Abstract

The Integrated Participatory Development and Management Irrigation Program (IPDMIP) is an innovative approach to achieve a sustainable irrigation system. This effort is expected to support the achievement of rice self-sufficiency in accordance with the Indonesian Government's Nawacita program. The purpose of this study was to estimate the technical, allocative and economic efficiencies of rice farming in West Nusa Tenggara Province. Data were collected purposively from 240 samples, with 120 samples that followed the program, and 120 samples non-program. Estimation of allocative and economic efficiency using Stochastic Frontier (SFA) with Cobb-Douglas production function model. The results showed that the factors affecting program rice production were land area, seeds, urea fertilizer, and NPK fertilizer, while non-program were land area, seeds, NPK fertilizer, and organic fertilizer. The average achievement of technical, allocative, and economic efficiency of the rice farming program was 0.906; 0.839, and 0.761 while the non-program was 0.741; 0.794, and 0.892. To achieve the level of allocative and economic efficiency, farmers need to improve the achievement of technical efficiency. Keywords: economic efficiency, irrigation, production factors, rice paddy

Abstract

Air Vice Marshal (Anm.) Nurtanio Pringgoadisuryo is an Indonesian aviation hero who remains largely unknown to the younger generation. To raise awareness about him, an engaging and interactive application is required. A Visual Novel can serve as an ideal medium to introduce or preserve the legacy of Air Vice Marshal (Anm.) Nurtanio. The historical Visual Novel about L.M.U Nurtanio was developed using Ren’Py software, a tool for creating visual novels with a simplified version of the Python programming language. The application development followed the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), which includes the stages of Concept, Design, Material Collection, Assembly, Testing, and Distribution. This application is accessible on Android-based devices. The design and development of this Android-based historical Visual Novel about L.M.U Nurtanio provide a more engaging and interactive learning medium for Android users.

Abstract

Secara umum air tanah diartikan sebagai air yang berada dan berasal dari lapisan tanah, baik air yang berada pada lapisan tanah tak jenuh maupun air yang berada pada lapisan tanah jenuh. Air yang berada pada lapisan tanah tak jenuh (soil water) akan menunjang kehidupan vegetasi di permukaan. Sedangkan air yang berada pada lapisan tanah jenuh (groundwater) menjadi simpanan air di dalam lapisan tanah yang bisa keluar melalui mata air (artesis), atau tinggal dalam lapisan tanah sebagai air fosil (fossil water). Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui lokasi pembinaan dan pengawasan penggunaan air tanah yang ada di Kota Makassar dan untuk mengetahui peta konservasi air tanah yang ada di Kabupaten Bantaeng. Dari hasil pengamatan langsung yang dilakukan di beberapa daerah yang ada di wilayah Kota Makassar, diketahui bahwa sebagian besar kawasan industri memiliki kecenderungan menggunakan air tanah dibandingkan mengggunakan air PDAM. Setiap kawasan indusri setidaknya memiliki lebih dari satu sumur air tanah yang digunakan. Namun banyak dari pengelola kawasan, tidak dapat menunjukkan surat izin untuk penggunaan air tanah dan upaya untuk melakukan upaya konservasi air tanah. Sehingga harus dilakukan upaya lebih dalam mengawasi penggunaan air tanah oleh kawasan industri dan juga melakukan upaya pembinaan sehingga penggunaan air tanah tidak dipakai secara berlebihan.

Abstract

Background: Diabetic wounds are difficult to treat, causing persistent infections and often leading to limb amputation. One convenient way to manage diabetic wounds is by applying wound dressings. This study aimed to develop a wound dressing in form of a gel containing brown algae and binahong leaf extract for diabetic wound dressings.Methods:  This study was an experimental study conducted in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia from June to September 2022. As many as 33 mice induced by alloxan were divided into 9 groups consisting of application of brown algae extract gel, binahong lead extract gel and a mixture of brown algae, and binahong leaf extract gel with the concentration of 2.5%, 5%, and 10% respectively. All treatments were given within 7 days. Laboratory data collected included phytochemical screening, total phenolic compound, antioxidant activity and organoleptic test.Results: Brown algae and binahong leaf extracts had a high total phenolic content of 331.25 mg GAE/g and 207.01 mg GAE/g, respectively with antioxidant activity of IC50 = 327.33 µg/mL and 209.30 µg/mL, respectively. It was found that brown algae and binahong leaf extracts could accelerate wound closure in a diabetic mouse model. Gel formulation with 10% w/w brown algae extracts presented 91.66% of wound closure, two times greater than treatment with commercial drugs.Conclusion:  The developed gel containing brown algae and binahong leaf extracts can be a promising wound dressing for healing diabetic wounds.

