Abstract

Objective: This study aims to criticize the interpretation of the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in the scientific work of students of Qur'an and Tafsir in Indonesia, focusing on the suitability of the interpretation method used, the relevance of the verses of the Qur'an as a solution, and the contribution of interpretation to the challenges of modern digital life. Theoretical framework: This study departs from the understanding that the FoMO phenomenon is not only a psychological problem, but can also be studied through a spiritual-religious approach in the Qur'an, so it is necessary to have an interpretive framework that can respond to contemporary issues. Literature review: This study highlights the limitations of the literature linking psychological phenomena such as FoMO with the study of interpretation, as well as the importance of a cross-disciplinary approach in presenting solutions based on Qur'anic values to modern digital issues. Method: This study uses a content analysis method on various scientific works that have been published by students, especially those who try to interpret FoMO through the Qur'an interpretation approach. Results: show that despite attempts to link FoMO to the teachings of the Qur'an, most scientific works have not fully succeeded in selecting relevant verses and understanding the social context of the phenomenon in depth. Implications: from these findings is the importance of updating the approach in the study of interpretation, by integrating psychological and sociological perspectives to produce a more contextual and applicative interpretation. Novelty: lies in his attempt to criticize and recommend a multidisciplinary approach to the interpretation of the Qur'an to modern psychological phenomena, thus opening up space for the development of interpretive studies that are more relevant to the realities of contemporary life.

Abstract

Objective: this study is to explore the concept of 'ilm in the Qur'an and its relevance to the development of artificial intelligence (AI). Theoretical framework: this is used based on thematic interpretation (maudhū'ī) of the verses of the Qur'an containing the word 'ilm and its derivatives, as well as Islamic philosophical and ethical approaches in the development of science and technology. Literature review: includes literature on the relationship between Islam and technology, interpretation of Qur'anic verses regarding science, and Islamic ethical principles in the development of science. Methods: What is used is library research with a thematic interpretation approach, through the analysis of relevant verses based on the context of asbāb al-nuzūl and the interpretation of classical and contemporary mufasir. Results: research shows that the Qur'an emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge for the benefit of humans, which is in line with the basic principles of AI development. However, this study also emphasizes the importance of integrating Islamic ethical values in AI applications so that the technology truly benefits humanity. Implications: These findings suggest that Islamic principles, particularly those contained in the Qur'an, can be a moral framework in the development of AI, with an emphasis on responsibility, justice, and social well-being in technological advancement. Novelty: this research lies in an integrative approach between the interpretation of the Qur'an and the contemporary issue of artificial intelligence, which offers a new perspective on the contribution of Islamic ethics in the development of modern technology.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the concept of religious tolerance in Buya Hamka's Tafsir Al-Azhar and compare it with the interpretations of other classical and contemporary mufasir such as Ibn Kathir, Al-Maraghi, Wahbah al-Zuhaili, and M. Quraish Shihab, to reaffirm the Qur'an's instructions on peaceful interreligious relations in a pluralistic society, especially in Indonesia. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework used involves a thematic and contextual interpretation approach to the Qur'an, paying attention to aspects of religious freedom, social coexistence, and multiculturalism values. Literature review: A literature review involves an analysis of classical and contemporary works of interpretation, as well as literature that discusses thematic interpretations and issues of religious diversity. Methods: The method applied in this study is a qualitative-descriptive method with a literature study approach and content analysis of six verses of the Qur'an related to religious tolerance (QS. Al-Baqarah: 256, Al-Kafirun: 1–6, Yunus: 40–41, Yunus: 99–100, Mumtahanah: 8–9, and Al-Maidah: 5). Results: The results of the study show that Hamka prioritizes a contextual and responsive interpretation approach to social reality, different from the more textual and theological interpretations of some other scholars. Hamka and Quraish Shihab's interpretations stand out for being inclusive and dialogical, demonstrating Islam's compatibility with the values of democracy and multiculturalism. Implications: Implications of these findings include the importance of a social interpretation approach in building inclusive education, developing tolerant policies, and encouraging interfaith dialogue. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its contribution to the development of thematic and contextual interpretive methods to respond to contemporary challenges, as well as in showing that socially oriented interpretive approaches can be the foundation for harmony in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This research is qualitative research that aims to develop an Islamic quality-of-life model for Islamic multicultural education. Research is conducted by referring to various sources of writing (literary research), and then formulating with deductive and inductive reasoning (thinking). The four criteria for a successful life (luck, win), namely faith, good deeds, correctness, and patience. These four criteria constitute a unified whole, and should not be broken down or reduced. The word 'sholih' means 'whole' (not broken apart) or 'complete', which is also usually translated as 'good'. Goodness due to wholeness and completeness. Wholeness and completeness in the concept of "Amal Sholih" include amal imaniah (faithful action), amal ilmiah (scientific action), amal karimah (noble action), amal rahmah (beloved action), amal barakah (better action), amal salamah (safe action), and amal kamilah (complete action). Faithful action is the action that must be based on faith, namely the six pillars of faith. Scientific action is an action that contains knowledge. Amal karimah is human deeds that show good deeds. Beloved action is the action that reflects rahmah (compassion, love), which arises from a clean conscience. Better action is a human action that provides benefits and added value (added goodness) to others and oneself. Safe action is the act of human beings who are safe and save themselves and others in this world and the hereafter. Complete action is the human action that fulfills 100% of the target.

