Abstract

Bronjong merupakan salah satu jenis dinding penahan tanah tipe gravity, dimana tingkat stabilitasnya tergantung dari berat konstruksi dan jenis timbunan yang digunakan.  Dinding penahan tanah merupakan suatu konstruksi yang digunakan untuk menahan tekanan lateral dari masa tanah dengan  ketinggian tertentu, untuk itu stabilitas dinding penahan tanah harus memenuhi syarat agar aman terhadap beban yang bekerja. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi stabilitas dinding penahan tanah adalah kuat geser tanah timbunan dibelakang dinding. Pada lokasi tertentu terkadang sulit untuk menemukan jenis tanah berbutir kasar, sehingga digunakan jenis tanah berbutir halus. Penggunaan tanah berbutir halus sebagai bahan timbunan  dipengaruhi oleh kadar air, sehingga kuat geser tanah akan berubah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari tingkat  stabilitas  jangka pendek dan jangka panjang dinding penahan tanah tipe bronjong di km 31+800 ruas jalan nasional Lubuk Selasih – Batas kota Padang dan menganalisis pengaruh berbagai variasi kadar air terhadap kuat geser tanah timbunan. Parameter kuat geser yang ditinjau berupa kuat geser total dan kuat geser efektif. Parameter kuat geser didapatkan dari pengujian di laboratorium  menggunakan uji triaksial Unconsolidated Undrained (UU) dan uji triaksial Consolidated Undrained (CU). Sampel yang digunakan dalam pengujian  dipadatkan pada tiga variasi kadar air, yaitu pada kadar air dibawah optimum, pada kadar air optimum dan pada kadar air diatas optimum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kuat geser total dan kuat geser efektif tertinggi diperoleh pada kondisi variasi kadar air terkecil (30 %). Dari perhitungan nilai stabilitas bronjong diperoleh bahwa pada variasi kadar air 30 % dan 40 % tingkat stabilitas bronjong aman terhadap guling, geser dan daya dukung sedangkan pada variasi  kadar air  50 %, dinding bronjong aman terhadap daya dukung tetapi tidak aman terhadap guling dan geser.

Abstract

Sawah Lunto – Talawi road segment (STA 139 + 700 m) in Sawah Lunto city, West Sumatera province has sustained major damages and been the scene of several accidents since the past few years. The degression of soft clay subgrade, which has a limited bearing capacity and makes it structurally impractical to sustain road construction, was discovered to be the source of these damages. As a recent option for enhancing soil qualities, soil stabilization by employing a variety of pozzolanic and industrial materials has gained popularity. The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of Portland cement type 1 as stabilizing material in improving the soil properties and carrying capacity requirements for soft clay soil used as subgrade in road construction. To accomplish the objectives of this study, a laboratory testing procedure was implemented. Unconfined Compressive Strength (USC) values on natural soil and treated soil with Portland cement type 1 admixture were measured and compared during laboratory experiments. Soft clay soils were stabilized with varying percentages of Portland cement type 1 with the proportions of approximately 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7%, and 10% by dry weight of soil during a 7-days curing period. Laboratory testing were performed in compliance with Indonesian National Standard (SNI): SNI 3420-2008 for testing Unconfined Compressive Strength. According to the results of laboratory testing, the UCS values increased roughly from 0.634 kg/cm2 (undisturbed natural soil) to 2.832 kg/cm2 (treated soil) by adding 3% of Portland cement type 1, and up to 8,024 kg/cm2 (treated soil) by adding 10% of Portland cement type 1. Based on the findings, it can be demonstrated that Portland cement type 1 can enhance clay soil's properties used as a subgrade for road construction, can create more stable road conditions, and can ultimately meet the technical feasibility requirements for the subgrade carrying capacity, particularly at the Sawah Lunto - Talawi road segment (STA 139 + 700 m).

