Abstract

With the existence of a smartphone allows everyone to communicate both verbal and non-verbal easier and can be done anytime and anywhere. However, people with visual impairments who have problems in a visual context feels difficult to operate a smartphone with a touch and flat screen. To overcome the problems experienced by visual impairments people in communicating using a smartphone, this research carried out a development of verbal communication applications for a voice calls that are also able to handle telephone contact management such as adding, changing contact data, and deleting a contact. This application is also designed specifically by using voice interaction that utilizes the Google API and allowing users to control the application by using voice and the feedback is also by voice. This application is design by using Human Centered Design (HCD) approach, which always involved the user in the development process. Based on usability testing using System Usability Scale (SUS), obtaining an average value of 86 which indicates the quality of the application is already at an "excellent" rating and is already considered easy to use by users. The quality of the voice interaction service provided in the application has also been tested to have good quality, which is shown based on the average value of 4.2 obtained from the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) testing.

Abstract

The monitoring and evaluation process the results of supervisory activities at Malang City Education Office is done manually. Monitoring process is submitting the results of supervisor activities and supporting data in a document (hardcopy). Evaluating process of supervisor activities result is submitting SKP document that must be transferred to the spreadsheet for the next process. This condition is inefficient and can cause problems like loss of data or files. For this reason, an Information System for Monitoring and Evaluating the Results of Supervisor Activities was developed to help and facilitate the monitoring and evaluation process so the data was organized. The system is built with the waterfall development method and implemented on the website platform. System development has through several stages, they are identifying problems, studying literature, collecting data on system development materials, modeling business processes with BPMN, analyzing requirements, designing with Unified Modeling Language, implementing using the CodeIgniter framework, and system testing with validation testing, compatibility testing, and usability testing. From all of these stages, the results is the system needs 17 features, the result of validation test is “valid” that indicates the system work well like its functionality, the results of compatibility test is “compatible” for all types of browsers that indicates the system can work on several types of browsers, and the result of usability testing is 80.62 that indicates the information system interface is easy to use and friendly for user.

Abstract

Database system for recording student achievement in Education Office of Malang is still constrained and is not efficient. Data collection cannot be done optimally because data collection is still semi-automatic. Of course this has limitations, and have an impact on the timing of submitting student performance reports that are not real-time, unavailable presentation of student achievement data that is easily accessible, and storage of disorganized achievement data. Unorganized data storage makes employees was constrained in finding data and can risk losing data. With the existence of these problems, it is necessary to have a system that can help the process of collecting student achievement. The research on the development of Student Achievement Information Systems (SIMPRES) was conducted to help Malang City Education Agency in collecting student achievement data. System development is done using the waterfall method. Then to ensure that the system is in accordance with user requirements, the system is tested using validation testing, compatibility testing, and usability testing methods. The results of this system test are valid in testing validation testing, compatible with all browsers through compatibility testing, and obtain 81 in grade B through usability testing which means the system is easy to use by the user.

Abstract

Based on Permen PAN-RB No.16 Tahun 2009, teacher promotion systems are calculated using credit grades, which are calculated according to the workload and activities of the teacher in the assessment period. In each period the number of submissions can reach hundreds. Every single data must go through the process of checking the completeness and validity of files, as well as the recapitulation manually. This conditions are felt to be very inefficient and waste a lot of time. Therefore an information system is needed to deal with the problem. The process of checking and recapitulation can be facilitated by using the Sistem Informasi Penetapan Angka Kredit Guru that is built using the waterfall method and implemented on the website platform. Furthermore, testing is carried out using validation testing, compatibility testing, and usability testing. The results of validation testing that have been done show that the system can work properly according to its functionality. As for the results of compatibility testing, the system can run well on several different browser versions. Then from the results of usability testing, shows that the system gets B grades which means it can be easily used by the user.

Abstract

General elections are one of the most vital elements In democracies country, because measuring democratically a country depends on the general elections held by the country. In campaigns political parties are still enchant their support with ‘dangdut' and prizes and only a little talk about idea, their focus is to familiarize voters with party symbols and numbers on letters. At present the people are able to assess the performance of the political elite by looking at the phenomenon of corruption and abuse of power indicated by the court. But it cannot be one only fault of the organizers and the government because there is also ignorance of the people who voted without influencing the background, achievements and track record of the participants they chose. This research aims to design an application for info legislative candidates with good user experience and is expected to provide easy information about legislative candidates to the public. The method used in this research is human centered design for designing user experience and elements of user experience for the design phase. After analyzing the context of use and user needs, the solution design will be continued. Solution design evaluation uses a heuristic evaluation method that involves 3 experts as evaluators. From the evaluation results, 17 problems were listed based on the highest average severity ratings. Where one of the problems is included in a major problem which has a high priority of improvement. The results obtained from this study are the application design in the form of a prototype and design recommendations for improving the design of the application in further development.

