Abstract

Malarial parasite, Plasmodium, has been reported resistant to commonly used antimalarial drugs, such as chloroquin. Plants Artocarpus genus are known to have high content of flavonoids. One of interesting bioactivities of Artocarpus flavonoids is their antimalarial activity. This research is to investigate the potency of secondary metabolites in the heartwood and root bark of Artocarpus camansi Blanco as an antimalarial agent. Antimalarial activity from methanol extract of heartwood and roots bark of A. camansi were tested in vitro to Plasmodium falciparum SD7 (strain sensitive to chloroquin) and W2 (strain resistant to chloroquin) The extracts were also phytochcmically screened for compounds. The result showed that the methanol extract of heartwood and root bark of A , camansi Blanco inhibited the growth of Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain With IC50 values of 1.84 µg/mL and 32.13 µg/mL . respectively; While similar antimalarial activity test to Plasmodium falciparum W2 strain showed IC50 valucs of 8.11 µg/mL and 17.10 µg/mL, respectively. Phytochemical screening indicated that the heartwood and root bark of A. camansi Blanco contain flavonoids, terpenoids, and tannin, while coumarin and saponins are present only in the root bark of A. camansi Blanco.

Abstract

The aims of this study to synthesis barium M-heksaferit doped metal Zn. Synthesis of BaM using coprecipitation method by varying the concentrate of dopan 0,0; 0,3; 0,6; dan 0,9 and varying the calcinations temperature 80, 400, 600 dan 800 oC. The basic material used of Barium Carbonat (BaCO3), Iron (III) Cloride Hexahydrate (FeCl3.6H2O) ZnCl2 dan NH4OH. Synthesis process conducted at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Analytical Laboratories Unram. The final product of synthesis is varied colored powder light brown to dark depending on the dopan concentrate and calcinations temperature. Abstract

research on the phytochemical screening of extracts of fruit powder beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L). The aims study was determine the content of chemical compound in extract beans that had undergone a process of heating at high temperature and has been stored in a specified time. Classified of chemical compounds would be included flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols, saponins, tannins, steroids and triterpenoids. Results of phytochemical screening showed bean extract contains the chemical compound class of flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols, saponins, steroids and triterpenoids. Keyword: Phytochemic al screening, bean fruit extracts

Abstract

This research was aimed to identify some classes of secondary metabolite compound on the fractionation results of green bean extract (P. vulgaris L.) using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) method. Green bean was extracted by methanol solvent. Fractionation of methanol extract used Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) with some variation of eluents such as n-hexane 100%; n-hexane: ethyl acetate (9 : 1 to 1 : 9); and ethyl acetate 100%, produced 11 major fractions.  Based on Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) analysis using DCM: MeOH (9.5: 0.5) as mobile phases, these 11 major fractions were classified based on their polarity such as non-polar, semi-polar and polar fraction. The results of identification by GC-MS spectrometer showed the presence of secondary metabolites such as monoterpenes in non-polar fraction; in semi-polar fraction was found terpenoids and steroids; in polar fraction was found monoterpenes, phenolic and steroid as the lowest percent area, that is less than 2%. Keyword: P.vulgaris L extract, fractionation, VLC, GC-MS

Abstract

This research has made for identification derivate compound of fractionation derivate compound of fractionation root bark Artocarpus ododratissimus. Root bark A. dodoratissimus has macerated by methanol. Fractionation by using Vacuum Liquid Choromatography with eluen variation from nonpolar till polar (n-hexane 100%; n-hexane:ethyl acetate 9:1 till 1:9; ethyl acetate 100% and ethyl acetate:methanol 9,5:0,5 and 9:1) produce main fraction. Purified by used with Gravitation Coulumb Chomatograph produce seven main fraction. Identification based on FT-IR and 1H-NMR showed that the pure compound assumed phenyl prophane derivation.Keyword: Artocarpus odoratissimus, phenyl prophane

Abstract

Peel-Off face mask is one of the cosmetics that is used to treat skin from free radicals. Peel-off face mask can minimize the effects of free radicals because it contains antioxidant. One of the antioxidant sources is red dragon fruit’s rind (Hylocereuspolyrhizus Haw.). The aim of this study is to obtain Peel-Off face mask of red dragon fruit’s rind extract that contains anthocyanin. Red dragon fruit’s rind was macerated by ethanol 96%, ethyl acetate and n-hexane added citric acid (4:1) solvents. TLC test used Chloroform: ethyl acetate: n-butanol (5:4:1) eluent and sprayed by AlCl3. Antioxidant activity of extract was tested using DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picryhidrazyl) method. Peel-Off face mask was made using PVA, HPMC, methyl paraben, propylparaben, propylenglycol, extract, ethanol 96% and aquadest. The rendemen of ethanol 96% extract was 9,476%, ethyl acetate extract was 0,783% and n-hexane extract was 0,631%. The results of TLC test showed yellow spots on the ethyl acetate and ethanol 96% extracts which indicated that extract contained flavonoids (anthocyanin). The results of antioxidant activity test showed that IC50 value of ethanol 96% extract was 189,7422 (AAI=0,2087), ethyl acetate extract was 196,9398 (AAI=0,2011), and n-hexane extract was 385,3664 (AAI=0,1027). The result of the product evaluations showed that all the formulas complied the product requirements such as the organoleptic, homogenity, pH, dispersive power and drying time. Peel-off face mask already meet the product requirements but further research is needed to test the product stability and activity.

