Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the extent to which influencer marketing and electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) simultaneously influence consumer purchasing decisions. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents who had purchased or used cosmetic products after being exposed to influencer marketing and E-WOM, selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to determine the influence of the independent variables (influencer marketing and E-WOM) on the dependent variable (purchase decision). The findings reveal that influencer marketing and E-WOM significantly affect consumer purchasing decisions, with a combined contribution of 56.9%. This result highlights the novelty of integrating both digital strategies as complementary drivers of consumer behavior in the cosmetic industry, particularly in an era where peer-to-peer communication and digital endorsements increasingly shape purchase intentions. From an academic perspective, this study enriches the literature on digital marketing by demonstrating how the synergy between influencer credibility and electronic word-of-mouth creates a stronger explanatory framework for understanding purchasing decisions. Practically, the findings imply that cosmetic brands should not only optimize influencer collaborations but also design strategies that stimulate authentic consumer engagement to enhance E-WOM, thereby achieving a sustainable competitive advantage in digital marketplaces.

Abstract

Climate change has emerged as a significant driver of human displacement, forcing millions of people to leave their homes due to environmental degradation, extreme weather events, and rising sea levels. This study examines the legal protection gaps facing environmental migrants under international human rights law through a comprehensive qualitative analysis. The research employed document analysis, case study examination, and policy review to investigate how current international legal frameworks fail to adequately protect climate-displaced persons. Key findings reveal that the 1951 Refugee Convention excludes environmental displacement from its protection scope, leaving millions without legal status or rights. The landmark Teitiota v. New Zealand case established important precedent recognizing climate change as a potential trigger for non-refoulement obligations under international human rights law, particularly Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. However, significant gaps persist in complementary protection mechanisms, regional frameworks, and national implementation. The study identifies 218 million internal displacements globally due to weather-related disasters between 2013-2023, with an estimated 170 million people potentially displaced by 2050. Legal analysis demonstrates that while international human rights law provides broader protection potential than refugee law, extraterritorial obligations remain unclear and application inconsistent. The research concludes that comprehensive legal reform is urgently needed, including expanded complementary protection mechanisms, clearer non-refoulement obligations for climate displacement, and strengthened regional cooperation frameworks to address this growing humanitarian crisis.

Abstract

This cross-sectional study was aimed to examine the association between total cholesterol levels and blood pressures. Data was collected on June 14-21, 2011, among 51 subjects, aged > 30 years, who were taking neither antihypertensive nor anticholesterol drug, consecutively selected among peoples attending Joglo-II Sub-district Primary Health Center, Jakarta. Blood pressures were measured using a manual sphygmomanometer according to the standard protocols. Peripheral blood samples were collected and non-fasting total cholesterol were assessed using a cholesterol-test kit. Analyses were perfomed using linear regression, Pearson correlation, and General Linear Model (with Bonferroni correction). In 51 respondents (median age 50 years, 70.6% female), mean total cholesterol level was 200 mg/dL and blood pressure were 135/84 mmHg. After adjustment for confounding factors, higher total cholesterol levels were associated with higher systolic (r = 0.39; p value = 0.005) or diastolic (r = 0.43; p value = 0.002) blood pressures. Participant in the third quartile category had blood pressures 26/11 mmHg significantly higher than that of those in the second quartile category (p value = 0,001 and p value = 0,002 for sistolic and diastolic blood pressures, respectively). Maintaining total cholesterol levels within the normal limits may be one way to prevent hypertension.

Abstract

The use of wood requires wood conditions with low air content (KA) according to the environment. Its position can influence wood properties in the trunk. The objectives of this research are a) to analyze the natural drying properties, namely the drying rate in the radial direction of tumeh wood, and b) to analyze natural drying defects. The method used refers to Hidayat and Karnasudirdja 1987. The parameters measured are natural drying properties (drying rate) and drying defects. Statistical analysis used t test. The results show that the natural drying rate pattern is greater near the liver than near the bark. The location in the radial direction of the wood (near the bark and the heart) has no significant effect to the natural drying of tumeh wood. The natural drying defect found were surface check and end check. Further research into the natural drying properties of tumeh wood in different diameters is necessary to utilize the wood effectively and efficiently.
