Abstract

One of the texts with nuanced meanings is an advertisement. When discussing how to effectively convey messages in advertisements, the complexity of meaning encompasses both written and visual components. To understand the power and meaning of a text that contains multiple modes, such as verbal, visual, and aural, a multimodal analysis of an advertisement is necessary to understand the complexities of meaning. The research aims to examine the multimodal resources in the Loreal x Cinta Laura Khiel advertisement on YouTube based on five semiotic multimodal systems proposed by Anstey &Bull (2018). This research utilizes both qualitative and descriptive techniques. The information was obtained as a picture derived from a screenshot of a YouTube commercial. The outcome depicts five components of the multimodal system in this advertisement: verbal, visual, auditory, gestural, and spatial. These five factors are mutually beneficial for communicating messages from the Loreal advertisement on Loreal Official YouTube and advertising and marketing this smart application.

Abstract

The petitioner filed a request for the determination of lineage to ensure the child's rights are fulfilled. Based on legal considerations, the Judge granted the request by considering the evidence presented, such as letters and witness testimonies. Legal facts indicate that the children were born from the lawful marriage of Petitioner I and II, thus they are eligible to be recognized as legitimate children. This chapter discusses the research findings and discussion regarding the background of the implementation of marriage reformation/tajdid nikah and the submission of requests for the determination of child's lineage in case No. 115/Pdt.P/2023/PA.PN at the Religious Court of Painan. The research method used by the researcher is a legal approach (state approach) with descriptive-analytical specifications in the case decision: 115/Pdt.P/2023/PA.PN. Results. Firstly, the reformation of marriage in Case 115/Pdt.P/2023/PA.PN is based on reasons that align with religious and governmental regulations, such as the previous marriage being terminated due to the waiting period (iddah), for administrative validity, and the marriage being conducted solely for the official record from the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). Secondly, the background of the submission of the request for the determination of child's lineage is because Petitioner I and II had a secret marriage in 2015, were blessed with 2 children, their effort for formalizing the marriage was rejected, then they officially registered their marriage in 2023. The aim is to ensure the fulfillment of the children's rights such as birth certificates and education. Thirdly, in deciding the case of the child's lineage, the judge's consideration is based on juridical, philosophical, and sociological aspects, taking into account the fulfillment of the rights and welfare of the child.

Abstract

Syringic acid and phenazine possess antibiotic and antifungal properties, and have demonstrated effectiveness in inhibiting the colonization of Ganoderma boninense on oil palm plants. Some bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain G-111-0317, are capable of producing syringic acid and phenazine. In this study, the culture extract of this bacterial strain was obtained from healthy oil palm plants growing in G. boninense-infected areas at Oil Plant Plantation Pematang Siantar, North Sumatra. The strain was cultured on Nutrient Broth (NB) medium, and the resulting culture filtrate was extracted using ethyl acetate (EtOAc) and concentrated under vacuum. The putative compounds were identified by LC-MS, employing syringic acid and phenazine as reference standards. Antifungal activity against G. boninense in vitro was observed in the EtOAc extract obtained after 8 hours and 24 hours of fermentation, with the 8-hour extract demonstrating the highest activity. These compounds hold promising potential as active agents in inhibiting basal stem rot disease in oil palm plants.

Abstract

The recognition of Arabic vocabulary in early childhood education is a vital component in fostering foundational language skills, yet remains constrained by limited access to effective learning media. This study aims to develop animated video media using the Macromedia Flash application to support Arabic vocabulary acquisition among early learners in preschool settings. Utilizing a research and development approach with a modified 4-D modelÔÇöfocusing on the define, design, and develop stagesÔÇöthe study employed expert validation sheets and teacher response questionnaires to evaluate the mediaÔÇÖs validity and practicality. The animated video, themed around school equipment, was designed to promote vocabulary learning through engaging visual narratives. The media attained a high validity score of 89.33% in terms of construct, content, and language, and a 90% practicality rating from educators, indicating its relevance and applicability in classroom contexts. These findings affirm that the developed animated video is both valid and practical, offering a promising tool for enhancing Arabic vocabulary instruction in early childhood education.┬á┬á
