Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of the word "sea" in the Qur'an using a semantic approach according to Toshihiko Izutsu. Izutsu's profound semantic theory is applied to analyze this concept in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the meaning contained in "the sea." This research employs a qualitative approach involving the analysis of the content of the Qur'an. Although the Arabic word "البحر" (al-bahr) literally means "sea," its meaning is expanded to encompass spiritual, philosophical, and symbolic aspects. In several surahs, the word "البحر" is mentioned sixty times. This study demonstrates that the sea not only plays an important role in human life but also serves as a symbol of goodness, mercy, and divine power in creating and managing the universe. The sea also represents values such as tawakkul (trust in God), gratitude, and perseverance in the face of life's trials and tribulations. The study finds that the concept of "the sea" in the Qur'an is both complex and encompasses many metaphysical and physical meanings. Toshihiko Izutsu's exegesis reveals the truth of the Qur'an and its impact on knowledge, particularly in the field of oceanography; his semantic approach aids in understanding the depth of the word's meaning and provides deeper insights to readers regarding this phenomenon.

Abstract

This community service aims to teach the people of Solo about the importance of religiosity in minimising conflict and violence. In the context of Solo's multicultural and multireligious society, conflict and violence often arise as a result of tensions between groups or individuals of different faiths. Through strengthening religiosity, we hold a series of activities such as seminars, workshops, and group discussions to increase understanding of religious values that value peace and tolerance. The active participation of various community groups, including religious leaders, community leaders, and youth, enables a rich exchange of views and a deeper understanding of how religiosity can be the foundation for building a peaceful and harmonious society. Evaluation of activities shows an increased understanding of the importance of religiosity in dealing with conflict and violence. At the end of the project, there was an increase in awareness of the importance of interfaith cooperation and rejection of conflict and violence as a solution to differences of faith. Thus, this dedication is the first step in efforts to build a more tolerant and peaceful society in Solo.

Abstract

This study explores the application of Qur'anic human rights principles in Egypt and Indonesia, focusing on how Islamic teachings are integrated into modern legal systems amidst different cultural, political, and historical contexts. The study investigates the balance between universal human rights standards and Islamic jurisprudence, identifying variations in the interpretation and application of these principles in both countries. The PRISMA framework was used as the basis for the method, ensuring a systematic and transparent approach to reviewing legal texts, academic literature, and case studies. The technique began by identifying sources relevant to applying human rights law in the context of Islamic teachings in Egypt and Indonesia. A focused search was conducted using Web of Science and Scopus databases, targeting articles published between 2014 and 2024. Inclusion criteria ensured that the study analyzed recent and high-quality research on the intersection of Qur'anic principles and international human rights standards. The study shows that Egypt faces challenges in implementing Qur'anic teachings due to conservative interpretations that limit gender equality, freedom of expression, and freedom of religion. In contrast, Indonesia is more flexible by balancing Islamic principles with modern democratic values. This allows for a broader interpretation of Qur'anic principles, especially gender equality and religious freedom. The role of ijtihad in Indonesia is crucial in adapting Islamic law to contemporary human rights standards. This study highlights the complexity of aligning Islamic teachings with global human rights norms. It emphasizes the importance of revisiting traditional interpretations of the Qur'an to better align them with contemporary values of justice, equality, and human dignity, as well as ensuring respect for the human rights of all citizens.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Qualitative Analysis of the Concept of Tabdzir in the Qur'an: A Study of Al-Azhar Tafsir and Its Contribution to Good Asset Management". The main focus of this study is to analyze how tabdzir, or waste, is interpreted in the Qur'an according to Hamka's perspective in Tafsir Al-Azhar. The research problem raised is the understanding and application of the teachings of tabdzir in the social and economic context of modern society. The research method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The data was collected through the analysis of the Qur'anic text, especially the verses related to the tabdzir, as well as the interpretation given by Hamka in Tafsir Al-Azhar. This research also includes a review of relevant literature, both from books and scientific articles, to explore the context and implications of tabdzir teachings. The results of the study show that Hamka emphasized that tabdzir is a reprehensible behavior that must be avoided by Muslims. In his interpretation, Hamka associates tabdzir with social and moral responsibility, and reminds the importance of wise wealth management. He also highlighted the negative impact of waste, both on individuals and society, and called on the faithful to live simply and invest in social welfare. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to the Islamic understanding of asset management and ethical financial behavior. By analyzing tabdzir in the context of Tafsir Al-Azhar, this research provides useful insights for society in facing the challenges of modern lifestyles, as well as strengthening awareness of the importance of managing wealth as a mandate from Allah.

Abstract

Islam outlines several important aspects in educating children, especially adolescents, to the path of Allah SWT. First, giving love and sufficient living needs. Teenagers in the initial ranks need enough affection than your mother so they don't feel emptiness in the soul. This responsibility must be carried out by the mother and father as well as possible. The Word of God which means QS. Ali-Imran: 14. The instincts of love that manifest in human beings should be nurtured as best as possible according to the will of Islamic law. In giving love to children, it is not enough for the mother and father just to provide material needs while their mental and emotional needs are not emphasized. Father and mother should spend time with their children to make love and get along with them. Father and mother also need to be a good friend to teenagers by providing opportunities to shed light on what problems they face. A divide that is not divided must be given when the teenager is pouring something or other resources to devote the problem that is being faced. A close relationship is very important between the mother father and teenage child. This method makes them not afraid to ask or tell stories if something happens to it. With this, the relationship between the child and his father's mother will be strengthened alongside their obedience and easy acceptance of their father's advice. A child who gets enough love and care from his father's mother will not disappoint his father's hopes. They will not look for happiness outside the home again, for example hanging out with naughty friends, smoking drugs, running away from home and so on because the happiness that is sought has been found at home. Second, provide religious education. Religious education is a duty of the mother and father. Without adequate religious education it is impossible to bear a child of morality and piety to God. Teaching and education should be prioritized related to religion because it is the best way to prevent people from being bad and bring them to glory

Abstract

The prank phenomenon has become a rampant trend among the millennial generation, especially in the realm of social media. Pranks are often thought of as a form of entertainment and humor, but in some cases, the practice can have a negative impact, including harming the other party both physically and psychologically. In Islam, there are limits to joking that emphasize honesty, ethics, and not harming others. This research aims to criticize various academic studies that discuss the phenomenon of prank in the perspective of the Qur'an. Pranks as a social phenomenon that develops in the digital era are often studied from various perspectives, including Qur'anic interpretation, hadith, psychology, and Islamic law. Using the library research method, this study evaluates the weaknesses and advantages of previous studies related to prank, especially in terms of methods, sources of interpretation used, and the relevance of the study in the modern social context. The results of the analysis show that most of the previous research is still limited to certain interpretations, lacks consideration of psychological and sociological aspects, and is minimal in discussing legal regulations related to pranks on social media. This study is expected to provide new insights in examining the phenomenon of pranks more comprehensively, taking into account a broader perspective in Islamic studies and social sciences.
