Abstract

Having a child is a gift that must be accompanied by a duty of trust. Many Muslim families do not understand the concept of Islamic education in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah so that they are unable to educate children into a rabbani generation that is firm in ethics and morality. The purpose of this study is to find out the value of parents' education towards children by referring to the interpretation of Luqman's letter verses 12-19 by making a comparison between Ibn Katsir's tafsir and Fathu al-Qadir's Tafsir of Imam Asy-Syaukani. The methods used in this study are library research and comparative studies to explore the differences and similarities of interpretation of the two. Analysis is done on key aspects such as interpretation methods, historical context, and religious values considered important in understanding the verses. The source used is a direct reference to the mother books of Ibn Katsir and Fathu al-Qadir along with other references from articles and scientific journals related to the speech. The results of the study indicate that Ibn Katsir emphasized more on traditional aspects and religious values in the upbringing of children, while the Assy-Syaukani priest tended to incorporate social and humanitarian contexts in his understanding. This comparison provides an in-depth insight into the diversity of Islamic perspectives on parents' responsibilities in educating children, as well as their implications for modern educational practices.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate and analyse the relationship between Islamic banking assets and conventional banking assets in Indonesia. The research methodology involves the use of a linear regression test to determine the dependence relationship between Islamic banking assets (dependent) and conventional banking assets (independent). The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant negative relationship between the variables and the dependent variable, with a significance value of 0.441 (> 0.05). The regression equation obtained Y=0.105-0.158X illustrates that if the independent variable (Islamic banking assets) increases, the dependent variable (conventional banking assets) will decrease, and vice versa. This research is expected to provide practical insights for practitioners to help stakeholders make more informational and informed decisions to make more informational and strategic decisions to achieve their goals.

Abstract

Tanwir al-Miqbas min Tafsir Ibni ‘Abbas by Al-Fairuzabadi is a classical tafsir (Quranic exegesis) that compiles the interpretative methodology of Ibnu ‘Abbas and offers a unique perspective in tafsir studies. This study aims to deepen understanding of the interpretative methodology in "Tanwir al-Miqbas," detailing how Ibnu ‘Abbas interpreted the Quran as compiled by Al-Fairuzabadi. Utilizing a qualitative approach and bibliographic research, this study relies on primary and secondary data sources for a descriptive analysis of Al-Fairuzabadi’s biography, interpretative methodology, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of "Tanwir al-Miqbas" tafsir. It reveals that this exegesis emphasizes a global (ijmali) explanation of Quranic verses using popular and accessible language, incorporating narrations of Ibnu ‘Abbas in interpretation. Although considered a tafsir bil ma'tsur, it exhibits broader exploration on certain verses. "Tanwir al-Miqbas" presents an important perspective in tafsir studies, merging ijmali and linguistic interpretative methodologies that directly refer to Prophet Muhammad. Despite questions regarding the validity of its sanad (chain of transmission), this work remains a significant contribution to Quranic exegesis literature.Abstract: Kitab Tanwir al-Miqbas min Tafsir Ibni ‘Abbas karya Al-Fairuzabadi merupakan salah satu tafsir klasik yang menghimpun metodologi penafsiran Ibnu ‘Abbas dan menawarkan perspektif unik dalam studi tafsir.

Abstract

Education in Islam has always been viewed as a means to achieve spiritual and social liberation. Although many studies discuss educational theory in Islam based on the values of liberation, most remain limited to normative approaches and have not yet integrated critical pedagogy theory within the context of Islamic education. This article aims to explore how the principles of liberation found in the Qur’an can be integrated into a critical and transformative Islamic education, and how this integration can address social injustice and oppression in society. The research employs a qualitative approach through Qur’anic text analysis and literature review on critical pedagogy. The main findings indicate that the Qur’an teaches liberation in spiritual, social, and economic dimensions, aligning with Paulo Freire’s theory of critical pedagogy, which views education as a tool to liberate individuals from oppression. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of integrating principles of liberation into the Islamic education curriculum so that education not only encompasses religious knowledge but also fosters social awareness capable of driving change. This approach is expected to produce a more relevant, participatory, and transformative form of Islamic education that contributes to creating a just society free from injustice.