Abstract

NTB Province is one of the areas prone to natural disasters. In 2018 there was an earthquake that destroyed infrastructure and the safety of human life. The number of casualties due to the earthquake, one of which is the lack of public knowledge about disasters. Through counseling, the increase in knowledge and capacity to reduce disaster risk in science master students at the University of Mataram. It is hoped that students as intellectual agents in the community can continue or inform their environment. Data collection methods: before and after counseling, students were given a questionnaire via google form sent via WA regarding a) disaster knowledge, b) disaster risk reduction capacity and c) disaster mitigation measures. The discussion is more devoted to earthquake disasters. Outreach was held on November 5, 2020 virtually via zoom meeting. The number of participants who took part was 45 people, consisting of 16 male students and 29 female students. The results show that it is not satisfactory, because the percentage increase in knowledge at the high level is still smaller than the percentage level at the lower level. Therefore, it is suggested that education about disaster risk capacity still needs to be disseminated.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian R&D (Research and Development) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) langkah-langkah proses pengembangan modul praktikum kimia bahan alam tentang isolasi triterpenoid lupeol dari daun mangrove Sonneratia alba., (2) Tingkat kevalidan serta kepraktisan modul praktikum kimia bahan alam tentang isolasi triterpenoid dari daun mangrove Sonneratia alba yang dikembangkan. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah model 4D (define, design, development, and dissemination). Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah random sampling dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin pada populasi mahasiswa program studi pendidikan kimia semester 8 yang berjumlah 67 mahasiswa dan sampel  penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu 18 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai validitas dari dua orang validator yang diperoleh menggunakan indeks Aiken’s adalah V = 0,77 dan nilai praktikalitas dari respon mahasiswa yang menunjukkan rata-rata praktikalitas semua komponen sebesar 84% dari respon sampel mahasiswa. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul praktikum kimia bahan alam tentang isolasi triterpenoid lupeol dari daun mangrove Sonneratia alba termasuk dalam katergori valid dan sangat praktis untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran mata kuliah Kimia Bahan Alam. Kata kunci: Pengembangan, Modul, Kimia Bahan Alam, Lupeol, Sonneratia alba

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul praktikum kimia bahan alam isolasi senyawa stigmasterol dari daun tumbuhan majapahit (Crescentia cujete). Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model 4D (define, desaign, develop dan disseminate). Proses isolasi senyawa menggunakan metode modifikasi yang diawali dengan tahap maserasi, penguapan, rekristalisasi dan identifikasi struktur dengan menggunakan spektroskopi IR dan UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kristal/serbuk berwarna putih sebanyak 400 mg. Hasil pengukuran spektrum IR menunjukkan pita serapan pada bilangan gelombang 3456,72 cm-1, 2918,32 cm-1, 2849,74 cm-1, 1638,57 cm-1, 1473,5 cm-1, 1463,36 cm-1, 1288,43 cm-1, 729,94 cm-1, 719,6 cm-1. Hasil pengukuran spektrum UV-Vis menunjukkan serapan maksimum pada bilangan gelombang 243 nm. Berdasarkan hasil analisis spektroskopi, senyawa hasil isolasi merupakan stigmasterol dengan rumus molekul C29H48O. Modul yang dikembangkan dianalisis kevalidannya dengan rumus indeks Aiken dan didapatkan nilai V 0,79 dengan kategori valid dan hasil dilakukan analisis reliabilitas dengan nilai 0,89 sehingga modul layak digunakan. Analisis kepraktisan modul untuk semua aspek  didapatkan rata-rata kepraktisan angket respon mahasiswa 82% dengan kategori sangat praktis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen berpikir kritis untuk mahasiswa kimia sebagai prototipe awal dalam pengembangan instrumen yang valid dan reliabel. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yaitu analisis literatur terkait berpikir kritis, analisis materi kimia, dan analisis karakteristik mahasiswa kimia; menyusun butir soal sesuai dengan hasil analisis materi kimia dan karakteristik mahasiswa; rancangan awal instrumen berpikir kritis; uji internal untuk mendapatkan tanggapan terkait rancangan awal instrumen; dan revisi rancangan awal sesuai hasil uji internal. Praktisi yang terlibat sebanyak tujuh orang dan sebanyak tiga orang ahli di bidang pendidikan kimia. Hasil analisis literatur menunjukkan bahwa instrumen pengukur berpikir kritis menggunakan soal atau laporan penyelidikan; indikator berpikir kritis yang selama ini diukur: analisis, evaluasi, inference, deduksi, induksi, membuat asumsi, ketelitian, perencanaan eksperimen, mengembangkan hipotesis, dan menguji hipotesis; bentuk soal adalah pilihan ganda dan soal essay. Indikator yang ada pada soal kimia di UNRAM adalah ketelitian, menganalisis, dan mengevaluasi; instrumen berpikir kritis belum dikembangkan terutama dalam menguji kemampuan mahasiswa dalam membuat asumsi, mengembangkan hipotesis dan menguji hipotesis. Rancangan awal soal adalah soal pilihan ganda namun dilengkapi dengan alasan sebanyak 20 butir soal dengan indikator ketelitian, membuat asumsi, mengembangkan hipotesis, menguji hipotesis, dan mengembangkan kesimpulan. Hasil penilaian ahli dan praktisi menunjukkan bahwa instrumen telah memenuhi indikator berpikir kritis dan layak dilakukan ujicoba dengan beberapa perbaikan.
