Abstract

This study evaluates the sustainability status of the agricultural sector in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, using a Multiaspect Sustainability Analysis (MSA) approach supported by EXSIMPRO software. The assessment focuses on three main dimensions: economic, institutional, and technological sustainability. Primary data were obtained from 30 key stakeholders, including farmers, extension officers, cooperatives, and local government representatives, and were complemented by secondary data from official sources. The results show that the economic sustainability index is 42.86%, indicating a low level of sustainability, mainly due to low productivity, fluctuating Farmer Exchange Rates (NTP), and limited market access. The institutional dimension records a borderline sustainability status of approximately 50%, reflecting weak farmer organizations, limited extension intensity, and insufficient regulatory support. The technological dimension performs relatively better, with a sustainability index of 65.8%, driven by partial adoption of agricultural machinery, superior seeds, and basic digital technologies. Leverage sensitivity analysis reveals an equal leverage value of 0.5 across all dimensions, indicating strong interdependence and the need for simultaneous, integrated interventions. Scenario simulations suggest that targeted policies could increase the economic sustainability index to 50% and the technological index to 87.5%. Key structural constraints include long marketing chains, inadequate irrigation, land conversion, labor shortages, and low digital literacy. The study concludes that integrated interventions focusing on technology adoption, institutional strengthening, and market access improvement are essential to enhance the overall sustainability of Berau Regency’s agricultural sector.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Bocek Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency as one of the several village agribusiness centers for fresh milk around the KUD Karangploso area. The research purpose was to determine social interaction in the fresh milk marketing chain. The research method used was survey method. Type of data uses were primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through observation, direct interviews to dairy farmer and cooperative officer & Netle representative, and documentation. While secondary data obtained from relevant documents. The theoretical approach used was the social interaction theory which it can be consist of the form of cooperation, competition as well as conflict and accommodation. Data then analyzed descriptive qualitatively. In general, there are two main characteristics of social interaction, namely associative and dissociative. The results indicated that the social interaction that was formed in the marketing of fresh milk by dairy farmers in the Karangploso KUD area was social interaction between farmers because there was an organizational relationship between members of the Karangploso KUD. The social interaction of dairy farmers with the KUD Karangploso was formed due to cooperation in marketing fresh milk. While social interaction between KUD Karangploso and PT. Nestle Indonesia is in the form of cooperation in the distribution of fresh milk on the basis of contractual cooperation.

Abstract

In geothermal well drilling, a primary challenge is clay swelling, particularly in reactive clay formations, where drilling success is largely determined by the type of drilling fluid used. Although gel polymer mud is commonly preferred, adding KCl polymer is often necessary to mitigate swelling in such formations. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of KCl-polymer mud in mitigating clay reactivity in the 26-inch borehole section of the FA1 well in a geothermal field. The methodology began with the methylene blue test to assess clay reactivity, followed by the formulation of gel polymer and various concentrations of KCl polymer muds. A linear swell meter test was subsequently conducted to compare the swelling reduction performance of each mud type. The methylene blue test results indicated a smectite content of 60 meq/100 g, confirming the presence of reactive clay in the 26-inch borehole. LSM test results showed that the Gel Polymer mud exhibited 25.78% swelling over 11 hours, indicating it was ineffective for such formations. In contrast, the 7% KCl Polymer mud significantly reduced swelling to 16.38% over 8 hours. This improvement is attributed to the substitution of Na⁺ ions with K⁺ ions, which neutralizes negative charges on clay surfaces and reduces the clay's water-holding capacity. The findings confirm that KCl Polymer mud is more effective in minimizing clay swelling in reactive geothermal formations.

Abstract

This study examines the production of religious space in the Sunan Ampel area of Surabaya through a sociological-historical approach, emphasizing the concept of lived space and the dialectics between sacrality and economy. Departing from Henri Lefebvre’s theory of space production, this article argues that the sacredness of Ampel is not a static entity that is inherited ahistorically, but rather the result of social construction that continues to be produced and reproduced through ritual practices, social relations, economic activities, and collective memory that are formed historically. This research uses a qualitative method with in-depth interviews, field observations, and historical document analysis. The study’s findings show that, sociologically and historically, Ampel evolved from a religious settlement into an urban religious pilgrimage and tourism area with layers of symbolic, social, and economic meaning. The dialectic between sacredness and economics does not exist as a structural conflict of a binary nature, but rather as an everyday social experience negotiated by the actors. In the Sunan Ampel lived space, economic activities are tied to religious ethics and the moral economy, thereby supporting the sacred space’s sustainability. Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation and contribution of the Sekolah Peternakan Rakyat (SPR) Program to Brahman Cross cattle farming in Bojonegoro Regency. A mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was applied, involving surveys, in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis of 20 SPR farmers. The results show that the program effectively improved farmers’ knowledge and technical competencies (knowledge scores ranging from 4.35–5.00). However, business expansion aspiration remained very low 1.15, indicating structural constraints beyond individual capacity enhancement. Technical performance of Brahman Cross cattle was fluctuating, particularly in reproductive indicators, and institutional capacity within the farmer group remained limited in managerial coordination and collective decision-making. These findings demonstrate that improvements in individual capacity do not automatically translate into sustainable business performance. Institutional strengthening and alignment between program design and smallholder conditions are essential to ensure long-term program effectiveness.

Abstract

This classroom action research was motivated by low learning activity and learning outcomes among first-grade students at SDN Pari Pari in mathematics, particularly on subtraction, caused by the teacher's reliance on textbooks and the chalkboard without engaging media, resulting in students paying less attention and achieving scores below the minimum mastery criterion (KKM) of 70. This study aimed to determine the improvement of student activity and learning outcomes in Grade 1 of SDN Pari Pari through the use of a counting board (papan hitung) medium on the subtraction topic. This research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method following the spiral model of Kemmis and McTaggart, carried out in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings covering planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 15 first-grade students of SDN Pari Pari, consisting of 8 male and 7 female students, in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation of student activity using an observation sheet with ten indicators, and learning achievement tests given at the end of each cycle, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The results showed that the counting board medium improved both student activity and learning outcomes. Student activity increased from 83.50% in Cycle I, categorized as active, to 92.58% in Cycle II, categorized as very active. The percentage of students achieving mastery learning also increased, from 86.67% in Cycle I to 100% in Cycle II. These findings indicate the counting board medium is effective for improving activity and learning outcomes on subtraction.
