a lot of people working on a ranch for cows and goats. Besides being used to compile rations for cow's meal, the writer is also adding a new object that hasn't included in the web-based SunRan before, the object is goat. The tests for this mobile application is done twice to prove if the web-based SunRan can be developed into a mobile-based application with an addition of a new object and an utilization of a different framework.

Abstract

One of the difficulties is how the deaf can inform the sign language used and can be understood by people who can hear so deaf people can communicate, interact, socialize, make friends, and dialogue occurs in everyday social. Sign language is used in the daily lives of people with hearing and speech impaired.Applications "DekatTuli" designed to help reduce the difficulties faced by the deaf and mute. Applications "DekatTuli" This provides a method Learning to Communicate in the form of Indonesian Sign Language for the deaf and speech impaired quickly and practical for using the means of Android- based applications on smartphone devices. Applications Functional testing has been done with each of the test cases have been tested and properly, with the result declared all valid. Usability testing is obtained from a very satisfactory result for analysis of the application "DekatTuli" to achieve an average score of 96%.

Abstract

Messaging applications with the internet today is often done by mobile devices users for communicating. However, messaging applications that use the internet, especially in UB campus environment have problems. Wi-Fi users and internet access needs in large campus environments are often mobile devices can only connect with Wi-Fi only and log into a campus intranet network without being able to access the internet. So in this research, messaging application developed that can be used on intranet network of UB campus without using internet connection. This research used pull messaging method with the server placed in the Faculty of Computer Science Brawijaya University. We then tested the usability level using the Questionnaire System Usability Scale (SUS) and availability level. The results showed the value of SUS testing is 84.67% and availability score is 100%. From the results of usability and availability testing showed that this messaging application has a good usability level and can run on the condition both the internet is available or not available

Abstract

Faculty of Computer Science is one of the faculty in Brawijaya University Malang which runs its business process using website based system. The system called FILKOM APPS has operated to handle the academic process. However, the existence of the system is still less than optimal and has not adjusted the needs of current users, namely the need for a mobile device-based system. Because users more often use mobile devices to use the system and when the user feels the display of this system is less to adjust the display on mobile devices, thus making the user difficulty in accessing the system through their mobile device. Therefore the need for systems that can run on mobile devices to match the needs of today's users. The development of mobile device-based systems uses a prototyping development cycle with an object-oriented approach. The development of this mobile device based system is only done on the android operating system and using the native mobile device development approach. The results obtained from this research in the form of design and implementation of the system that can adjust the needs of users today. In designing this system consists of activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, class diagrams and physical data model. Applications that are based on the design of the resulting application that runs well through validation and security testing.

Abstract

Tracer study system is a system that connects students who have graduated from educational institution with their friends who have graduated, which call as alumni. Alumni can give each other information about job vacancy to other alumni, the alumni can also provide information on current alumni work. Alumni can view information on alumni's work as well, then alumni can also provide educational information and view educational information that has been filled by the alumni themselves.There is no application that helps in the process of tracer study conducted in Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB), make the author the initiative in the process of developing mobile tracer study application using Android platform. This study uses prototyping SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle), which is written on the script of this thesis is the last prototype, or the final prototype. By using the firebase and Android platform, it is expected that the tracer study system can assist in the process of tracer study in FILKOM UB, with the result of the usability test is 80.625 (in range 0 - 100) included in the qualification is good enough, the result of functionality and compatibility generated by tracer study application capable of achieving perfect value on nougat and marsmallow operating system.

Abstract

Public complaints reporting application for Malang city is an e-complaint application that utilizes GPS and geotagging technology. The application was developed to report various problems that occurred in various fields in Malang. User experience is an important factor for the success of e-complaint. This study aims to design the user experience for public complaints reporting application for Malang city. Evaluation using usability testing and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) is done to measure the user experience level and to know the problem about user experience from application design that has been built. Some of the problems are the menus that was not successfully found by users and user's incomprehension to use application features. After the initial evaluation is done then do redesign as solutions of user experience problems on the old design. The comparison of usability value of old application design and new design obtained significant difference that is equal to 48.98%. The comparison of UEQ benchmark scale also can be seen that the scale of attractiveness and perspicuity change from the category of “bad” into “good”, on the scale of efficiency, dependability, and stimulation change from the category of “bad” into “excellent”, and on novelty scale change from the category “below average” into “excellent”. Thus, it can be concluded that the design solution gives a more positive perception in terms of user experience and better in terms of usability.