Abstract

This local wisdom encourages strong social relations within the Toba Batak community, while al-Ghazali's thought emphasizes individual virtues in Islam. This research aimed to understand the contribution of each concept in shaping moral character and moral thinking, as well as exploring the similarities and differences between the two. Apart from that, this research also aims to highlight the relevance and applicability of these two concepts in the context of modern life. This research was used a qualitative approach by analyzing relevant literature about Dalihan Na Tolu's local wisdom and al-Ghazali's moral thoughts. The data was analyzed thematically to identify the two concepts' patterns, similarities, and differences. The research results show that Dalihan Na Tolu local wisdom and al-Ghazali's moral thoughts have significant value in forming moral and moral character. Even though they come from different cultural and religious backgrounds, they can complement each other in enriching their understanding of morality and morals. In addition, this research also highlights the importance of integrating local and universal values in forming of sustainable moral character in modern society. This research underlined the importance of understanding and appreciating cultural and religious values in the formation of moral and moral character. By utilizing the local wisdom of Dalihan Na Tolu and al-Ghazali's moral thoughts, we can develop a holistic and inclusive approach to creating more ethical and harmonious society. Kearifan lokal ini mendorong hubungan sosial yang kuat dalam komunitas Batak Toba, sementara pemikiran al-Ghazali menekankan kebajikan individual dalam Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami kontribusi masing-masing konsep dalam membentuk karakter moral dan pemikiran akhlak, serta mengeksplorasi kesamaan dan perbedaan di antara keduanya. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menyoroti relevansi dan aplikabilitas kedua konsep ini dalam konteks kehidupan modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menganalisis literatur yang relevan tentang kearifan lokal Dalihan Na Tolu dan pemikiran akhlak al-Ghazali. Data dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola, kesamaan, dan perbedaan antara kedua konsep tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal Dalihan Na Tolu dan pemikiran akhlak al-Ghazali memiliki nilai yang signifikan dalam pembentukan karakter moral dan akhlak. Meskipun berasal dari latar belakang budaya dan agama yang berbeda, keduanya dapat saling melengkapi dalam memperkaya pemahaman tentang moralitas dan akhlak. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menyoroti pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai lokal dan universal dalam pembentukan karakter moral yang berkelanjutan dalam masyarakat modern. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya memahami dan menghargai nilai-nilai budaya dan agama dalam pembentukan karakter moral dan akhlak. Dengan memanfaatkan kearifan lokal Dalihan Na Tolu dan pemikiran akhlak al-Ghazali, kita dapat mengembangkan pendekatan yang holistik dan inklusif dalam menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih beretika dan harmonis.

Abstract

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic to Indonesia, including the city of Padang, resulted in educational activities at Andalas University having to follow general conditions. The lecture continues even though it is conducted in cyberspace. Higher education activities at Andalas University must continue even though they exist in the real and virtual world but in essence, still produce real products, namely humans who believe and fear God Almighty and have noble, healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, skilled, competent and cultured for the benefit of the nation. In addition, higher education activities must also realize the application of science to a society based on reasoning and research work that is useful in advancing the nation's general welfare and intellectual life. By adhering to the mandate of higher education to achieve these educational goals, engineering applications have been made to the public to reduce the impact due to the handling of Covid-19 in Padang City. This activity is participating in distributing foodstuffs to people who are severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and helping to reduce the spread by providing hand sanitizer in places where people can potentially gather. This contribution also helps educate the public to reduce the risk of the impact of Covid-19 by designing, creating, and distributing healthy educational materials in cyberspace. This activity has been successfully carried out to participate in dealing with the problem of the Covid-19 pandemic and is still ongoing with the spirit of learning and working from home; maintaining distance is the best way to break the chain of spreading this virus by working well together between the academic community of Andalas University with the Government and Society.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship education is a field of study that provides space for students to develop their creativity. Through market day activities, students can learn directly about the market situation and recognize the business world. However, there is a gap in the literature regarding how entrepreneurship activities should be implemented in primary schools. This study aims to examine and analyze the entrepreneurial spirit of students from the results of market day activities, how it impacts students, and how character values are internalized. The approach in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects recruited in this study were principals, teachers, and students. Collection techniques and tools were through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results revealed that students displayed positive character values starting from planning and preparing and continuing until market day activities. In conclusion, market day activities have proven to be an effective program for cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit of students. It can be seen that the purpose of the market day is not only to improve entrepreneurial skills but also to become a means of learning character values that are important for students' lives in the future. This research can be a reference for educators in creating innovative learning and being able to internalize character values through market day projects.

