Abstract

This research aims to understand how Aswaja teachers interpret ikhtilaf in NU-based Aswaja subjects at NU-based Islamic educational institutions in Madura. This research uses a phenomenological approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Phenomenological analysis is used to explore teachers' subjective experiences, then combined with theoretical analysis that refers to Max Weber's theory of social action, specifically the concept  of verstehen and the rationality of value (wertrational), to understand the meaning behind their pedagogical actions. The findings of the study show that ikhtilaf has three main meanings. First, as a general and flexible sunnah practice. Second, as mercy, which is seen as a manifestation of Allah's love for His people. Third, as an organizational identity that gains cultural, structural, and theological legitimacy. This meaning is formed through the process of primary socialization in the family and ngaji teachers, as well as secondary socialization in Islamic boarding schools and the social environment of NU-an. From the perspective of social action, this meaning represents the rationality of values based on obedience to scholars and religious postulates. Therefore, when faced with organizations with different views, Aswaja teachers show an open attitude as long as their religious practices are not disturbed or discredited.

Abstract

Madrasah Teacher Education (PGMI) plays a strategic role in shaping the pedagogical competence, personal character, and social sensitivity of prospective teachers who will directly engage with elementary-level students. However, teacher education curricula still tend to emphasize methodological and cognitive aspects, while affective dimensions Primary and gender awareness have not been systematically integrated. This article aims to examine, first, the conceptualization of a love-based curriculum grounded in gender equality within the context of Primary Madrasah Teacher Education. Second, it explores the genealogy of the idea of a love-based curriculum rooted in gender equality. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research design. Research data were obtained through a review of literature, including books, scholarly journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents. Data collection was conducted through documentation study, while data analysis utilized conceptual analysis and historical (genealogical) analysis through stages of data reduction, concept categorization, critical interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that a love-based curriculum grounded in gender equality in MI teacher education is understood as a pedagogical framework that emphasizes compassion, empathy, justice, and respect for gender differences as the foundation for shaping teachers’ habitus. The genealogy of this idea can be traced from religious teachings on rahmah (compassion), humanistic thought, Paulo Freire’s critical pedagogy, to contemporary feminism, which positions love as a practice of liberation. This article contributes to the discourse on teacher education by emphasizing the importance of integrating affective pedagogy and gender awareness into the PGMI curriculum.

Abstract

The development of digital technology requires Islamic Education (PAI) teachers to create innovative and relevant learning media. This study aims to develop Canva-based PAI learning media and test its feasibility and effectiveness in improving students' motivation and learning comprehension. Canva was selected for its ability to provide engaging visual design features, such as infographics, videos, and interactive teaching materials. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects involved junior high school students. Data were collected through validation questionnaires from material and media experts, classroom observations, and student response questionnaires. The data were then analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results indicate that the Canva-based PAI learning media possesses a very high level of feasibility based on expert assessments. Empirically, the use of this media is proven effective in increasing students' motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding due to its systematic presentation and harmonious visuals. Thus, developing Canva-based media serves as an innovative and practical solution relevant to 21st-century educational demands in enhancing the quality of digital learning. Abstract

The rapid flow of modernity, marked by technological disruption, shifting moral values, and secularism in education, poses a crucial challenge to the existence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Indonesia. The PAI curriculum is often considered too cognitive-textually oriented and insufficiently adaptive to dynamic social realities. This research aims to reconstruct the main components of the PAI curriculum and evaluate relevant development models to address the challenges of the times. This research uses a qualitative approach using library research. Data are analyzed descriptively and analytically using hermeneutical techniques to examine classical and contemporary curriculum concepts. The reconstruction focuses on four main components: (1) Objectives, which must transform from merely theological understanding to the formation of prophetic awareness and life skills; (2) Materials, which interconnectively integrate science and religion; (3) Methods, which adopt a digital-based, student-centered learning approach; and (4) Evaluation, which emphasizes authentic and moral aspects holistically. The study's findings indicate that the centralized (top-down) Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum development model needs to shift toward a more participatory and grassroots-based model to simultaneously accommodate local and global needs. This reconstruction has resulted in a proposed "Humanist-Theocentric" Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum model, in which transcendental values remain the primary foundation, yet are articulated rationally and functionally to address modern challenges such as identity crises, radicalism, and moral degradation. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of developing a flexible curriculum that adheres firmly to the fundamental values of religion, enabling PAI to serve as a moral compass amidst the complexities of modern civilization.

Abstract

This study analyzes the transfer of parental financial responsibility particularly that of the father to underage children from the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah, with the research conducted in Keteguhan Village, Bandar Lampung City. Using a descriptive qualitative field research method, the study finds that the transfer of financial responsibility frequently occurs due to extreme poverty, paternal unemployment, and a lack of parental responsibility. These conditions force children aged 10–17 to work in the informal sector to support their families. In Islamic law, providing for children is an absolute obligation of the father as qawwām, encompassing physical, spiritual, educational, and health needs. The transfer of this obligation is only permissible under emergency conditions, such as when the father is severely ill, incapable, or deceased, in which case the responsibility shifts to close relatives or the state not as a means of relinquishing paternal duty. From the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah, this practice contradicts the principles of protecting life (ḥifẓ al-nafs) and lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl), as it deprives children of their fundamental rights. Therefore, stricter law enforcement, religious education, and strengthened social assistance programs are necessary

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has significantly transformed education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). However, the adoption of technology in PAI often lacks a strong philosophical foundation, which may lead to the erosion of spiritual and ethical values. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, a moderate contemporary scholar (wasathiyah), offers a philosophical perspective that balances technological advancement with spiritual integrity. This study aims to examine Al-Qaradawi’s philosophy of technology and its relevance as an axiological and epistemological foundation for developing contemporary PAI learning media. This research employs a qualitative library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Primary data are derived from Al-Qaradawi’s works, while data analysis uses content analysis to identify key principles of technology in Islamic thought. The findings reveal that Al-Qaradawi’s philosophy is rooted in the concept of tashkhir, where technology serves as a means to achieve maslahah and devotion to God. Its relevance to PAI learning media includes three aspects: integrative (combining faith and digital literacy), ethical (guided by moral awareness), and adaptive (utilizing modern technologies such as AI and VR within Islamic principles). Therefore, technology in PAI should function not only as a tool but also as a medium to strengthen religious understanding and values.