Abstract

During the period of 2013 to 2015, the mortality rate of pregnant women and infants in Malang Regency is still high. Based on data obtained from the Health Office of Malang Regency, 2013 until 2015 on average as many as 125 babies and 15 pregnant women die every year. PUSKESMAS as one of the health worker has done its best to help reduce AKI(Maternal Mortality Rate) in Malang Regency. But in the process of implementation, PUSKESMAS often encounter obstacles in the data collection of pregnant women. In fact, data collection is still using manual method so that it can cause difficulties in data collection and checking. In addition, if there is an emergency condition which requires the PUSKESMAS to take action, it is often encountered an obstacle in finding the patient's address because of poorly recorded rural road conditions. Whereas at that time it takes time and action as effectively as possible to avoid events that can be fatal to the safety of mother and child. Solutions that can be used by PUSKESMAS by utilizing technology in doing data collection to pregnant mother that is by making information system that can record pregnant woman who do control. PUSKESMAS midwife can also do data collection of pregnant women using location based service technology, making it easier for PUSKESMAS to find the location of the patient's house.

Abstract

E-Payment is a payment system that uses internet facility as a medium of intermediary. Nowadays many start-up business that facilitate seller and giving a guaranteed safety transaction. Many activities that can be done easily via mobile devices, including payment activites. EzyPay is an online payment application to help people get payment transactions and bill payments. EzyPay is downloaded more than 10,000 times by users via Playstore. Rating obtained by EzyPay application on Playstore reached 3.9 for version 1.0.24. The common problems found are, the designs and the elements in the EzyPay application are inconsistent so it complicate the user. To improve and finding the usability problem specifically needed the process of User Interface design with a method of Heuristic Evaluation (HE). This evaluation and design in order to increase the number of user that downloaded, used, also to increase the ease when using EzyPay application. Problems found in the evaluation of first phase found 26 problems with 5 similar problems. In the second phase of evaluation 2 found a fewer problem that is 8 problems. The problems in the first phase of evaluation were not found in the second phase of evaluation. Therefore, the problems in the first phase evaluation have been successfully improved. This research to produce a problems analytical and giving an appropriate recommendation for developer to improvement also high-fidelity prototype as a solution idea.

Abstract

In a public health institution, information flow is one of the most important things, especially to the medical personnel. Patient information, inpatient room information, and operation schedule are some of the most crucial information that a medical personnel has to acquire. Rumah Sakit XYZ is no exception, with a total of more than 200 medical personnel, the information flow to and from the medical person must be able to be accessed quickly and accurately. However there is not yet a platform for the medical personnel of Rumah Sakit XYZ to easily access basic information such as inpatient information, visitation, and operation. That is why, to help improve the business process in Rumah Sakit XYZ, and to give an insight as to the implementation of a solution for other health institution with a similar business process, an Android based information system for inpatient, visitation, and operation for medical personnel is built. The result of this system's implementation includes the fulfilment of all the functional requirement based on the requirement analysis, and the usability score of 79.5 based on the survey results to respondents usability testing using the SUS ( System Usability Scale) method, which means the system is in the Acceptable category.

Abstract

Cleaners VIP Laundry is a laundry business operated in Malang which has conventional business process despite it's uncommon service offered such as laundry truck. Based on analysis, there are some issues found related to customer. Lost transaction note, due payments and pickups, difficulties in delivery, wrong address, or utterly not doing delivery. The laundry often take manual solution and rely much on human capabilities such as memory. Cleaners VIP Laundry also exerts on building networks to it's customers. Therefore, the offered solution is to build an Android-based laundry's customer information system which has mobile features along with web-based administration information system on it's sideline. The information system is built under prototyping method. Business process analysis is helped with BPMN. Prototypes are made at design phase to represent the application and evaluated by the stakeholders. The implementation process is done using Android studio and web programming languages. Database is created under MySQL database management system and integrated via webservice under JSON format. On testing phase, two blackbox testing method, validation and usability testing were used. This research produces an informaton system that can be used to reduces issues on Cleaners VIP Laundry Malang.
