Abstract

Educational quality in Islamic schools is profoundly shaped by teacher professionalism, where discipline and loyalty serve as critical human resource drivers. Despite their theoretical linkage, empirical gaps persist regarding how these constructs interact to sustain instructional excellence. This study employs a qualitative thematic systematic literature review to synthesize peer-reviewed publications (2015–2024) examining teacher discipline, loyalty, and educational quality in Islamic contexts. Thematic synthesis reveals that discipline functions as a structural prerequisite for organizational stability, while loyalty operates as a psychological and professional commitment that sustains instructional continuity. The analysis demonstrates a synergistic relationship: internalized discipline fosters role clarity and procedural consistency, which, when mediated by fair leadership and value alignment, cultivates productive loyalty. This loyalty subsequently drives teacher retention, collaborative innovation, and student learning outcomes. The review underscores that disciplinary mechanisms rooted solely in administrative compliance are insufficient; sustainable educational quality requires integrating internalized professionalism, participatory governance, and Islamic ethical values into school management. These findings offer theoretical clarification on the discipline, loyalty, quality nexus and provide actionable insights for administrators designing policies that balance accountability, professional autonomy, and institutional commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of student management in enhancing student discipline across various educational settings. A literature review method was employed by analyzing and synthesizing findings from 15 recent scholarly articles related to student management and disciplinary practices, with a focus on identifying key management strategies, supporting factors, and challenges influencing the development of student discipline. The findings indicate that effective student management contributes significantly to improving discipline through structured planning, student participation, orientation programs, and engagement in extracurricular activities. The study also reveals that leadership, positive role models, supportive school culture, and parental involvement are critical factors in fostering disciplined behavior. However, limited resources, diverse student backgrounds, and low levels of student participation may reduce the effectiveness of discipline-related initiatives. The implications of this study suggest that educational institutions should adopt a multidimensional approach that integrates clear regulations, active student involvement, and continuous monitoring to strengthen both behavioral and academic outcomes. Furthermore, enhancing student engagement in governance and decision-making processes may support the sustainability of disciplinary improvements. Future studies are encouraged to conduct comparative analyses across educational contexts and explore innovative strategies for increasing student participation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of school principals’ managerial competence in enhancing teacher work discipline and its contribution to improving teacher performance and overall school effectiveness. Using a literature review method, the study synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2021 and 2026, with a focus on leadership strategies, influencing factors, and outcomes related to teacher discipline. The findings reveal that effective principals improve teacher discipline through active supervision, motivation and reward systems, role modeling, and continuous professional development, which contribute to better punctuality, compliance with regulations, and task completion. The effectiveness of these strategies is influenced by principals’ conceptual, interpersonal, and technical competencies, supportive organizational cultures, and ongoing mentoring programs. Nevertheless, challenges such as teacher health conditions, workload pressures, resource limitations, and contextual constraints may hinder successful implementation. The study implies that strengthening principals’ managerial competence through leadership development programs, systematic supervision, and continuous professional support is crucial for improving teacher discipline, enhancing teacher performance, and promoting overall school quality.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of holistic Islamic curriculum management in early childhood education and its contribution to comprehensive child development. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing selected national and international publications from major academic databases. Articles were screened using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevance and methodological rigor. The findings reveal that holistic Islamic curriculum management effectively integrates core values—aqidah (faith), ibadah (worship), and akhlaq (morality)—into learning processes through thematic, interactive, and child-centered approaches. This integration supports balanced development across spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral domains. The review also highlights the importance of participatory management involving teachers, parents, and community stakeholders, as well as continuous evaluation aligned with holistic educational objectives. However, challenges remain, including limited teacher capacity, inadequate resources, and inconsistencies in assessing character and religious outcomes. The study implies that strengthening holistic Islamic curriculum management requires sustained professional development, improved resource support, and enhanced stakeholder collaboration. These efforts are essential to optimize character education and promote integrated child development in Islamic early childhood education contexts.

Abstract

Women empowerment through education is a strategic issue in sustainable development; however, significant gender gaps remain in Lampung Province. Effective education management is key to the success of women empowerment programs. This study aims to identify and analyze the conditions, models, factors, and best practices in education management for women empowerment in Lampung through a comprehensive systematic review of existing literature. The study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA approach. Literature searches were conducted in international academic databases (Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, Google Scholar) and national databases (Garuda, institutional repositories) for the period 2010-2026. The review identifies four main models of education management for women empowerment: (1) Community-Based Model with a participatory approach, (2) Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Model involving government-NGOs-community, (3) Result-Based Model with a strong M&E system, and (4) Participatory-Transformative Model focusing on women’s agency. Key supporting factors include responsive program design, transformational leadership, policy support, and social capital. Major barriers include restrictive gender norms, women’s double burden, limited resources, and weak stakeholder coordination. Effective programs lead to positive outcomes at the individual level (increased knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy), family level (increased income and children’s education), and community level (strengthened women’s organizations and changing social norms). Effective education management for women empowerment requires a holistic, contextual, and participatory approach with strong multi-stakeholder coordination. Strengthening policy commitment, improving managerial capacity, a robust M&E system, and strategies to address structural-cultural barriers are essential. This study provides an integrated conceptual framework and evidence-based recommendations for improving women empowerment programs in Lampung.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital supervision conducted by the principal in improving the quality of technology-based learning at SMA Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, using observation, in-depth interviews, and digital documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that digital supervision is implemented through the use of a Learning Management System (LMS), Google Drive, QR code–based digital attendance, and video-based classroom observations. Digital supervision has been proven to enhance teacher discipline, the quality of instructional materials, learning effectiveness, and teachers’ technological competence. In addition, a stronger culture of pedagogical reflection has emerged, as teachers are able to review their teaching practices through recorded learning videos. However, the implementation of digital supervision still faces several challenges, including variations in teachers’ ICT skills, internet connectivity issues, resistance to change, and the limited time of the principal. Overall, digital supervision serves as an effective strategy for improving learning quality and teacher professionalism in the era of technology-based education.

Abstract

This article explores the negotiation of Islamic education within secular schooling systems in Europe, focusing on governance challenges, teacher mediation, and pluralistic approaches to identity and tolerance. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), the study synthesizes research conducted in the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, and the United Kingdom to examine how Islamic educational values are accommodated in public frameworks. The findings reveal persistent obstacles, including unequal access to religious education, tensions between religious commitments and secular expectations, and policy asymmetries across national contexts. Teachers are identified as pivotal actors who mediate between Islamic traditions and dominant secular norms, supporting Muslim students’ identity formation while facilitating their social adaptation in plural societies. Furthermore, pluralistic pedagogical orientations are shown to enhance mutual recognition and cultivate students’ capacity to engage constructively with cultural and religious diversity. By highlighting these dynamics, the study contributes policy-relevant insights for designing inclusive educational arrangements that balance religious identity with secular governance, thereby strengthening tolerance and cohesion in Europe’s multicultural environment.
