Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of inclusive education in junior high schools without the presence of Special Assistance Teachers (GPK), as well as to identify strategies for enhancing the learning process for students with special needs (ABK) in inclusive classrooms. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis in three inclusive schools in Pekanbaru. Participants included school principals, classroom teachers, special education teachers, and parents of students with special needs. The findings reveal that inclusive education can still be effectively implemented without GPKs, provided that teachers receive sufficient training through programs such as In-House Training (IHT) and collaborate with external professionals. However, challenges remain, including rigid curricula, limited teacher preparedness, and inadequate teaching resources. The novelty of this research lies in its exploration of innovative inclusion management strategies based on internal teacher training and interdisciplinary collaboration, offering practical alternatives for resource-limited inclusive schools. These insights are expected to inform the development of more adaptive and sustainable inclusive education policies and practices.

Abstract

Implementation of Palm Oil Commodity Pricing Policy in Order to Realize Farmers Welfare (Study in Muaro Jambi Regency). In The social background in Muaro Jambi Regency is closely related to the problem of land ownership distribution. Inequality in land ownership creates significant differences in farmers' ability to benefit from pricing policies. So that farmers with small plots of land often do not get maximum benefits compared to large farmers or companies. The results of the research method that the implementation of palm oil commodity pricing policies in Muaro Jambi Regency generally shows significant efforts from the government to maintain price stability and support farmer welfare. Factors that support the implementation of palm oil commodity pricing policies in Muaro Jambi Regency include good coordination between local and central governments, policies that encourage the use of technology, and the existence of training and incentive programs for farmers to increase productivity. While the inhibiting factors include slow bureaucracy, farmer resistance to pricing policies, and limited infrastructure that hinders the distribution of palm oil products to the market.

Abstract

This paper examines the phenomenon of "peripheral Islam," often attributed to Southeast Asian Muslim societies within global Islamic historiography. Using a qualitative and literature-based approach, supported by center-periphery theory, epistemic marginalization, and postcolonial theory, the article reveals how hegemonic narratives—shaped by Orientalists and Arab-centric standards—have reduced Southeast Asian Islam to a secondary and inauthentic form. The study finds that the Malay-Nusantara region possesses a strong intellectual heritage, transnational scholarly networks, and local religious practices rich in epistemic and cultural resistance. By highlighting the role of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), Malay Islamic literature, and local Islamic models such as Islam Kejawen and Islam Hadhari, this paper asserts that Southeast Asian Islam is an integral and contributive part of global Islamic civilization. The article calls for a reconstruction of perspectives on Southeast Asian Islam, viewing it not as a periphery, but as an alternative center within a plural, contextual, and transformative Islam.

Abstract

The narrative of “Islam is Malay, and Malay is Islam” has become a dominant identity construct in Riau. This article unpacks how such a narrative operates as a hegemonic discourse that excludes non-Muslim Indigenous communities—such as the Akit, Talang Mamak, and Anak Rawa peoples—from being recognized as part of the "Malay group." Drawing on Michel Foucault’s theory of power-knowledge and decolonial approaches in religious studies, this research reveals mechanisms of exclusion through language, cultural policy, and the distribution of resources—all of which privilege the dominant identity. At the same time, Indigenous communities engage in cultural resistance through silence, concealed spiritual practices, and adaptive identity strategies. This article calls for a re-reading of Malay identity through a more pluralistic and inclusive lens, and proposes a decolonial framework as a pathway toward representational and cultural justice in the Riau region.

Abstract

This research explores the phenomenon of a Malay language shift in Duri City, Bengkalis Regency, within a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. This shift is driven not only by demographic changes, such as the large-scale migration of Minangkabau, Batak, and Javanese communities, but also by ideological dynamics embedded in the language itself. Once a symbol of Malay-Islamic culture and civilization, the Malay language has increasingly become associated with specific religious identities. This exclusivist framing led to resistance from non-Muslim groups. Using a qualitative-descriptive method and critical sociolinguistic approach, this study demonstrates that the Malay language has lost its inclusive communicative function. Instead, it has evolved into a symbolic marker that generates social boundaries and constructs identity. Drawing on theories of language ideology (Irvine & Gal, 2000) and linguistic capital (Bourdieu), this research finds that language choice in Duri’s public space is no longer merely pragmatic. It functions as a means of representing and symbolizing resistance to perceived cultural domination. This study recommends a reorientation of language ideology and the implementation of policies to revitalize the Malay language as a symbol of inclusive culture—one that transcends religious and ethnic divides.

