Abstract

Mathematics teachers in integrated Islamic schools in Maluku are having problems implementing the integration of Islam into mathematics learning. This study aims to develop a learning model based on Islamic Integrated Information Communication Technology (IICT) to help teachers increase creativity in mathematical problem solving and students' environmental awareness. The main output of this research is an ICT-based active learning model that integrates Islamic sciences into mathematics learning to support the development of creativity skills in solving mathematical problems and students' environmental awareness at an early age. The development of the learning model in this study is a combination of the Plomp (2013), Dick & Carey (2015), and Joyce et al. (2009). Plomp's model was used for the research and model development phase, Dick & Carey for instructional design, and Joyce et al. for the model's contents. The resulting model is an adaptation of the hierarchical and procedural combination of the three developments. The research subjects are mathematics teachers and students. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of the instrument's validity, the IICT model, the practicality, and the effectiveness of the IICT model. Based on expert validation and testing results, the resulting model meets the needs of mathematics teachers and students of SMP/MTs in an integrated Islamic school environment. The results showed that the IICT learning model was qualified to help teachers integrate Islam in mathematics learning, increase creativity in solving math problems, and students' environmental awareness.

Abstract

The phenomenon today in schools is that teachers rarely build student arguments but only accept students' answers. However, teacher activities that always make students 'arguments and support each solution and defend students' arguments without long debates are relevant and exciting to study. This study aims to explain and explore the promotion of mathematics teacher reasoning in tasks in the classroom. The author surveyed teachers who teach mathematics at the junior high level. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with an experimental research design, which begins with a survey of teachers who teach mathematics at the junior high school level in Maluku Province. First, the authors conducted initial observations for one month in several junior high schools in Maluku Province with the guide of the observation instrument for the promotion of teacher reasoning in learning. Second, the writer states that there are three groups of attractive teachers who can promote mathematical reasoning in each of their teachings based on indicators of teachers' mathematical reasoning. Third, the writer created the same math problems for the three teachers and observed how they built students' reasoning and evaluated their thinking efficiently. Finally, the results and surveys were carried out by triangulation with direct trials on seven classes at the junior high level. The results show how teacher actions promoting mathematical reasoning give generalizations or justifications. Teacher actions supporting precise rationale are discussed in more detail in this article.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the application of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model in optimizing student motivation and learning outcomes on ratio material, as well as analyzing its contribution to mathematical reasoning skills. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-test and post-test design involving 20 junior high school students in grade VII. Data were obtained through mathematical reasoning ability test, motivation questionnaire, and analysis of students' learning outcomes. The results showed an increase in the mean score from pre-test to post-test by -6.50 (p = 0.001) which reflects more uniform student learning outcomes. Regression analysis showed a very strong relationship between the independent variable (mathematical reasoning) and the dependent variable (motivation and learning outcomes) with an R value of 0.929 and R2 of 86.4%, indicating that motivation and learning outcomes explained most of the variation in reasoning ability. Specifically, the contribution of mathematical reasoning (X) to student learning outcomes (Y2) was 38.94% while the contribution of motivation (Y1) to mathematical reasoning reached 45.83%. In addition, regression analysis shows that motivation has a significant influence on mathematical reasoning ability, while learning outcomes have a positive but statistically insignificant influence. This finding indicates that the Group Investigation cooperative learning model is not only effective in improving student learning outcomes, but also has an important role in strengthening mathematical reasoning skills through increased motivation. Therefore, cooperative learning strategies that emphasize increased motivation need to be applied in mathematics learning to optimize students' analytical thinking skills.

Abstract

Low rank coal (LRC), due to its abundance and carbon richness, represents a promising and sustainable precursor for graphene synthesis. This study compares the effects of different solvents CTAB (2%), NaOH (1N), H₂SO₄ (1N), and isopropyl alcohol (IPA)—on the exfoliation efficiency of LRC using a multi-stage ultrasonication approach. The resulting materials were characterized by FTIR, SEM, TEM, and XRD to evaluate their structural, morphological, and chemical properties. The findings reveal that IPA provides the most effective exfoliation, yielding few-layer graphene (FLG) with minimal oxidation and structural distortion. FTIR spectra showed reduced hydroxyl and carbonyl peaks in IPA-treated samples, while SEM and TEM confirmed more open and less-stacked layers. XRD analysis indicated decreased crystallinity and larger interlayer spacing. These results demonstrate that solvent selection plays a critical role in determining exfoliation performance, with IPA emerging as the most efficient and environmentally friendly medium for graphene production from LRC.

Abstract

Learning nonlinear equation systems requires the integration of conceptual understanding and computational skills, which in practice remains a challenge for students due to the abstract nature of the material. This community service activity aims to improve students' understanding of nonlinear equation systems through the use of MATLAB Numeric GUI as an interactive learning medium. There were 23 students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at UIN Mataram participating in this activity. The implementation methods included concept socialization, GUI usage demonstrations, case-based independent practice, and direct mentoring. The evaluation system used three essay questions to measure mastery of concepts, numerical procedures, and MATLAB GUI usage skills. The evaluation results show that the average achievement of students is 70, with a maximum score of 80 and a minimum score of 60. The average score for the first question reached 68.67, increased to 69.33 for the second question, and increased again to 72.67 for the third question, showing a trend of increasing understanding by 4 points from the initial question to the final question. These findings indicate that the use of the MATLAB Numeric GUI can strengthen conceptual understanding, improve computational skills, and help visualize numerical processes more concretely in learning nonlinear equation systems.
