Abstract

Mutations with gamma rays conducted on five local rice varieties tidal South Kalimantan produce a lot of data availability. In order for these data not only become a graveyard of useless data required a method that could be used to probe the hidden information from the data. The method known as data mining. Data mining is a technique to gain knowledge from the data by looking for certain patterns or rules of a number of large amounts of data. One method of data mining is clustering, where clustering is usually used to group objects that are similar in the same class or segment. By utilizing the data of local rice varieties tidal South Kalimantan mutated by gamma rays, data mining process is done by grouping the data based on the harvest age, productive tillers, and weight of 1000 seeds into 4 groups using fuzzy c-means algorithm. From that cluster information, carried ranking using the Simple Additive Weighting method and acquired knowledge about improved varieties by harvest age, productive tillers, and a weight of 1000 is kuatek with a dose of 30 krad. Keywords : Data Mining, Cluster, Fuzzy C-Means, Local Rice Varieties Mutasi dengan sinar gamma yang dilakukan terhadap lima varietas padi lokal pasang surut kalimantan selatan enghasilkan tersedianya banyak data. Agar data-data tersebut tidak hanya menjadi kuburan data yang tidak berguna dibutuhkan sebuah metode yang bisa digunakan untuk menggali informasi–informasi tersembunyi dari data tersebut. Metode tersebut dikenal dengan data mining. Data mining merupakan suatu teknik untuk menggali pengetahuan dari data dengan mencari pola atau aturan tertentu dari sejumlah data dalam jumlah besar. Salah satu metode data mining adalah klastering, dimana klastering biasanya digunakan untuk mengelompokan objek-objek yang memiliki kemiripan dalam kelas atau segmen yang sama. Dengan memanfaatkan data varietas padi hasil mutasi dengan sinar gamma dilakukan proses penggalian data dengan cara mengelompokkan data umur panen, anakan produktif, dan bobot 1000 menjadi 4 klaster menggunakan algoritma fuzzy c-means. Dari informasi 4 klaster tersebut, dilakukan perangkingan klaster menggunakan metode Simple Additive Weighting dan diperoleh pengetahuan tentang varietas unggul berdasarkan umur panen, anakan produktif, dan bobot 1000 yaitu kuatek dengan dosis 30 krad. Abstract

Many studies have concluded that traditional house works in close relationship with climate of a place. The studies also stated that building played an important role in determining the good indoor climatic conditions, but some of the study indicated that aside from the influence of building, occupant also governed the climatic performance. The present study closely investigated traditional Savunese house in East Nusa Tenggara-Indonesia, and was aimed to identify relationship of occupancy pattern with thermal condition of the building. Primary data were obtained from field observation and interview. These included indoor, outdoor air temperature, and occupancy pattern. Data obtained from BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency), representing average climatic condition of a ten-year period. The measurement of air temperature was done using Memory Hilogger, and observation and structured interviewed sheets were employed to record occupancy pattern. The study showed that during the dry season, the building was only experienced daily comfortable conditions for 14 hours (58%). Out of these 14 hour comfortable conditions, 79% of the time occurred when the inhabitant were in the building. The study concluded that building elements were not the sole determinant of its good performance, but the way inhabitant occupied the house was also the contributor.

Abstract

Housing needs are an urgent necessity for middle income residents in several areas in Surabaya. Thus, there are several dense settlements that were built illegally. The government provides the solution of simple rental flats (Rusunawa) as their substitute residence. Relocation of illegal settlement to rusunawa is often rejected by the inhabitant because oftentimes the design does not accommodate basic needs according to inhabitant’s perceptual and subjective view. Space invasion as a lifestyle expression of informal settlement is often overlooked when designing a simple, low-cost apartment buildings (Rusunawa). The purpose of this study is to propose a flexible architectural concept, based on observations of space invasion exploration gathered from field studies. This study is initiated from an exploratory thinking which drives the formation of the architectural design-based research to determine the design issue, hypothesis and design mapping based on the method of conceptual design. Literature and precedent studies are obtained to propose the first hypothesis that will be applied and explored through field research investigation. The field study is conducted at the riverbank’s settlement of Medokan Semampir Indah Tangkis Surabaya, which has a creative pattern and expression of space invasion. Our hypothesis states that spatial invasion activities are ways of expressing the lifestyle of people who live in riverbanks settlement. The Spatial invasion is expressed in domestic, social and economic activities. The results are then used as main idea or primary force for the concept design of collective residence, and to provide design criteria and parameters that suits to the needs and desires of the inhabitants.