Abstract

Efforts to increase economic growth in Indonesia, the discourse that is often discussed is the use of the creative economy concept. In connection with the government's efforts to realize creative economic development and create halal products, the position of the government in increasing MSMEs is urgently needed. The purpose of this community service is to provide training on the latest insights to all parties involved in developing micro-enterprises through the creative economy. The method of implementing the activity consists of several stages. In the preparatory stage the team conducted a location survey, strengthening and determining target locations, and preparing socialization materials. In addition, participants participated in assistance in making halal products. The implementation stage of the program is in the form of lectures or outreach, tutorial activities, discussions and MSME training assistance. The material presented in the socialization is in the form of an introduction to the production process of halal products and provides direction in making halal labels. The results and outputs of the activities after the socialization was carried out, namely first, introducing the production process for halal products to the public, in this case the socialization team provided an understanding of how important the distribution of industrial potential is through the creative economy. Second, provide assistance in the form of making halal labels where at this stage the socialization team provides an understanding that in Islam products cannot contain harmful ingredients because they will have a negative impact on consumers and society.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify and describe: (1) the influence of the principal's leadership on teacher performance; (2) the influence of the work environment on teacher performance; and (3) the combined influence of the principal's leadership and the work environment on teacher performance. This study was carried out in Kayuagung District Public High School in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, with 59 teachers as participants. Techniques for collecting data include surveys or questionnaires, recordkeeping, and interviews. Construction and content validity are used in the validity test. Cronbach's Alpha is used in the dependability test. Analysis precondition tests include the normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests. Simple linear regression and multiple linear regression approaches were used to evaluate the data. The findings revealed that: (1) the principal's leadership has an impact on teacher performance; (2) the work environment has an impact on teacher performance; and (3) the school principal's leadership and the work environment have an impact on teacher performance.

Abstract

This study was investigating the students’ cognitive engagement in learning vocabulary through Educard media. The objectives of this study were to find out the way Educard facilitates the students’ cognitive engagement in learning vocabulary through Educard and students’ responses. The participants of this research are five students of eighth grade in one of junior high school. This study used a qualitative approach. The data were collected through interviews with five students of eighth grade and documentation. The research result showed that the students are facilitated by using Educard as learning media to learn vocabulary and engage them cognitively. The students experience many kinds of cognitive engagement while using Educard to learn English vocabulary including self-regulated learning, resource management, recipients, and task focus. Moreover, Educard builds them cognitive activities in learning vocabulary.

Abstract

Migrant students often have difficulty understanding the culture and language of local students. So that students anxious when meeting and interanting directly with students on the STAB Negeri Raden Wijaya Wonogiri campus. The adaptability and communication skills of migrant students are relatively low due to the cultural differences between migrant students and local environment. This research aims to analyze the adaptation and communication skills of migrant students in Wonogiri. In this research, researchhers used quantitative methods and the research was designed as explanatory survey research. The results of the research show that overseas students are able to interact and communicate with local students who of course have different cultures. Apart from that, as long as migrant students adapt and communicate, migrant students learn a lot about the culture that exists in the STAB Negeri Raden Wijaya Wonogiri campus environment and they learn that adaptation and communication are really needed when they in a new living environment. The statistical test results show that each categories shows a high category and percentage.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of gamma radiation from Cesium-137 on the growth of bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) to understand its impact on plant quality. The Cesium-137 source was applied at a constant distance of 200 cm from the wall, using dose variations of 0 (control), 25 mGy, 50 mGy, 75 mGy, 100 mGy, and 125 mGy. The seeds used in this research were sourced from the Arango bean plantation in Arabika Village, Sinjai Barat District. A descriptive statistical analysis method was employed, presenting the data in tables that were then converted into graphs to illustrate the germination time (in days), stem height (cm), leaf width (cm), and leaf count (number of leaves). The results revealed that sample D, exposed to a radiation dose of 75 mGy, took only 5 days to germinate, with an average stem height of 45 cm, leaf width of 10.6 cm, leaf count of 16 leaves, and an average fruit mass of 0.008 kg. In contrast, the normal germination time for bean plants is 7 days, with a stem height of approximately 30 cm, leaf width of 6 cm, leaf count of 14 leaves, and a fruit mass of 0.006 kg. However, it was observed that both excessively low and high radiation doses could hinder the growth of bean plants.

Abstract

Adanya siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas tinggi belum bisa fokus dalam mendengarkan dan membaca karena penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang kurang menarik bagi siswa di ruang kelas.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi penerapan Strategi Direct Listening Thinking Approach (DLTA) dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak di tingkat sekolah dasar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat kualitatif dengan pendekatan siklus, di mana setiap siklus melibatkan observasi dan wawancara untuk memperdalam pemahaman serta mengklarifikasi temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus pertama, 72% siswa mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), yang meningkat menjadi 78% pada siklus kedua. Rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa juga meningkat, dari 63 pada siklus I menjadi 74,7 pada siklus II. Selain itu, aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran meningkat dari 63% pada siklus I menjadi 70% pada siklus II, sementara aktivitas guru meningkat dari 64% pada siklus I menjadi 78% pada siklus II. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi DLTA efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa dan memperbaiki efektivitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.
