Abstract

Global economic instability and the increasing complexity of personal financial management demand a more ethical, stable, and sustainable approach. In this context, Islamic economic practitioners propose various innovations to revitalize financial freedom based on the principles of Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah, particularly Ḥifẓ al-Māl. This study aims to analyze the integration of the Ḥifẓ al-Māl principle into financial planning and management and its contribution to improving the financial Wellbeing of individuals and society. The research employs a qualitative case study design, supported by descriptive analysis. Data were obtained from reputable scientific journals, official reports from international institutions, and in-depth interviews with Islamic economics experts and Islamic finance practitioners. Furthermore, statistical data related to financial stability and Islamic investment behavior were used to strengthen the findings. The results show that the application of Islamic principles, particularly the avoidance of gharar, proportional risk management, and commitment to the public interest, contributes to improving individual financial stability by decreasing the risk of default and increasing the accumulation of productive assets. The integration of Hifdz al-Mal also encourages safer, more inclusive, and long-term investment practices, thereby strengthening public trust in the Islamic financial system. This study concludes that consistent implementation of Maqasid al-Shariah can be an effective strategy for building equitable and sustainable financial freedom. The implications of these findings are relevant for individuals, financial institutions, and policymakers in designing financial instruments and programs that respond to the dynamics of the modern economy.

Abstract

In the era of decentralization, the gap between populist political promises and the reality of bureaucratic implementation often hinders regional development. This study aims to analyze the political communication strategy of the Governor of Central Sulawesi, Dr. H. Anwar Hafid, M.Si., in implementing the "Berani Cerdas" free education policy innovation. Employing a qualitative approach with a constructivist-policy analysis design, this research reconstructs Dan Nimmo’s political communication theory by dialoguing it with the concept of the Network Society. Data collection was conducted through process tracing, in-depth interviews, and netnography. The findings indicate that: (1) The Governor successfully transformed from an electoral political actor into a Policy Entrepreneur by leveraging his technocratic track record as credibility capital; (2) The communication strategy employed is hybrid (omni-channel), integrating legal-formal authority, conventional mass media, and digital virality to reach cross-generational audiences; (3) The audience (students) are no longer passive message consumers but act as Network Validators who verify political promises through empirical experience. This study concludes that political communication serves not merely as a branding tool, but as a strategic instrument to enforce bureaucratic performance (bureaucratic enforcer) and mobilize public participation, effectively bridging the gap between political rhetoric and the reality of public services.

Abstract

The contextualization of ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) within the Muslim community has become a crucial issue amid increasing internal fragmentation based on ideology, particularly between Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Salafi. In Pasuruan, differences in religious views and social frictions often create tensions, indicating that ukhuwah is not uniformly understood or practiced but shaped by each group’s ideological construction. This study employs a qualitative approach with a sociological perspective and Alfred Schutz’s social phenomenology. Data were collected through passive participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed phenomenologically through the stages of horizontalization, clustering, textural and structural description, and essence formulation. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The study aims to: (1) describe the conceptual paradigm of ukhuwah islamiyah as understood by NU and Salafi; (2) explore how ukhuwah islamiyah is practiced in the social life of both groups in Pasuruan; and (3) explain the interpretative differences of ukhuwah islamiyah in building social harmony. The findings reveal that NU embraces an inclusive understanding of ukhuwah within the framework of the trilogy of brotherhood—islamiyah, wataniyah, and bashariyah—emphasizing tolerance, intergroup cooperation, and social harmony. In contrast, Salafi interprets ukhuwah exclusively within the boundaries of shared creed and manhaj, restricting social interaction to those with the same orientation. Field practices show complex dynamics: while cooperation exists in activities such as funeral rites (takziah) and communal work (gotong royong), ideological divides continue to weaken solidarity. These findings highlight the importance of multicultural, dialogical, and spiritual approaches to realizing ukhuwah islamiyah as a universal value that transcends sectarian boundaries and strengthens social harmony.

Abstract

The development of the fintech industry, especially the peer to peer (P2P) lending model, is growing very rapidly in Indonesia. Peer to-Peer (P2P) Lending is a mechanism to raise funds through a platform or fintech company, which is then distributed to business actors in the form of loans. This study aims to analyze the practice of peer to peer (P2P) lending in accordance with the fatwa of DSN-MUI No. 117/DSN-MUI/II/2018 and contemporary scholars. This study uses a type of library research and a normative approach with data collection techniques in the form of documentation, while the validity of the data is tested through source triangulation. The results of this study show that the DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 117/DSN-MUI/II/2018 and the views of contemporary scholars affirm that P2P lending is allowed as long as it is in accordance with sharia principles, free of usury, gharar, and maysir, and uses a valid contract under the supervision of the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS).

Abstract

Abstract

Generation Z increasingly engage in doom spending driven by global economic uncertainty, diminished confidence in long-term financial security, and the pervasive influence of digital consumer culture. This behavior undermines individual financial stability and threatens family and societal economic resilience. The rising prevalence of doom spending among Generation Z has become a significant concern, particularly regarding family economic resilience. Consequently, this study reconstructs Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah fī Ḥifẓ al-Māl as a normative and ethical framework to address impulsive, emotion-based consumption among Generation Z couples in the digital economy. Integrating Islamic ethics, psychological coping theory, and contemporary consumption studies, this research employs a qualitative method with descriptive-analytical design. Findings indicate that doom spending negatively impacts family financial stability, exacerbates emotional stress, and conflicts with core Islamic principles including moderation (wasaṭiyyah), contentment (qanā‘ah), and prohibition of extravagance (tabżīr). The study underscores strengthening family economic resilience through digital financial literacy, open financial communication between couples, integration of Islamic consumption values, productive technology utilization, and community-based financial education. By implementing these strategies, Generation Z couples can achieve balanced financial management, enhance household resilience, and align consumption behavior with ethical and spiritual principles. This research contributes to the broader discourse on integrating Islamic value-based approaches into contemporary financial practices and offers a conceptual framework for sustainable, morally responsible household economic management.