Abstract

Ijarah Muntahiya Bittamlik is a form of Islamic finance combining the contracts of I zev and sale or gift. Under this contract, the tenant (customer) leases the property from the lessor (bank) for a specified period of time with the promise that ownership of the property will be transferred at the end of the I zev period either through sale or gift. This contract is an alternative to traditional loans that rely on usurious interest, making it compliant with Islamic law, which prohibits usury. A key benefit of the Ijarah Muntahiya Bittamlik contract is that it allows the customer to benefit from assets such as movables, cars or real estate without the responsibility of direct ownership and the associated costs such as maintenance of the large property during the lease period, as the ownership of the property remains with the lessor until the end of the lease term. The transfer of ownership of the property occurs at the conclusion of the contract in accordance with the terms of the agreement, which may be facilitated by means of a gift, thereby obviating the need for the purchaser to incur the expense of ownership. Alternatively, the property may be sold at a nominal price. This transfer of ownership is an integral component of the mechanism that underpins the investment objectives of Islamic banks, as it ensures that both parties adhere to Shari'ah regulations and Shari'ah judgements in financial transactions. The hibah contract is a favoured method for transferring ownership in such contracts, as the gift from the bank to the customer is legitimate and available, and does not require any additional consideration at the end of the term. Consequently, the utilisation of hibah as a mode of transferring property ownership is not only accepted but also favoured by customers seeking to circumvent the prohibition of riba. It is evident that the gift contract constitutes a viable solution to the issue of transferring ownership in Ijarah Muntahiya Bittamlik, as it is consistent with the principles of Islamic Sharia. This is achieved by enabling customers to utilise the leased property in the event of non-payment of the full amount, without the necessity of direct borrowing with prohibited Riba interest.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the tarjīḥ method used by Imām Nawāwi to reconcile the different opinions among Syāfi’ī Scholars, as presented in the book of Minḥāj al-Ṭālibīn wa ʿUmdat al-Muftīn. This research is a qualitative, descriptive literature study with a normative juridical approach. This study found that the book Minḥāj al-Ṭālibīn wa ʿUmdat al-Muftīn consists of several key elements in the form of (1) Ikhtiṣar (summary) in which Imām Nawāwi simplifies the explanation for each topic to facilitate understanding and memorization. (2) Classification of Terms: Here, he puts forward specific terms, such as al-Azhār, Qawl al-Jadīd, and Qawl Qādim, to differentiate between Imām Syāfi'ī's own opinion and the opinion of his followers. In this way, it can be identified which opinions come from the pure thought of Imam Syāfi'ī and which come from the thoughts of his ulama followers. (3) Imām Nawāwi In carrying out Tarjīḥ, he uses several methods at once, namely the Bayānī method (textual analysis), the Taʽlīlī method (cause-based analysis), and the Istislāhī method (analysis based on public interest). This study concludes that the book Minḥāj al-Ṭālibīn wa ʿUmdat al-Muftīn not only functions as a guide to understanding Syāfi'ī fiqh but can also be a model for developing Tarjīḥ methods that are systematic and in line with the dynamics of the development of Islamic legal science.

Abstract

Objective:  This study aims to explore the implementation of tahfidz and tahsin programs at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta, as well as identify strategies to improve the quality of memorization and recitation of the Qur'an through the optimization of dormitory facilities and the implementation of Saturday Islamic Boarding School activities (Pesat). Theoretical framework: This research is based on Qur'anic learning theory that emphasizes the integration of tahsin and tahfidz as part of Islamic character education, as well as kinesthetic and repetitive approaches such as talaqqi, tikrār, and muroja'ah to support successful memorization. Literature review:  The literature review covers the urgency of tahfidz and tahsin in Islamic education, the effectiveness of methods such as talaqqi and tasmi', the role of curriculum and facilities, and the importance of tahsin as a basis for correct memorization. The literature also discusses common reading errors and their corrective strategies. Methods:   The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a field study method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, which are analyzed interactively through reduction, presentation, and conclusions drawn. The validity of the data was tested by triangulation and member check. Result:  The results of the study show that the tahfidz and tahsin programs at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta have great potential but have not been fully optimized. Two flagship programs were developed, namely the boarding school dormitory program and Pesat (Saturday Islamic Boarding School), which aims to improve the quality and quantity of memorization. It was also found that some students did not have the correct reading skills, so they needed to learn first before entering the tahfidz stage. Implications:  This study shows the need for collaboration between schools, teachers, and policymakers in designing the tahfidz-tahsin curriculum and optimizing dormitory facilities to support intensive Qur'an learning. Novelty:  This study presents a school-based Qur'an coaching model with the integration of tahsin as a prerequisite for tahfidz, utilizing the boarding system and the Pesat program as effective learning innovations.