Abstract

The earthquake that rocked West Sumatra with a magnitude of 7.9 SR, a depth of 71 km, and an epicenter of 0.84 LS - 99.65 BT around 57 km Southwest of Pariaman on 30 September 2009 has caused damage to infrastructure and buildings and caused 383 fatalities. One of the problems caused by the earthquake is the liquefaction phenomenon. Liquefaction was reported to have occurred in Padang in the form of sand ejection coming out of cracks in the ground after the 7.9 SR earthquake in 2009. This study aims to determine the liquefaction potential of the Sintuk Toboh Gadang railway, Pariaman, using various liquefaction potential analysis methods so that the most practical and convincing method is obtained among these methods. In this study, the methods used to predict liquefaction are the Tsuchida (1970), Seed & Idriss (1971), Shibata & Teparaksa (1988), and Hakam (2020) methods. Field testing was conducted at four CPT test points, four NSPT test points, and machine drilling tests. The results showed that using the Tsuchida (1970) method, soil deposits at the four points tended to have liquefaction potential. The Seed & Idriss (1971) method showed that points 3, with depths of 8m and 14m, and point 4, with a depth of 8m, had liquefaction potential, while the Shibata & Teparaksa (1988) method using CPT data showed that at depths <10 meters there was a tendency for liquefaction to occur at the four points reviewed. The study's results using the Hakam (2020) method resemble the method proposed by Seed & Idriss (1971). It can be concluded that among the four methods, the most practical and convincing method is the Hakam (2020) method.

Abstract

SDGs (Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan) adalah sebuah program global yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan manusia dalam aspek sosial dan ekonomi dengan tetap memperhatikan dampak terhadap lingkungan. SDGs dapat menjadi salah satu program berkelanjutan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan mengurangi angka kemiskinan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui implementasi program SDGs dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat menurut perspektif ekonomi Islam di Desa Yosowilangun Gresik. Adapun metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data di lapangan dan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan cara triangulasi data dan hasil wawancara dibuktikan dengan observasi dan juga dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program SDGs yang dilaksanakan di Desa Yosowilangun Gresik dapat berjalan dengan baik dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dengan  adanya program tersebut dapat dirasakan manfaatnya untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat di bidang ekonomi. Menurut perspektif ekonomi Islam, kesejahteraan bukan hanya diukur dari sisi materi melainkan kesejahteraan juga diukur dari non-materi. SDGs yang dilaksanakan di Desa Yosowilangun Gresik telah memenuhi prinsip-prinsip Islam dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakatnya. Dalam hal ini, Desa tersebut dikategorikan sebagai desa yang sejahtera karena terpenuhinya indikator kesejahteraan dalam perspektif ekonomi Islam yang berdasarkan Maqashid Syariah.

