Abstract

The combustion of coal in power plants (PLTU) generates fly ash containing silica dioxide (SiO?) and alumina (Al?O?), which exhibit promising properties as adsorptive materials. Fly ash, typically regarded as an industrial by-product, has been widely explored for its application as an adsorbent in wastewater purification. One of the most challenging wastewaters is acid mine drainage, characterized by strong acidity (pH < 5), residual contaminants, and elevated concentrations of heavy metal ions such as manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe). When released untreated, this effluent poses significant risks to both surface and groundwater quality in mining areas. This study focuses on the characterization and utilization of fly ash as an adsorbent to neutralize acidity and reduce Mn and Fe concentrations in acid mine drainage. The material was characterized using SEM-EDX and XRD techniques, followed by adsorption experiments. To enhance its properties, fly ash underwent physical activation through heating at 100 °C for 60 minutes. The activation process modified its structure, expanding pore volume and increasing surface area, thereby improving adsorption performance. The experimental results revealed significant differences in the properties of fly ash before and after activation. Activated fly ash effectively raised the pH of acid mine drainage to near-neutral conditions while achieving removal efficiencies of 96.61% for Mn and 83.33% for Fe using 50 g of adsorbent. These findings highlight the potential of fly ash as a low-cost and effective material for acid mine drainage treatment, both for acidity control and heavy metal removal.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between time management and academic achievement of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) students at the Indonesian Christian University of Toraja, and to determine whether role conflict moderates the relationship between time management and academic achievement from the perspective of time management theory and role strain theory. This study uses a quantitative approach with a moderated regression analysis method (MRA). The population in this study were all RPL students at the Indonesian Christian University of Toraja, with a sampling technique using saturated sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents and analyzed using the SEM-Smart PLS program. The results showed that time management had a positive and significant effect on academic achievement of RPL students with a path coefficient of 0.607, T of 3.769, and a p-value of 0.000. This means that the better the student's ability to manage time, the higher the academic achievement achieved. However, role conflict did not act as a moderating variable in the relationship between time management and academic achievement with a path coefficient of 0.180, T of 1.289, and a p-value of 0.197. Thus, the level of role conflict experienced by students does not change the strength or weakness of the influence of time management on academic achievement

Abstract

The increasing complexity of global supply chains and the rapid acceleration of digital transformation have created new challenges for multinational companies, particularly in managing international working capital. Digital disruption has not only reshaped cross-border business operations and transactions but has also intensified liquidity risks, cash flow imbalances, and short-term financial uncertainty. These conditions require global supply chain companies to develop adaptive, integrated, and technology-driven working capital management strategies. This study aims to examine international working capital management strategies implemented by global supply chain companies in the era of digital disruption and to identify their implications for corporate stability and sustainability. The research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach. Data were collected through a systematic review of academic books, scholarly journal articles, and official reports from international institutions relevant to the research topic. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify key patterns, concepts, and findings within the literature. The results reveal four main findings: the importance of efficient management of cash, receivables, and inventories across countries; the strategic role of digitalization and data-driven approaches in enhancing transparency and decision-making speed; the significance of financial coordination among global supply chain actors; and the necessity of financial risk mitigation strategies amid global uncertainty.

Abstract

This study investigates the evaluative language used by Donald Trump in his speech concerning Harvard University’s treatment of foreign students, employing the Attitude system from Appraisal Theory. Focusing on three subsystems such as Affect, Judgement, and Appreciation. This study analyzes how Trump constructs his political persona, positions ideological others, and frames educational policy within nationalist discourse. The data were drawn from transcribed segments of a publicly available speech and analyzed qualitatively using Appraisal Theory as the primary analytical framework. The findings reveal that Judgement was the most dominant Attitude type (44.29%), followed by Appreciation (35.71%) and Affect (20%). Most evaluations (58.57%) were directed toward others (especially institutions and political actors), while the remaining 41.43% targeted the speaker himself. The overall evaluative polarity was predominantly negative (61.43%), with positive evaluations accounting for 38.57% of the data. Trump frequently praised his own leadership capacity while expressing dissatisfaction or moral condemnation toward elite institutions. Notably, this study highlights a rarely examined theme in Trump’s discourse: education policy. By framing foreign students as victims and elite universities as ideologically flawed, Trump repositions the education sector as a site of political contestation. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on political discourse by extending Appraisal analysis into the educational domain, revealing how evaluative meanings shape public narratives beyond traditional themes like war and immigration.