Abstract

The physical environment is considered as one factor which has an influence on individual’s creative capacity. While the physical setting may not directly induce one’s creativity, its effect on creativity is shown in the way it is perceived and utilized by the individual. Therefore, through subjective experience, the built environment may actively hinder or encourage one’s creative capacity. Thus, the design of creative spaces is one of architectural interest to potentially aid creative activities by focusing on the users experience of the physical setting. This paper aims to compose a design concept and criteria to address the needs of creative spaces. The literature review examines perception and experience of the built environment, sensory considerations and creativity. Therefore, a phenomenological study is used to investigate individual’s perception and subjective experience of the physical environment during the creative process. The result of this study shows that considering individuals’ needs, the design criteria is centered on movement, sensory information and social engagement. The concept derived is based on architecture as ‘adventure’, since it communicates an experience analogous to the creative process. Features of the concept are then applied to massing and form, social engagement, the natural environment and movement as an eventful experience.

Abstract

Balai Padang Adat is one of the traditional building in tropical area. The characteristic of this building is large, long and deep dimention but it has limited area of the openings. Field meassurement for 3 days and 3 times (09.00, 12.00, 15.00) is used to identify factors that affect daylighting performance. This research found that daylighting performance was in poor quality. The outdoor illumination is very high which reached 100.000 lux caused by latitude, altitude and cloud cover. The latitude is 2o in the south from the equator’s line and the altitude is 450 meters above sea level which close from the sun. The cloud cover is minimum lower than 40%. The indoor illumination can reach 1 lux as the lowest level during the day caused by obstruction, overhang, shape and space of the building, material reflectance, area and position of the openings. There is a building in the west and east and a vegetation in the south as an obstruction. This building has a large dimention with double layer room, but it has minimum material reflectance of the wall and floor. This building has a minimum area of the openings, high position of the openings near the overhangs and also long dimention of the overhang. Meassurement was done in Laras-Pematang room as a living room and Bilik room as a bedroom and kitchen. Overall, daylighting performance of this building can not meet standart activity such as illumination value, daylighting factors and daylighting distribution from morning to the evening.

Abstract

In urban areas, especially urban settlements, low thermal comfort at pedestrian height and the high use of building energy are two interrelated conditions. Geometry of built environment is a factor that correlates with thermal conditions of the location and comfort. Understanding how geometry of built environment affects conditions and thermal comfort can be the basis for improving thermal condition as well as increasing thermal comfort. This study examines the influence of urban settlement geometry to thermal conditions and thermal comfort of urban space. An experiment was carried out on ten blocks, consisting of two block models and two orientations: Blocks with Different Height-to-Width Ratio (H / W = 0.8-1.5-2.3) and Blocks with the Same Height-to-Width Ratio but With Different Left-Right Height (H / W = 1.5-1.5'-1.5 "), respectively in the North-South and East-West orientation. The ENVI-met 3.1 program was used to simulate the conditions and thermal comfort of the blocks in the hottest day conditions. The results of this study indicate the geometry of the urban settlement influences two factors or thermal environment, i.e., direct solar radiation reception or block irradiation duration and wind speed. Features of the geometry affecting the thermal conditions are angle of the sky opening and block's orientation towards incoming winds. These two features are regarded as the dominant factor influencing the overall thermal conditions and comfort of the settlement blocks. This study also confirms that hight-width (H/W) ratio as the main parameter governing thermal conditions and comfort of the block.

Abstract

Modern minimalist, Mediterranean and Modern tropical style are commonly found architecture styles in residences in Surabaya in the past decade. However, it is ironic that most of the styles are imported products which have different response level towards the local climate due to the fact that they are not designed for humid tropical areas. Thus, the choice of style has become really important so that the building can respond well to climate. This research was conducted on three architecture styles with three variants of each in a residential area in East Surabaya. This paper evaluates thermal performances and the influence of envelope elements on the thermal conditions in each sample house and evaluates which style that is potentially applicable to the humid tropical climate by using simulation method with the assistance of ECOTECT software. The results show that the variant B of modern minimalist style has the best envelope performance. Overall, house envelope with the original design is not effective enough. Design modification with good and suitable elements for the B variant of the Modern minimalist and Mediterranean turn out to be resulting in a more effective in solving thermal problems.

