Abstract

Multicultural education is increasingly important in the context of globalization that affects cultural and religious diversity in society. This research aims to explore the philosophical basis of multicultural education through the interpretation of the Qur'an and the role of hermeneutic approaches in Islamic religious education. The research method uses a Systematic Literature Review based on the Scopus database from 2022 to 2025 by analyzing Scopus-indexed scientific articles related to multiculturalism, Islamic education, and hermeneutics. From the search results, it was found that 229 articles were filtered into 37 relevant articles, and finally 20 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected for further analysis. The results of the study show that the interpretation of the Qur'an with a contextual hermeneutic approach provides a strong philosophical basis for multicultural education with the values of inclusivity, justice, and respect for diversity. This research also identifies the important contribution of hermeneutics in enriching the interpretation of Qur'anic values that support a more inclusive and tolerant education. The conclusion in this study is that Islamic religious education based on Qur'anic values can create a harmonious and pluralistic society if applied with a more critical and contextual approach. The main contribution of this article is to fill the research gap on the application of Qur'an interpretation in multicultural education and to introduce a broader hermeneutic approach in the context of Islamic religious education in an increasingly diverse society.

Abstract

The study of Islamic social political critique has developed as an important part of contemporary Islamic discourse that highlights the relationship between religion, power, social structure, and global political dynamics. Although the number of scholarly publications on this theme has shown a significant increase, the existing literature is still fragmented and dominated by external perspectives, particularly from the Western social science tradition. Therefore, systematic mapping is needed to understand the direction of development, epistemological structure, and thematic tendency of the study of socio-political criticism of Islam in the international academic literature. This study aims to map and analyze the development of Islamic social political critique studies through a bibliometric approach using 119 scientific documents indexed in the Scopus database. The data was analyzed quantitatively and visually through mapping of publication distribution by year, journal source, author productivity, institutional affiliation, country of origin, as well as keyword network analysis using VOSviewer software. This approach allows the identification of knowledge production patterns, academic relationships, and temporal and thematic shifts in the focus of studies. The results show that the study of Islamic social political critique has experienced consistent growth, especially since the 2010s, and has developed into an established theme in global academic discourse. The production of knowledge is dominated by Western countries, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, while the contribution of Muslim countries is still relatively limited. From a thematic perspective, Islamic socio-political critical discourse tends to be concentrated on ideological issues such as Islamophobia, secularism, colonialism, and modernity, with Islam more often positioned as an object of criticism than as an epistemic subject. This study concludes that although the intensity of Islamic social political critique studies is quite high, there are still epistemological inequalities in the perspectives used. Therefore, this study affirms the importance of developing a more dialogical and balanced socio-political critique of Islam, in particular by strengthening an approach rooted in the Islamic intellectual tradition itself. These findings are expected to be a starting point for further research that expands and deepens the contribution of critical Islamic studies in a global context.

Abstract

Differences in language usage and translation meanings related to a word in the Qur’an are often confused. For example, as well as the word heart (qalb) in the Qur’an is mentioned 153 times in the singular, double, or plural. Sometimes qalb is interpreted as the meaning of reason knowledge as in the tafsir al-mishbah in QS. Qaf verse 37 interprets that the word qalb means someone who has perfect knowledge. But in the translation of the Qur’an Kemenag, the word qalb in the verse is still interpreted with the heart. This sometimes begs the question of what the verse means. This study used library research. This study compiles and searches for data and theories about the meaning of qalbu translation in the Qur’an on the Qur’an and the translation of the work of the Qur’an Kemenag including books/literature and written works of relevant figures as data sources. This research is qualitative descriptive. The approach used in this study is the theory of interpretation with the maudhu’iy (thematic) method because the collected data will be analyzed with the theory of interpretation with the maudhu’iy method. The results of this research on the latest official website of the Qur’an Kemenag, include an addition of a brief interpretation to express the meaning that the meaning of the heart in translation is a heart that can think and know the truth.

Abstract

Qawaid Tafsir by Khalid bin Uthman as Sabt is a book that formulates the sciences of exegesis into the form of rules, including reasonable calm in the Qur'an, he formulated three rules about reasonableness. First, most verses close with al-asma' al-husna to show that the message of the verse relates to these great names. Second, two adjacent verses or sentences, clearly or unclearly related, must have a unifying facet. Third, the general steps to find plausibility between verses in the Qur'an are to look for the surah, make provisional conclusions, analyze the provisional conclusions, and draw up the conclusion. This research is qualitative. Primary data sources are QS Al Hasyar, and secondary sources are the books "Reasonable Discourse of the Qur'an in Tafsir Al-Misbah" by Hasani Ahmad Said and books on 'Tulum al-Qur'an related to munasabah. The data collection method is carried out by (1) collecting verses that contain plausibility, (2) categorizing reasonable verses, and (2) analyzing through Qaedah Tafsir Khalid bin Usman As Sabat. Based on the analysis conducted, the study concluded that the author did that rule number 196 in the book of award tafsir is applied to verses 1, 6, 10, 18, 22, and 24. Abstract

Humans are formed from the process of evolution according to Charles Darwin. The process of the creation of humans from the point of view of the theory of evolution put forward by a famous scientist named Charles Robert Darwin, who stated that humans were the evolution of ape species or a kind of short-tailed monkey. there is a book entitled ‘On The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favored Racesin The Strungle for Life’ which states that humans came from a revolutionary ape species from a very long time ago. Darwin’s theoretical paradigm in biological knowledge today is the basic reference in every theory carrying the origin of the development of life (organisms). Even though there are many verses of the Qur’an that mention the elements that make up Humans in several verses. This study aims to criticize the theory. The research method used in this research is a systematic literature review. The results of this study The creation of soil according to Tanthawi, went through the following stages, turab (Ali-Imran: 59), clay mixed with water (al-An’am: 2), then became thin lazib (As-Shaffat: 11), then processed into black mud (hammain) (Al-Hijr: 26), then became dry clay like pottery (ar-Rahman: 14), after that it turned into pottery (fakhkhar) ar-Rahman: 14, then became Adam as the first human , in the interpretation of the Ministry of Religion, through stages starting from soil, starch essence comes from soil (al-Mu’minun: 12), dry clay from shaped mud (al-Hijr: 26 ), and dry soil such as pottery. (Ar-Rahman:14).

Abstract

This research is entitled "Qualitative Analysis of the Concept of Tabdzir in the Qur'an: A Study of Al-Azhar Tafsir and Its Contribution to Good Asset Management". The main focus of this study is to analyze how tabdzir, or waste, is interpreted in the Qur'an according to Hamka's perspective in Tafsir Al-Azhar. The research problem raised is the understanding and application of the teachings of tabdzir in the social and economic context of modern society. The research method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The data was collected through the analysis of the Qur'anic text, especially the verses related to the tabdzir, as well as the interpretation given by Hamka in Tafsir Al-Azhar. This research also includes a review of relevant literature, both from books and scientific articles, to explore the context and implications of tabdzir teachings. The results of the study show that Hamka emphasized that tabdzir is a reprehensible behavior that must be avoided by Muslims. In his interpretation, Hamka associates tabdzir with social and moral responsibility, and reminds the importance of wise wealth management. He also highlighted the negative impact of waste, both on individuals and society, and called on the faithful to live simply and invest in social welfare. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to the Islamic understanding of asset management and ethical financial behavior. By analyzing tabdzir in the context of Tafsir Al-Azhar, this research provides useful insights for society in facing the challenges of modern lifestyles, as well as strengthening awareness of the importance of managing wealth as a mandate from Allah.
