Abstract

NT is a Japanese automotive components company that produces automotive products tappet. The quality problem found was the high level ofdefect which was produced in August to October 2024, there were a total of unitsdefect what happened was 4826 units, of the total the type defect dakon chomen became the most dominant, recorded at 2743 units or 57% of the total defect. Therefore, this research is focused on the analysis of the types of defects in dakon chomen. The research method uses the PDCA cycle supported by seven tools (Pareto diagram and fishbone) and 5W1H analysis. Stages plan determine the problem, defect what will be fixed and the causal factors defect, stages do determine the proposed improvements that must be made, the stage check carry out monitoring after carrying out repairs and stages action standardization to maintain product quality. Based on the results of the implementation of the PDCA method, it shows that the number of types defect dakon chomen successfully reduced significantly from 2743 to 1244 units in the period November 2024 to January 2025. This reduction is equivalent to an improvement effectiveness of 55.3%. Keywords: Defect, PDCA, Quality Control, Tappet

Abstract

XYZ is a manufacturing company that produces television back cover components and is required to meet customer quality standards. However, in April, a defect rate of 7% was found, exceeding the company's tolerance limit of 5%, with the dominant type of defect being dirty defects. This situation has led to an increase in customer claims and has affected both quality costs and the company's reputation. This study aims to analyze the causes of dominant defects in back cover products and formulate corrective actions to reduce customer claims using the Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) method. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and production data analysis. Analytical tools include check sheets, Pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams, and 5W+1H analysis. Research results indicate that the implementation of PDCA is able to identify the root causes of defects and generate effective improvement proposals to reduce defect levels and continuously enhance product quality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan kompensasi terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan motivasi kerja sebagai variabel mediasi pada perusahaan manufaktur di Cikarang Selatan. Data dikumpulkan dari 101 karyawan tetap menggunakan kuesioner daring. Analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (koefisien jalur = 0.276, p = 0.046) dan motivasi kerja (koefisien jalur = 0.709, p < 0.001). Kompensasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja (koefisien jalur = 0.262, p = 0.001), tetapi tidak memiliki pengaruh langsung terhadap kinerja karyawan (koefisien jalur = 0.009, p = 0.914). Motivasi kerja terbukti memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (koefisien jalur = 0.667, p < 0.001). Hasil ini menegaskan pentingnya gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi kerja dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan di sektor manufaktur.

Abstract

Proses injection molding merupakan salah satu metode utama dalam industri manufaktur plastik yang menuntut tingkat kualitas produk yang tinggi dan konsistensi proses yang stabil. Tingginya tingkat produk cacat pada proses injection molding dapat menyebabkan pemborosan material, peningkatan biaya produksi, serta penurunan efisiensi sistem produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menurunkan tingkat produk cacat pada komponen plastik melalui pendekatan simulasi sistem produksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah simulasi sistem berbasis pendekatan kuantitatif dengan memodelkan alur produksi injection molding sesuai dengan kondisi aktual di lapangan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung, pengukuran waktu proses, serta data historis produksi dan kualitas. Model simulasi dikembangkan, diverifikasi, dan divalidasi sebelum dilakukan eksperimen dengan beberapa skenario perbaikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan skenario perbaikan berupa penyesuaian waktu siklus, pengaturan aliran material, dan keseimbangan beban kerja mesin mampu menurunkan tingkat produk cacat dari 6,8% menjadi 3,9%, serta meningkatkan output dan utilisasi mesin. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa simulasi sistem produksi dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu pengambilan keputusan yang efektif dalam pengendalian kualitas dan peningkatan kinerja proses injection molding secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Seringkali pekerja di gudang mengalami keluhan tubuh saat bekerja setelah 3 tahun. Pekerja gudang memiliki kombinasi sikap kerja: jongkok, membungkuk, dan bungkuk. Postur tubuh yang tidak ergonomis akan mengganggu pekerjaan, sesuai dengan jenis pekerjaan dan alat atau fasilitas yang digunakan untuk mendukung pelaksanaan operasi kerja. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas antara lain dengan memperhatikan bahaya dan risiko, meliputi lingkungan, kesehatan, dan keselamatan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil analisis yang dilakukan terhadap operator gudang dan kondisi kerja operator, sehingga dapat dihasilkan postur kerja yang nyaman bagi operator gudang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Nordic Body Map (NBM) dan Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) yaitu untuk mengkaji nyeri. Saran untuk perbaikan posisi kerja saat mengangkat barang yaitu pada posisi jongkok dengan badan/punggung tegak, dan dengan anjuran penggunaan peralatan tenaga mekanik agar posisi badan operator menjadi tegak dan meminimalisir terjadinya cedera pada pinggang yaitu nyeri punggung merupakan keluhan tertinggi berdasarkan presentase NBM. Penelitian ini menghasilkan nilai REBA setelah dilakukan perbaikan dengan nilai risiko sebesar 4 yang berarti risiko rendah dan memungkinkan untuk dilakukan pemantauan guna menjaga konsistensi kerja di gudang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and balance the production line in the assembly process using two Line Balancing methods, namely Helgeson–Birnie (H-B) and the Largest Candidate Rule (LCR), with a cycle time (CT) set at 2.28 minutes (137 seconds) based on the manual bottleneck workstation. The total element work time was recorded at 19.39 minutes, with a minimum required number of 9 workstations. The calculation results from both methods showed consistent and identical solutions, yielding 10 actual workstations (N_actual = 10). The line performance achieved a Line Efficiency (LE) of 85.04% with a Balance Delay (BD) of 14.96%. Although this efficiency is considered good, idle time analysis revealed a total waste of 3.41 minutes, most of which occurred at Workstation 10, which operated for only 0.20 minutes. These findings indicate that improvements should focus on restructuring the final workstation to eliminate waste, increase LE, and streamline total element time to approach the Takt Time, thereby optimizing overall line performance. This study provides practical recommendations for production management to enhance productivity and the efficiency of the assembly line.

