Abstract

Abstract Heat exchanger is a device used to transfer thermal energy between two or more fluids at different temperatures. This study aims to develop an efficient shell and tube heat exchanger design that is accompanied by an increase in the overall heat transfer coefficient on the shell and tube sides simultaneously. This study focuses on the impact of using helical baffles and twisted tape inserts technology on the total heat transfer coefficient (U) and pressure drop (ΔP). This study analyzes the effect of employing helical baffles on the shell side and twisted tape inserts on the tube side, with optimization using the Genetic Algorithm (GA) method. The independent variables considered include the helical baffles angle (β), the spacing between baffles (Lbc), the thickness of the twisted tape (δ), and the half-pitch of the twisted tape (H). The optimization objective function for both the shell side and tube side is to maximize the overall heat transfer coefficient, while the restriction is that the pressure drop must not surpass the starting design data value. In this study, the E-1-06 heat exchanger was successfully modeled. The modeling data showed only slight differences between the modeling results and the initial data sheet. The deviation value of the overrall heat transfer coefficient (U) = 0.06%, ∆Ps = 0.00%, and ∆Pt = 0.06%. Optimization of the E-1-06 heat exchanger was also successful. Optimization in this study was able to increase the U value by 3.97%, while the ∆Ps value decreased by -2.01% and ∆Pt by -19.11%. The findings indicate that the modified design is capable of enhancing thermal performance without compromising hydraulic efficiency, thereby demonstrating its potential for application in energy processing systems and industrial cooling.AbstrakHeat exchanger adalah perangkat yang digunakan untuk menyalurkan energi termal antara dua atau lebih fluida pada suhu yang berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain heat exchanger shell dan tube yang efesien yang disertai dengan peningkatan koefisien perpindahan kalor secara keseluruhan pada sisi shell dan tube secara bersamaan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada dampak penggunaan teknologi helical baffles dan twisted tape insert pada koefisien perpindahan kalor total (U) dan penurunan tekanan/ Pressure drop (ΔP). Pada awalnya heat exchanger ini menggunakan teknologi segmental baffle pada sisi shell dan plain tube pada sisi tube, kemudian desainnya dimodifikasi dengan teknologi yang berbeda, desain pada sisi shell digunakan teknologi helical baffle sedangkan pada sisi tube digunakan teknologi twisted tape. Metode optimisasi yang digunakan adalah Genetic Algoritm (GA). Variabel bebas yang digunakan untuk melakukan optimisasi pada sisi shell adalah sudut helical baffle (ß) dan jarak antar baffle (Lbc) yang ada dalam heat exchanger. Sedangkan variabel bebas yang digunakan pada sisi tube adalah thickness of twisted tape (?), dan half pitch of twisted tape (H). Fungsi tujuan (objective function) optimisasi pada sisi shell dan sisi tube yaitu koefisien perpindahan panas secara keseluruhan (overrall heat transfer coefficient) yang maksimal dan constraint pada optimisasi ini yaitu penurunan tekanan (pressure drop) yang besar nilainya tidak boleh melampaui nilai dari data awal design. Pada penelitian ini heat exchanger E-1-06 berhasil dimodelkan. Data permodelan menunjukkan hanya sedikit perbedaan antara hasil permodelan dengan data sheet awal. Nilai deviasi overrall heat transfer coefficient (U) = 0.06%, ∆Ps=0.00%, dan ∆Pt= 0.06%. Optimisasi Heat exchanger E-1-06 juga berhasil dilakukan. Optimisasi pada penelitian ini mampu menaikan nilai U sebesar 3.97%, sementara nilai ∆Ps mengalami penurunan sebesar -2.01% dan ∆Pt sebesar -19.11%.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di sekolah dasar sering kali dianggap monoton dan kurang menarik bagi siswa. Padahal, materi IPS sangat dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari dan seharusnya bisa menjadi pelajaran yang menyenangkan. Dalam era digital saat ini, teknologi multimedia membuka peluang baru untuk mengubah cara pembelajaran menjadi lebih hidup dan bermakna. Melalui video, animasi, dan simulasi interaktif, siswa tidak hanya belajar dari buku, tetapi juga mengalami sendiri proses belajar yang lebih visual dan interaktif.Artikel ini mengajak pembaca untuk melihat bagaimana teknologi multimedia dapat menjadi solusi kreatif dalam mengatasi kebosanan siswa terhadap materi IPS. Dengan pendekatan yang lebih menarik, siswa didorong untuk aktif berpikir, terlibat, dan memahami materi secara lebih dalam. Tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, teknologi ini juga membantu membangkitkan semangat dan rasa ingin tahu siswa selama proses belajar.Penggunaan multimedia tentu tidak bisa dipisahkan dari tantangan, seperti keterbatasan fasilitas atau kesiapan guru dalam mengelola teknologi. Namun, dengan perencanaan yang matang dan pelatihan yang tepat, multimedia dapat menjadi jembatan antara dunia digital dan kebutuhan pembelajaran siswa sekolah dasar. Artikel ini memberikan gambaran tentang potensi besar multimedia dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menarik, menyenangkan, dan relevan dengan zaman.