Abstract

The general election of legislative candidates in Indonesia is the biggest election and being a spotlight of the world. There were 14,556 reports related to the legislative elections and 3,318 or 23 percent regarding election violations, such as gratuities, bribery, vote inflating, political money, administrative violation, and deceptive news. Even in campaigning it still contain political money and invalid information. The campaign media using banner, and a piece of paper as well as still unable to get to know the legislative candidates more closely. Nowadays, the gamification method is considered very effective in attracting people to be more interactive and consumptive in using the application. Some elements in gamification method which are points, bagdes, levels and ranking have also been implemented in various domains such as training, education, health and other. The development model with a hybrid approach is also currently very popular because it saves energy, time, cost, and can be implemented in two different platforms which are Android and iOS. To overcome these problems, researcher developed an information legislative candidates application by applying the concept of gamification and hybrid approach using the Ionic Framework. From the research result, founded an usability value of 80.5% which indicates that the application can be well received by the user, then the compatibility value of 100% in 3 different platform experiment, which means the hybrid approach runs well, and based on the average of the user's answer from the question of a positive SUS questionnaire of 92.8% and a negative SUS questionnaire of 44%.

Abstract

Tabloidjubi is a web based news portal originated from Papua Island that publishes National and International news. The increasing of smartphone usage makes Tabloidjubi developed a mobile application. One of the most important aspects of mobile application development is user experience which is useful for user success and user satisfaction when using the application. This research intends to design Tabloidjubi's user experience based on the problems found in the first evaluation. Evaluation method that carried out in this research is heuristic evaluation. The designing of user experience using human centered design method will be held after the problems from the first evaluation are identified. Some of problems found on the first evaluation are intricate categorization and the absence of user features. There is 25 total problems found in the first evaluation. On the second evaluation there is less problems found with total of 5 different problems that differ from the first problems found in the first evaluation. Thus, the problems found in the first evaluation have been successfully solved. The outcome of this research are identification and analysis of the usability problems and advanced design recommendation in the form of high-fidelity prototype as the representation of the given solution.

Abstract

The majority of catering currently provide menus in a package and every nutrient and calorie on each package menu has been measured every day. Some katering people don't eat their lunch because one of the factors is not using some food in the package menu that day. This makes students sluggish all day because they do not lack energy for learning activities. By using it, it is necessary to do a new solution that can be used for special users for the right delivery. Mastery of user experience is needed so that the development of the application will get the results of user experience with a good level of success and satisfaction. Human-centered Design (HCD) is an interactive approach that aims to create a system that can be used properly and efficiently. The results of design testing with usability testing get results of 96.39% and the results of evaluation of User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) on the recording of user experience katering applications get a positive value and get a very good category on aspects of attraction, perspectivity, efficiency, dependence, stimulation and novelty. Thus, it can be concluded that design provides a positive perception in terms of user experience and both in terms of usability.

Abstract

Disaster is an event that can cause the destruction of society due to natural or human factors, it can cause impacts such as environmental damage, loss of life, property and psychological. The high number of natural disasters in Indonesia is a serious problem that must be resolved immediately to overcome the problem of disasters. With the development of mobile technology that accelerates, the use of technology that can be used by the public to share information about disasters, share information about locations and geospatial information using geotagging features and push notifications in real time. In addition, applications that use the Android platform will be developed in this study (Kitana) using crowdsourcing feature where disaster information can be immediately disbursed from other users. And use the BMKG API (Application Programming Interface) for disaster information. The technique used in this study is prototyping. Furthermore, the tests carried out are validation, unit testing, usability testing using SUS (System Usability Scale) as an instrument, and testing the performance of the push notification feature. Functional testing's results are valid and the application runs according to the user needs. Usability testing that produces a value of 73.5 where the value includes both good and successful categories. While the performance test of 10 test cases produces an average value of 1.6103 seconds, which means the system meets the real time criteria.

Abstract

Natural disasters are a series of events caused by nature that can lead to human casualties, environmental damage, property losses, and psychological impacts. The Android-based crowdsourcing application for natural disasters (Kitana) utilizes information from various circles of society regarding natural disasters both before and after a disaster. This study aims to design how a good user experience can be achieved by users when using the Kitana. The approach or method that used in designing a user experience is Human-Centered Design (HCD). After collecting a list of user needs and tasks, the solution design will be produced, the form of the solution design is a wireframe, information architecture and screenflow that was carried out as the path of the application prototype. By using a high-fidelity prototype, then usability evaluation of solution design was carried out using cognitive walkthrough with users and produced several problem findings, where the findings would be corrected and re-evaluated using the same method (cognitive walkthrough with users) and referring to 4 (four) cognitive walkthrough questions. The results of this study are the suitability of user experience design using HCD and usability evaluation using cognitive walkthrough with users resulting in a 76% increase in usability and user experience.