Abstract

The Barung-Barung Belantai road section is located in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. The area is dominated by steep hillsides that are prone to landslides. The types of slope reinforcement used are Gabion, Cantilever Retaining Walls and Sheet Piles. This study aims to calculate the slope safety factor value using the slice method, analyze slope reinforcement against the safety factors of overturning, sliding, soil bearing capacity and calculate the cost and time of the work. Based on the calculation of slope stability, the slope safety factor (Fs) value is 0.8569, overturning is 0.971, and the soil bearing capacity value is 0.996. These values ​​indicate that the slope condition is classified as unstable because all safety factor values ​​(Fs) are below 1.25, which is the safe limit. Based on this analysis, this study recommends the use of a 4-meter high cantilever retaining wall as a repair solution. The calculation results show that this wall has a safety factor (Fs) against shear of 4.920, overturning of 2.003, and soil bearing capacity of 4.730, including the safe category and meeting technical criteria. It is concluded that the cantilever wall is more efficient than the gabion and sheet pile methods. The construction of the cantilever wall requires a budget of Rp. 522,259,000 with a working time of 14 weeks. As a comparison, the construction of the gabion structure costs Rp. 560,974,000 with a work duration of 11 weeks, while the sheet pile costs Rp. 629,578,000.- with a work time of 10 weeks.

Abstract

High rainfall on steep slopes along the Padang – Painan city boundary road (Sta 50+950 – Sta 51+035) Pesisir Selatan Regency resulted in landslides and damage to retaining walls. This study aims to analyze slope stability, and retaining wall stability without and using bored pile foundations. The retaining wall used in this study is the Cantilever type. Slope stability analysis using the slices method was carried out by trial and error three times, the results showed a safety factor value (FS <1.25) which means the slope is unstable. The results of the slope improvement analysis using cantilever retaining wall without bored pile foundations showed that the structure was safe against overturning (FS = 3.9) and shear safety (FS = 2.3), but not safe against soil bearing capacity (FS = 1.5 <3). The addition of a single bored pile foundation to the retaining wall increased the bearing capacity to 3,443.43 kN but was unable to withstand the design load of 41,766.45 kN. Therefore, a pile group foundation with a maximum load capacity of 482,080.27 kN, and a permissible bearing capacity of 192,832 kN is used so that it can withstand the structural load. The estimated cost of geotechnical and structural work is Rp10,361,534,397.05 with an implementation time of 10 weeks. The results of this study provide technical recommendations for comprehensive slope and DPT repairs for similar conditions in the future.

Abstract

Kategori tanah dasar yang tidak memadai seperti lempung yang memiliki kuat geser rendah dapat menyebabkan kerusakan bagi konstruksi, sehingga perlu diberi perkuatan salah satunya adalah dengan diperkuat geosintetik. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis kekuatan tanah yang diperkuat dengan geosintetik terhadap gaya geser. Geosintetik yang digunakan adalah geotekstil jenis woven, geotekstil non-woven dan geogrid. Prosedur yang digunakan adalah pengujian fisik tanah serta pengujian geser langsung. Tanah lempung yang digunakan berasal dari Kota Pekanbaru, Provinsi Riau. Lempung yang diuji dikategorikan sebagai lean clay anorganik (CL) dengan plastisitas sedang. Kadar air sebesar 26,25%, batas cair sebesar 41,54%, batas plastis sebesar 21,54%, berat jenis sebesar 2,653, berat isi sebesar 18,69 kN/m³ dan indeks plastisitas sebesar 20,0%. Sudut gesek internal sebesar 2,66 dan kohesi sebesar 0,42. Sudut gesekan tanah dan geosintetik dari uji geser langsung laboratorium, tanah dengan geotekstil woven ϕ = 30,780°, dan kohesi antarmuka (ca) adalah 0,1309 kg/cm2, tanah dengan geotekstil non-woven ϕ = 37,26°, dan kohesi antarmuka (ca) adalah 0,4332 kg/cm2, tanah dengan geogrid ϕ = 44,330° dan kohesi antarmuka (ca) adalah 0,5929 kg/cm2. Hasil pengujian menyimpulkan bahwa geogrid memberikan nilai kohesi antar muka dan kekuatan geser yang lebih besar dibandingkan geotekstil karena mekanisme interlock (saling mengunci) partikel tanah ke dalam jaring-jaring geogrid lebih efektif dibandingkan hanya dengan kontak gesekan pada geotekstil.