Abstract

This research reviews the theories and design of energy-saving office buildings that apply evaporative cooling concepts to inhibit solar heat and improve natural cooling. The limited land in urban areas forces the building orientation facing East-West to increase building heat gain in tropical regions. This research is interesting because evaporative cooling is rarely found in office building design, especially in tropical areas. The method used is literature searching (theory, journal, and president) related to the energy-saving building (passive design) and passive cooling with evaporative cooling techniques. A review of design strategies can be used as a reference for general criteria applied at the design stage of office building architectural design. As a limitation, questions are needed to find related theories such as (1) what are the factors of building heat control and the criteria required in designing energy-saving office building (2) how to apply evaporative cooling techniques to design the energysaving office building. Solar heat is a key factor in building heat gain. So it must be noticed to control building heat to protect heat transfer into buildings. The results of the design energy saving office buildings in the tropical region have required the application of passive designs such as building orientation, building core placement, shading elements, cross ventilation, natural lighting, producing shape, and application of evaporative cooling with consideration of wind direction and hottest side due to solar radiation

Abstract

Abstrak— Bahasa merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk berkomunikasi oleh masyarakat baik berupa sistem lambang bunyi dan simbol yang dihasilkan oleh alat ucap manusia. Bagi pembelajar bahasa Jepang khususnya tingkat SMA, selain karena pemakaian tata bahasa yang cukup rumit, kemampuan untuk mengingat kosakata bahasa Jepang pun sangat rendah. Kemampuan dalam memahami kosakata sangatlah penting dalam mempelajari proses sebuah bahasa. Dekichau Meishi dapat diartikan “bisa kosakata kata benda”. Sehingga dengan adanya aplikasi ini dapat membantu dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang mengenai pengenalan nama-nama benda dalam bahasa Jepang. Pengembangan Game Dekichau Meishi Berbasis Android menggunakan siklus hidup pengembangan perangkat lunak SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) dengan model waterfall atau model air terjun. Fitur-fitur dalam aplikasi ini bertujuan sebagai media belajar kosakata kata benda. Adapun fitur dari aplikasi ini yaitu jenis meishi, permainan, pengaturan, bantuan, skor tertinggi. Perancangan aplikasi Game Dekichau Meishi Berbasis Android telah berhasil dilakukan dengan menggunakan model fungsional berupa UML (Unified Modeling Languange), yaitu dengan menggunakan use case diagram dan activity diagram. Game Dekichau Meishi Berbasis Android diimplementasikan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Java dengan editor Eclipse dan plug-insADT(Android Development Tools) serta menggunakan AndEngine sebagai library tambahan.Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa aplikasi Game Dekichau Meishi Berbasis Android mendapatkan respon positif. Kata kunci – Bahasa Jepang, Meishi, Android, Game Abstract — Language is a tool that use to communicate by community either in emblem sound and the symbolic that produced by human vocal organs. For the Japanese learners, especially high school level, beside because the usage of grammar that complicated enough, the ability of remembering Japanese vocabulary is very low. The ability in understanding vocabulary is very important in learning the process of language. Dekichau Meishi can be interpreted as “be able in understanding vocabularies of noun”. So with this application can assist in learning Japanese about introducing the objects name in Japanese. Development of the Game Dekichau Meishi Berbasis Android is using the software development life cycle SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) with the waterfall model. Features in this application are intended as a learning vocabularies of noun. The features of this application are the type of meishi, game, setting, help and high score. Application design Android -Based Game Dekichau Meishi has been successfully done using functional models such as UML ( Unified Modeling Language) , which is using use case diagrams and activity diagrams . Android -Based Game Dekichau Meishi implemented using the Java programming language with the editor and the Eclipse plug - insADT ( Android Development Tools ) and using as a library AndEngine tambahan.Berdasarkan results of tests performed can be known that the application of Android -Based Game Dekichau Meishi get a positive response . Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah  tatanan birokrasi di Indonesia sehingga membuat Pemerintah harus mengadopsi perkembangan teknologi informasi melalui layanan berbasis e-government. Perpustakaan Nasional RI merupakan lembaga pemerintah yang melaksanakan layanan publik informasi terbitan pemerintah di bidang hukum berdasarkan UU Deposit. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkah rancangan  sistem e-government melalui repository hukum peraturan perundang-undangan yang lebih terstruktur,  lebih mudah ditemukan, lebih fleksibel dalam pencarian serta terintegrasi sehingga termutakhirkan. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan mengevaluasi repository hukum pada 12 kementerian 10 lembaga non kementerian, 4 provinsi dan 8 kabupaten kota dengan melakukan uji terhadap komponen human computer interaction, uji interoperabilitas dan uji manajemen repository institusi. Hasil penelitian penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) aspek human computer interaction masih belum mengikuti standar internasional , (2) aspek interoperabilitas belum mengikuti standar metadata repository institusi, (3) pada aspek manajemen repository ditemukan belum adanya efektifitas dalam mengolah konten informasi dan aspek usablity portal. Berdasarkan  penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan nahwa portal e-government layanan terbitan hukum yang ada saat ini belum efisien, efektif serta belum terintegrasi. Perancangan sistem dilakukan dengan desain sistem yang sesuai standar melalui perancangan ulang proses bisnis dan desain antar muka sistem.