Abstract

In today’s competitive manufacturing industry, maintaining high production efficiency and minimizing machine downtime are critical challenges, particularly in the food sector. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of ten CBP product packaging machines at PT. XYZ using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. The research employs a quantitative approach based on primary data collected through direct observation and interviews. The OEE method measures machine performance through three indicators: Availability, Performance, and Quality. The results show that the average OEE value from October to December 2023 is 94%, exceeding the world-class standard of 85%. The dominant loss affecting effectiveness was Equipment Failure Losses (50%), followed by Rework and Defect Losses (22% each). These losses are primarily caused by machine wear, material issues, and operator handling errors. The findings indicate that the OEE method serves as an effective tool for monitoring production efficiency and planning preventive maintenance. Regular operator evaluations and standardized maintenance procedures are recommended to sustain high equipment performance levels.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Training and Transformational Leadership on Employee Performance through the mediating role of Work Engagement. The research employs an explanatory quantitative approach with a causal design, using a structural model to test the relationships among variables. Data were collected from 68 employee respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The findings show that all constructs—Training, Transformational Leadership, Work Engagement, and Employee Performance—meet the criteria for reliability and validity. The values of Cronbach’s Alpha, rho_A, Composite Reliability, and AVE are above the established thresholds, confirming that the measurement instruments are both consistent and valid. Furthermore, the R Square results indicate that Work Engagement (R² = 0.820) and Employee Performance (R² = 0.722) are strongly explained by the predictor variables, emphasizing the significant role of the independent variables in influencing the outcomes. Model fit indices, including SRMR, d_ULS, d_G, Chi-square, and NFI, demonstrate that the Estimated Model is consistent with the Saturated Model, thereby confirming the adequacy of the proposed structural model. Overall, the study concludes that the developed model is valid, reliable, and demonstrates a good level of fit, providing strong empirical evidence for the relationships among Training, Transformational Leadership, Work Engagement, and Employee Performance.

Abstract

The continuous use of software and hardware network resources results in overlapping installations at work, which results in uncontrolled operational costs in densely populated conditions, which becomes a dilemma if the arrangement is not organized. This study aims to optimize the position of the Optical Distribution Cabinet (ODC) and Optical Distribution Point (ODP) distribution lines in a distributed Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network as well as the position of customer placement on the ODP, so that the use of fibre optic cables can be minimized. This research method uses a combination of FTTH and Integer Linear Programming (ILP) where the data processing uses LINGO software. The results show that the optimal FTTH network configuration uses a 12-core fibre optic cable, ODP 1:8 passive splitters, and ODC 1:4 splitters. The proposed optimization model successfully reduced the total network deployment cost from Rp78,205,400 to Rp49,085,400, resulting in a cost efficiency improvement of approximately 59.37%. The findings also indicate that the ODP 1:8 configuration is more preferable than ODP 1:4 because it requires fewer cables, reduces network complexity, improves spatial aesthetics, and provides better scalability for future customer expansion. The practical implication of this study is that the proposed ILP-based optimization model can support telecommunications companies in designing FTTH infrastructure more efficiently, reducing installation and maintenance costs, minimizing unnecessary cable deployment, and improving long-term network scalability in densely populated urban environments. The model can also serve as a decision-support tool for future FTTH network expansion planning and infrastructure investment strategies.

Abstract

Perguruan tinggi dituntut tidak hanya memberikan layanan akademik yang baik, tetapi juga memastikan program bantuan pendidikan berjalan efektif agar mampu meningkatkan kepuasan dan loyalitas mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas layanan dan program beasiswa Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah terhadap loyalitas mahasiswa dengan kepuasan mahasiswa sebagai variabel mediasi pada mahasiswa aktif penerima beasiswa di Universitas Pelita Bangsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 100 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dengan skala Likert dan dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling berbasis Partial Least Squares dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan mahasiswa berpengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalitas mahasiswa. Program beasiswa Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan dan loyalitas mahasiswa, baik secara langsung maupun melalui kepuasan sebagai variabel mediasi. Sebaliknya, kualitas layanan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan maupun loyalitas mahasiswa, termasuk melalui kepuasan sebagai variabel mediasi. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi bahwa pengelolaan program beasiswa yang transparan, tepat waktu, dan sesuai kebutuhan mahasiswa lebih berperan dalam membentuk loyalitas dibandingkan kualitas layanan yang dirasakan secara umum.
