Abstract

Philosophy and science are human efforts to understand the concepts and methods of a scientific discipline. Changing times and developments have ushered in a philosophy of configuration by showing how the "tree of knowledge" thrives and branches out from the respective disciplines. This study aims to examine philosophy and science and their relevance in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. This research method uses the hermeneutic method in explaining the reality that occurs with elements of interpretation and description. The results of the research can be described that the study of the relationship between philosophy and science has developed so rapidly. Philosophy and science are indispensable in the development of science and technology which is marked by sharpening of scientific specialization, because by studying philosophy scientists are expected to be aware of its limitations so as not to get caught up in intellectual arrogance. It is impossible to fight against the discourse on the development of science and technology, but rather to reduce the negative impact of technology itself. In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0, community groups are heterogeneous, so that very complex problems arise related to technological developments and can change the mindset of human life to patterns of life that are more sophisticated with the power of technology. like robots and the internet. Thus, science which is used as an axiological milestone in directing and controlling the development of science and technology in a positive way for the benefit of humanity and its environment is philosophy and science.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the flow of post-positivism philosophy in science learning in Indonesia as one of the challenges in achieving the competence of students' spiritual attitudes. The positivism paradigm holds that true knowledge must come or be based on experience, and that human reason is a requirement to consider whether experience is right or wrong according to the rules of logic and mathematical calculations, so that aspects of metaphysics that are not based on real experience are considered unclear and meaningless. The emergence of post-positivism is expected to provide a more meaningful understanding of scientific truth by shifting the concept of noumenon to phenomenon. The results show that: 1) The post-positivism paradigm is a school that wants to improve the weaknesses of positivism, which only relies on the ability to directly observe the object being observed, 2) In the learning process, core competencies for the attitude domain are not taught, but are integrated and developed. when learning aspects of knowledge and skills are carried out, 3) The practice of education in Indonesia, especially science learning, places spiritual attitude competence as a competence that is set aside which has an impact on the violation of spiritual values by students, 4) The current condition of education in Indonesia cannot be separated from the dominant influence of post-positivism which suppresses the portion for aspects that are metaphysical, including spiritual aspects.

Abstract

This study examines respondent and university type responses to science process skills instruments integrated with automated feedback on science practicum performance assessments at 2 state college and 2 private college in West Nusa Tenggara Province. A Kruskal-Wallis test was performed utilizing case study and cluster random sampling. Data was collected using online survey, interviews, and direct observations. Three hundred seventy-six university students and teachers from four universities were studied. Since there was no standard instrument, science process skills performance was not assessed. The assessment results show no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between state and private college in measuring science process skills integrated with real-time feedback on science practicum. This suggests that neither university has conducted such an assessment. No significant difference in responses between university students and lecturers regarding the measurement of science process skills on performance assessments integrated with real-time feedback in science practicum (p > 0.05), implying that university students and lecturers have the same experience. This study advises developing science process skills measurement on performance assessment for real-time science practicum feedback.