Abstract

This study addresses the underexplored global patterns in research on Islam and morality, which has been fragmented across various academic disciplines. The central problem lies in the absence of a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the existing literature, leaving gaps in understanding the volume, thematic distribution, and geographical trends in the field. The objective of this research is to systematically map the academic output on Islam and morality by employing a bibliometric approach, focusing on the publications indexed in Scopus between 2015 and 2025. The methodology involves three stages: a literature review, a database search for relevant articles, and an in-depth analysis of publication trends, authorship, and thematic connections using tools like RStudio and VOSviewer. The findings indicate a substantial increase in research output from 2015 to 2024, with a notable peak in 2024, signaling a growing interest in the subject. Key thematic areas that emerged from the network analysis include morality, Islamic law, ethics, and gender, demonstrating the interdisciplinary nature of the field. The study also highlights a dominance of certain countries like Indonesia, the United States, and Turkey in contributing to the literature. The results suggest that Islam and morality are gaining importance not only in religious studies but also in bioethics, social sciences, and gender studies. The implications of this research stress the need for further exploration of underrepresented topics, such as sustainability and bureaucracy, and call for increased global collaboration to bridge knowledge gaps.

Abstract

This comparative study analyzes the relevance of the methodology of the interpretation of two Kalimantan scholars, Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari (pre-modern) and Muhammad Basiuni Imran(transitional era), with the framework of muhammadiyah interpretation (modern), focusing on two problem formulations: (1) the intellectual relationship and methodological relevance between the three, and (2) the relevance of their interpretation methods to the development of religion in Kalimantan. With a qualitative method based on literature studies and content analysis, this study finds that there is an intellectual common thread in the spirit of tajdid, the use of rationality, and contextualization, but with fundamental differences in the institutional model in which Muhammadiyah has succeeded in building a sustainable collective model, in contrast to the individual model of the two ulama. The implications of this research offer a historical perspective for the development of a contextual and moderate Indonesian Islamic discourse, as well as conclude that the thoughts of the two scholars have a deep compatibility with Muhammadiyah, whose excellence lies in the ability to institutionalize the intellectual heritage adaptively.

Abstract

This study aims to review prophetic rationality as the foundation of Islamic educational philosophy by examining the structure of knowledge and action derived from the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The phenomenon underlying this research is the tendency of contemporary Islamic education to be predominantly normative-textual and lacking in philosophical reflection, thus failing to bridge revelation, reason, and social praxis. The research approach used is qualitative library research with a philosophical hermeneutic analysis method. Data were collected from primary literature (hadith books and their commentary) and secondary literature (scientific articles, books, and works of classical and contemporary Islamic educational thinkers). The results of the analysis show three main findings: (1) A prophetic epistemology based on revelation that integrates reason (‘aql), heart (qalb), and revelation (wahy) as the basis for the formation of knowledge; (2) A transformative axiology of prophetic education, rooted in the values ??of justice (‘adl), liberation (ta?r?r), and humanization (ins?niyyah); and (3) Integration of knowledge and practice that makes education a process of internalizing values ??and social transformation through exemplary behavior (uswah ?asanah). These findings expand the discourse on Islamic educational philosophy by offering an epistemological and practical framework derived from the hadith, as well as providing theoretical and practical contributions to the design of Islamic curriculum and pedagogy. This study recommends further exploration of the application of prophetic values ??in the context of multicultural and inclusive education, in order to strengthen the relevance of the hadith as an adaptive and transformative educational resource in the modern era.

Abstract

This community service aims to teach the people of Solo about the importance of religiosity in minimising conflict and violence. In the context of Solo's multicultural and multireligious society, conflict and violence often arise as a result of tensions between groups or individuals of different faiths. Through strengthening religiosity, we hold a series of activities such as seminars, workshops, and group discussions to increase understanding of religious values that value peace and tolerance. The active participation of various community groups, including religious leaders, community leaders, and youth, enables a rich exchange of views and a deeper understanding of how religiosity can be the foundation for building a peaceful and harmonious society. Evaluation of activities shows an increased understanding of the importance of religiosity in dealing with conflict and violence. At the end of the project, there was an increase in awareness of the importance of interfaith cooperation and rejection of conflict and violence as a solution to differences of faith. Thus, this dedication is the first step in efforts to build a more tolerant and peaceful society in Solo.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate work culture and sharia views on night work, focusing on responsibility, ethics, and its impact. This research method uses a qualitative approach by conducting a literature review and analysis of relevant primary and secondary sources. The results show that modern work culture often encourages individuals to work at night, especially in the service, health, and hospitality industries. Nevertheless, the Sharia view emphasizes the importance of balance between work and worship, as well as maintaining physical and mental health. In this context, working nights can pose moral and social challenges that need to be carefully considered. The novelty of this research lies in merging the perspective of modern work culture with the view of sharia, which is rarely explored thoroughly. The results of this analysis provide a deeper understanding of individual responsibilities in undergoing night work, as well as provide ethical guidance relevant to the Islamic context. In conclusion, this research can provide valuable insights for individuals, organizations, and communities in understanding the implications of night work from the point of view of work culture and sharia
