Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine parents' expectations of children's education in the perspective of economic education in Beroanging Village, West Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The informants in this study were parents who had school-age children at the elementary, junior high, high school, and university levels which were determined purposively based on the criteria of parents who had a high level of economic status but low education, parents who had a high level of education, and elderly who have a low level of education and social status. The results of this study indicate that parents' expectations of children's education in the perspective of economic education in Beroanging Village are divided into three, namely the expectations of parents who consider education as an investment are parents who have a low level of education but a high level of economic status, expectations of education as an economic good or consumption are parents who have a low level of education and economic status, and the expectation of education as a consumption good as well as an investment is parents with a high level of education. Keywords: Ekspektasi Orang Tua, Pendidikan Anak, Pendidikan Ekonomi Informal

Abstract

Many factors determine the quality of student learning at the basic education level. Several factors have been studied, but several still need to be studied specifically, resulting in theoretical gaps. This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher creativity, parental guidance, learning methods, and interest in learning on students' learning quality at the basic education level. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach. Informants in this study were 50 parents of students. This research instrument uses a closed questionnaire sheet. Instrument testing is carried out by testing the validity and reliability tests. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the t-test and F-test. The results showed that the variables of teacher creativity, learning methods, and learning interest partially did not significantly affect students' learning quality. Only parental guidance has a significant influence on the quality of student learning. However, when viewed simultaneously, all the independent variables, starting from teacher creativity, parental guidance, learning methods, and interest in learning, significantly affect the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore phenomenologically informal education through the role of parents in providing economic education to children and education in family financial management. This study uses a qualitative approach to phenomenology. The informants in this study were six parents who were heads of families and, based on their profiling, met the requirements for achieving the research objectives. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis techniques are used through the data reduction phase to present information and draw conclusions. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that parents have the perception that economic education must be taught to children from an early age, especially in terms of managing money, reducing unnecessary expenses, and starting to save from an early age, so that children get used to being intelligent economic beings and prepare for future success. When teaching their children about family economics, parents focus on helping their children understand their family's financial situation and how to act responsibly by only spending as needed by providing explanations and modeling economic behavior. Abstract

The limitations of teaching materials in the new curriculum, namely the independent curriculum and technological advances. It has a good impact on education to support the achievement of 21st century skills. E-modules could be used as an alternative learning resource that was practical and contextual, because they could be used anywhere and the material presented was relevant to real life. The article aimed to produce e-module based on PBL valid, practical, and accounting cycles to determine the effectiveness of the e-module on students' critical thinking skills. The researchers used development research, adapting the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). In testing the effectiveness of this e-module, there was a significant increase because the value of the learning effectiveness of students after being given treatment was higher than without being given treatment. The implication of this research showed that educators must implement PBL assisted by e-modules, especially in accounting subjects, to improve students' critical thinking. Students were able to formulate learning problems, analyze problems, students used clear language, and draw learning conclusions. It gave an implication provision for students to develop their critical thinking skills. An important implication for the future that could be made was by paying attention to designs that were more appropriate to student needs, integrating content that was relevant to real life, and providing adequate training to teachers, it can increase the effectiveness of the module in improving students' critical thinking abilities.

A mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques, was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. Analysis tools included Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE), External Factor Evaluation (EFE), Internal-External (IE) Matrix, SWOT Matrix, and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) using Expert Choice software. The results indicated an IFE total score of 2.74 and an EFE total score of 2.39, placing the MSME within the growth quadrant (Quadrant I), which signifies a strong position for leveraging internal strengths and external opportunities. Based on SWOT analysis, the Strength-Opportunity (SO) strategies recommended include maintaining and enhancing service quality to ensure customer loyalty, leveraging product diversification to increase sales, and utilizing brand ambassadors for effective promotion. Weakness-Opportunity (WO) strategies involve pricing adjustments based on market conditions and quality enhancement to retain customers. Strength-Threat (ST) strategies recommend maintaining product quality despite rising raw material costs to sustain customer retention. Lastly, Weakness-Threat (WT) strategies suggest expanding market reach and intensifying promotional activities to remain competitive. The AHP analysis identified the most prioritized strategic alternative: leveraging product diversification to enhance sales volume. This study contributes practical insights for culinary MSMEs seeking sustainable growth and improved market competitiveness.