Abstract

Employee performance in improving academic services was accentuated in this study. With respect to the context of higher education, employee performance among educational personnel is considered a key factor to achieving institutional goals. A survey in 2021 on the management of Faculty of Administrative Sciences highlighted time inefficiency amidst the educational personnel playing a role to interfere academic services for students. A number of students sued that any procedures of academic services were supposed to be less time-consuming. Moreover, this study was conducted by means of Indicators of Elements for performance assessment in relevance with Hasibuan’s in Lubis (2018: 4). Findings revealed results of job performance assessments of which criteria were composed of quality and quantity of personnel: the former discussing how good and helpful they were at work, while the latter speaking of workload they could manage and complete. As a matter of a fact, workload for educational personnel was composed of their respective main tasks and multitasking ability to manage other tasks for maximum coverage, but less than 100%. In addition, some inhibiting factors were also unwrapped, which included personality and behavior aspects. It was found that the personnel were not so friendly, lacking of institutional training programs, and consuming too much time for giving good services to students. In a nutshell, to reinforce academic services, it is necessary that the educational personnel be supported with proper training programs to master and run required duties and functions well, adequate technology systems, and SOPs for specific services.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of teacher performance on student learning outcomes in mathematics using quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitatively, linear regression analysis revealed a strong positive correlation, with a regression coefficient of 0.563, meaning each unit increase in teacher performance led to a 0.563 unit improvement in student outcomes. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.276) indicated that 27.6% of the variance in student achievement was explained by teacher performance, while other unexamined factors affected 72.4%. A T-test supported these findings, with a significance level of 0.01 (below the 0.05 threshold) and a t-value of 2.724, exceeding the critical value of 2.005, confirming statistical significance. These results affirm that teacher performance significantly impacts students' mathematical achievement. However, the relatively low R² suggests that other variables—such as curriculum quality, student motivation, parental involvement, or classroom environment—play essential roles. Qualitatively, the study underscores the need for further research to explore broader determinants of educational success and strategies to enhance teacher performance. By integrating both methods, the study provides a comprehensive understanding of how teacher quality shapes student learning and highlights the complexity of educational outcomes that extend beyond teacher-related factors.

Abstract

This study reveals the tradition of inheritance distribution among the Maduranese community and analyzes it using the maslahah of al-Tūfi. Although the entire Maduranese community adheres to Islam, in terms of inheritance distribution, they tend to apply customary inheritance law, only a small portion of which applies Islamic inheritance law (farāidh). This research is qualitative research; the data is obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. This study found that most Maduranese people only give inheritance portion to children's groups, rarely did they include other groups as stipulated in farāidh law. Apart from that, the distribution pattern is also different from one region to another. In Sumenep, for instance, the distribution of inheritance prioritizes girls over boys. In Sampang, priority is given to the eldest child, while in Bangkalan it is prioritized for the youngest child. Only in Pamekasan, the distribution of inheritance is distributed to all family members in equal portions. This pattern of distribution that does not comply with the provisions of Islamic inheritance law, when viewed from the perspective of maslahah al-Tūfi, is still in line with the principles of Islamic law because it aims to bring good, avoid conflict, as well as to adjust to customary provisions and community development.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a civil war that began since the outbreak of the Arab Spring in Yemen in 2011 which until now has not shown perfect peace. This study has adopted descriptive qualitative research whose purpose of this study is to describe how the socio-cultural conditions of the Yemeni people are as a result of the protracted civil war. This research uses conflict theory proposed by Ralf Dahrendorf. The source of data in this study comes from books, journals and articles related to the object under study. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the civil war that has occurred in Yemen since the Arab Spring in 2011 is due to differences in the interests of each group. In addition, the civil war in Yemen also has an impact on the socio-cultural conditions of Yemeni society. The impact caused during the civil conflict in Yemen greatly affects the socio-cultural conditions of the people in the Yemeni area, can be seen by the emergence of various kinds of changes that occur in society. Both in social, educational, cultural, and economic conditions. So it can be said that a conflict certainly creates a change and development. The conflict in Yemen has been going on for quite a long time and has occurred repeatedly because it has not reached a peace agreement, and also the conflict in Yemen has reached the stage of violence, namely war. So the changes that occur can be radical or structural changes to Yemeni society.