Abstract

Physical fitness is an essential component for vocational high school (SMK) students, as it directly relates to their productivity and readiness for future work demands. This study aimed to examine the effect of gamification-based Physical Education on the physical fitness of vocational high school students in Palu, South Sulawesi. A quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design was employed with a sample of 30 students divided into two groups: an experimental group (physical education learning with gamification) and a control group (conventional physical education learning). Standardized physical fitness tests—including flexibility, muscular strength, endurance, and BMI—were administered before and after the intervention. Results showed that the experimental group’s average score increased from 2.73 (pre-test) to 4.60 (post-test), while the control group improved from 2.67 to 4.20. Paired sample t-tests confirmed significant improvements within both groups (p < 0.05). However, the independent sample t-test indicated no significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.077 > 0.05). These findings suggest that gamification can effectively enhance students’ physical fitness within a group, but its short-term implementation does not demonstrate superiority over conventional methods. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on innovative approaches in physical education, particularly in vocational schools, where physical readiness is closely linked to employability. Gamification shows potential as a complementary strategy to boost student motivation and engagement in physical education. Future research is recommended with longer intervention periods, larger samples, and consideration of external variables to optimize the impact of gamification on physical fitness.

Abstract

This article is the result of community service activities carried out collaboratively by students, teachers, and lecturers of the University of Muhammadiyah Buton through the School Field Introduction (PLP) 2 program at SD Negeri 1 Wameo. The purpose of this activity is to instill and internalize the values of local wisdom as the basis for the formation of peace-loving character in elementary school students. The implementation method includes three main stages, namely: (1) character development through an educational approach, (2) application of local values through interactive and contextual activities such as role-playing, and (3) strengthening and interpreting character through reflection and habituation. The local values raised are sourced from the Buton cultural philosophy, namely PO-5: Pomaamaasiaka (loving each other), Popiapiara (caring for each other), Pomaemaeka (mutual respect), Poangka-angkata (raising each other's dignity), and Pobincibinciki (caring for each other's feelings). The results of the activity showed that students not only understood grades cognitively, but were also able to experience them emotionally and socially in daily life. This activity proves that an approach based on local wisdom can be an effective strategy in strengthening character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to assist the Amanah Water Distributor in efficiently managing its stock of bottled drinking water by applying the Naïve Bayes method. This method analyzes historical sales data from 2023 to 2024 to accurately forecast monthly stock requirements. The developed forecasting system provides restocking recommendations to prevent overstocking—which can increase storage costs—and understocking—which may lead to lost sales opportunities. With more accurate forecasting, the system is expected to improve operational efficiency, minimize the risk of loss, and support more effective decision-making to ensure the sustainability of the Amanah Water Distributor’s business operations.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor kecelakaan pada pengendara adalah ketidakwaspadaan terhadap keadaan jalan maupun lingkungan cuaca. Kecelakaan terjadi kerap dipicu dengan hal-hal sepele yaitu kelalaian dan kurang waspadanya si pengendara. Beberapa kecelakaan kecil sebenarnya dapat diatasi jika memang pengendara mengetahui medan/situasi pada jalan yang dilalui. Untuk itu perlu dibuatkan sistem informasi yang terpasang di jalan agar pengguna jalan lebih waspada. Diangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, di sini dibuat suatu sistem display digital untuk papan informasi kondisi jalan raya. Display Digital dirancang dengan sistem berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang dimana papan informasi ini dapat mendapat update informasinya melalui API web cuaca yang tersedia di internet. Sistem informasi tersebut dibuat dengan menggunakan modul matrix led P10 untuk menampilkan teks dan kontroller ESP32 yang terintegrasi dengan IoT. Pada papan informasi dapat menampilkan informasi berupa cuaca, suhu, kecepatan angin, kelembapan udara, jarak pandang serta keadaan langit saat ini. Dari hasil percobaan, papan informasi ini telah berhasil menampilkan informasi meskipun masih ada sedikit perbedaan dengan data cuaca di BMKG.

Abstract

In the healthcare digitalization era, leveraging strategic information systems (IS) and information technology (IT) through value chain analysis has emerged as a pivotal approach to enhance hospital outcomes. This study aims to develop a framework for integrating IS/IT strategies at Datu Sanggul Hospital, a Class C facility in South Kalimantan, to achieve precision healthcare delivery. The research methodology encompasses data collection via document studies, stakeholder interviews, and observations, coupled with rigorous data analysis and validation techniques. A strategic model formulates algorithms and system architectures guiding implementation of critical IS/IT initiatives like telemedicine, customer relationship management, and executive information systems. Robust IT strategies, including data center development, cloud computing, and disaster recovery planning, optimize operations and resource management. Mapping business needs to tailored IS solutions ensures precision across financial reporting, inventory management, employee training, and interdepartmental collaboration. The proposed approach aligns IS/IT strategies with operational objectives through value chain analysis, enhancing patient care quality, operational efficiency, and resource optimization. Positioning the institution for precision medicine, this framework drives innovation and improves health outcomes in healthcare's evolving landscape.
