Abstract

The research investigated the effect of adding phytobiotics in basal feed on live weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat percentage of hybrid ducks. The hybrid ducks used for research were 192 ducks. The method used in this research was field experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using four treatments and six replications there were basal feed + 0% phytobiotics (T0), basal feed + 0.20% phytobiotics (T1), basal feed + 0.25% phytobiotics (T2) and basal feed + 0.30% phytobiotics (T3). The variables measured were the percentage of carcasses and abdominal fat. The research data were analyzed using variance using the Completely Randomized Design and continued with Duncan's multiple range test to determine whether there were fundamental or real differences. The result showed that the addition of phytobiotics in basal feed to the live weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat percentage of hybrid ducks adding leaf flour in hybrid duck feed had no significant effect ( P> 0.05) on body weight before slaughtering, carcass percentage of thigh and wing parts and abdominal fat. But as a significant impact (P <0.05) on carcass weight and a very substantial effect (P <0.01) on the percentage of carcass breast.

Abstract

Livestock farmers in Besowo Village, a buffer zone of the Besowo Natural Reserve, rely heavily on forest resources, leading to potential environmental and social challenges. This study, conducted from August to October 2023 in Kediri Regency, Indonesia, employs a quantitative descriptive survey method with data collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using SWOT and QSPM to identify sustainable forest resource utilization strategies for livestock farming. Farmers utilize non-timber forest products, including Pennisetum purpureum, Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott, various weeds, and tree leaves such as Swietenia mahagoni, sengon (Albizia chinensis), and mindi (Melia azedarach) for livestock feed. Timber forest products like Swietenia mahagoni, sengon, gembilina (Gmelina arborea), balsa (Ochroma grandiflorum), and salam (Syzygium polyanthum) are used for firewood and livestock pens. The SWOT analysis recommends sustainable strategies, including monitoring forest resource use, optimizing sharecropping land for forage planting, empowering farmers through conservation programs, and enhancing goat and sheep farming. The QSPM analysis emphasizes the importance of government and Perhutani support in ensuring sustainable forest resource utilization. Strengthening institutional collaboration and promoting agroforestry-based livestock farming could further enhance sustainability and reduce dependence on forest resources.

Abstract

Abstract The commercialization of public spaces is increasingly common in major cities, transforming areas once open and freely accessible into spaces focused on commercial activities. This shift not only changes the primary role of public spaces as venues for social interaction but also introduces challenges and opportunities for economic security. From an economic security perspective, the commercialization of public spaces offers both benefits and risks for communities and local governments. On one hand, it can stimulate economic growth through increased business activities, job creation, and urban revitalization. On the other hand, it can exacerbate socio-economic inequalities, marginalize vulnerable groups, limit access, and erode the social function of public spaces. This study investigates the impact of public space commercialization on economic security, focusing on how this transformation affects accessibility, economic disparity, and social welfare sustainability. Through literature analysis and case studies, the study provides comprehensive insights into managing public space commercialization sustainably while upholding inclusive and equitable economic security principles. The findings indicate that while commercialization offers economic opportunities, it also heightens social inequality, highlighting the need for inclusive policies to safeguard economic security. These findings aim to guide policymakers in balancing economic interests with the social functions of public spaces, ensuring that policies are inclusive, equitable, and support sustainable economic security for all societal groups

Abstract

Population growth remains a critical challenge for Sidoarjo Regency, requiring effective policies that balance population size with available resources. However, gaps persist in program outreach, limited budget, and uneven public awareness, especial ly in rural areas. This study aims to analyze the implementation of population control policies through child protection and family planning programs managed by the Sidoarjo Women’s. Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning Service (P3AKB). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected Through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation analysis with officials, extension workers, and community members. The findings show that the program has successfully raised public awareness about family planning and child protection, contributing to lower birth rates and improved maternal and child health. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including cultural resistance, shortage of extension workers, and unequal service access. This study fills the research gap by contextualizing Edwards III’s implementation model within Indonesia’s decentralized population governance framework, providing theoretical insights into how local administrative structures influence policy execution. The research contributes to understanding the dynamics of local policy implementation and offers recommendations to strengthen cross-sector collaboration, improve human resources, and expand service coverage to ensure more inclusive and sustainable population control efforts.
