Abstract

Native chickens have a good potential for production and business opportunities in intensive rearing. Rural communities that have raised native chickens traditionally have difficulties in implementing the intensive rearing method directly. Changes in society can be achieved through a program of activities resulting from social planning which is implemented in stages, systematically, and sustainably. This Community Service Program was aimed to assist rural communities in adopting the intensive rearing method of native chickens gradually. This program was focused on counseling about the management of domestic chicken rearing and the application of the Cage management system by changing the rearing of native chickens from umbaran to colony cage system on the land owned by the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT). Counseling was able to provide additional insight and basic knowledge regarding the intensive rearing of native chickens. The colony cages construction on KWT land was the initial stage of adopting an intensive rearing system. Through this program, KWT members also discovered several problems, which can be solved by this program or by the further implementation of this community service program.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the existence of Zam-zam water trade in Padangsidimpuan City, while the Saudi Arabian government prohibited the export of Zam-zam water. This causes people to suspect that the quality of Zam-zam water circulating in the market is not the same as the Zam-zam water found in Mecca. Therefore, research needs to be carried out to answer these concerns. This research aims to analyze the mineral content of labeled packaged Zam-zam water circulating in Padangsidimpuan City compared with Zam-zam water brought from Mecca City. The mineral concentrations tested were sodium and chloride. This research uses laboratory experimental methods, including quantitative analysis. According to the type of research, the data analysis technique used is to compare the concentration of each mineral in the water labeled Zam-zam with the mineral concentration in the Zam-zam water used as a control. The research results showed that Zam-zam water obtained from Mecca City contained 42.4 mg/L chloride, 2.06 mg/L sodium, while the labeled Zam-zam water circulating in Padangsidimpuan, namely sample 1, contained 160.7 mg/L chloride. sodium 2.06 mg/L in sample 2 contains 50.5 mg/L chloride, sodium 2.17 mg/L. The three Zam-Zam samples circulating in Padangsidimpuan that have been tested show that the quality of Zam-Zam water is suitable for consumption based on determining a good water quality test, namely at the suitability threshold.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the home environment on emotional development in children aged 0-5 years. This research uses a literature view which is carried out by looking at several pieces of literature from other articles. The results obtained in this article are that the influence of a child's emotional development on the home environment is that initially the baby develops a sense of empathy (if he sees a friend crying, the baby will cry too), he can also feel jealous/jelusous towards other children or towards younger siblings if they already have younger siblings, Apart from that, babies can already show shyness. Several factors influence children's emotional development in their home environment, namely, the level of social activity, the child's attitude and temperament, role models from those around them.

Abstract

Candlenut shells are only used as fuel, and some are thrown away, so their use has not been maximized. Because of their high carbon content, candlenut shells may be used to create adsorbents. This study looks at how different activator concentrations of KOH activators can be used to make adsorbents from candlenut shells. The study will investigate how various activator concentrations affect the ability of adsorbents based on candlenut shells to bind molecules. Furthermore, the investigation will examine the possible uses of these adsorbents in diverse sectors, including air purification and wastewater treatment. This research was carried out using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, which consisted of 1 activator KOH concentration of 0.5 M, 1 M, 1.5 M, 2 M, and 2.5 M with 3 replications each. The finding demonstrated that adsorbent products activated with 0.5 M KOH yield the highest quality and satisfied SNI 06-3770-1995 requirements for an ash and water content of 10.21% and 0.98%, respectively. The adsorbent product has an iodine absorption capacity of approximately 639.39 mg/g, comparable to SNI 06-3770-1995. For iron metal, the adsorbent product exhibits an adsorption capacity and absorption efficiency of 0.14 mg/g and 98.30%, respectively. The Freundlich adsorption isotherm model is suitable for this investigation, with a Kf value of 0.14 mg/g and an R2 of 0.9999.
