Abstract

The competence of educators in the use of technology in learning today is still not enough to answer the challenges of 21st-century learning. For this reason, it is necessary to assist increased science educators with TPACK-based learning tools. The results of a survey of educators found that educators still hadn't applied technology in their learning so in preparing learning tools they were still not skilled.  This activity aims to provide knowledge and skills to educators regarding the preparation of TPACK-based learning tools, describe the understanding of science educators on the role and use of technology, describe the ability of educators to design TPACK-based learning tools, and determine the response of educators to the activities carried out. The socialization and mentoring were using discussion and group work methods. The Activity was attended by 18 science teachers in Sintang Regency. The results of the mentoring show that this assistance is very helpful for educators in understanding TPACK and the knowledge of teachers about TPACK and the preparation of TPACK-based learning tools is increasing.

Abstract

Liver, colon, and cervical cancer are the top three types of cancer which rank in the top five worldwide in terms of incidence and mortality. Simpur air (Dillenia suffruticosa)plant has traditionally been used for the treatment of various diseases, one of which is cancer. This study aims to prove cytotoxic effect and selectivity of simpur air wood bark fractions against liver HepG2, colon WiDr, and cervical HeLa cancer cells. Simpur air wood bark is macerated using 96% methanol. The methanolic crude extract was fractionated with the liquid-liquid partition method using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Cytotoxicity test using MTT assay method. The result showed that the methanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and methanol fraction in liver HepG2 cancer cells had IC50 values 179,32±13,55; 85,14±8,58; 140,08±22,63; >500 µg/mL and in colon WiDr cancer cells had IC50 values 133,02±27,64; 41,54±37,58; 124,76±17,22; >500 µg/mL. Meanwhile, all fractions had IC50 values >500 µg/mL in HeLa cervical cancer cells. These data indicate that the n-hexane fraction in WiDr cells is potentially cytotoxic and selective with a selectivity index value greater than 3. Thus, simpur air wood bark has the potential to be developed as an anticancer drug candidate.

Abstract

This research aims to provide information about Vocational High Schools (VHS) based on the Regional Public Service Agency (RPSA). This descriptive qualitative research uses a literature study approach, which includes several activities related to library data collection methods, reading, recording, and processing research materials. Meanwhile, content analysis is the analytical approach used. The findings of this study reveal various aspects of the management of VHS based on the regional public service agency: definition, benefits, objectives, requirements towards VHS-RPSA, and organizational structure. The management of VHS-RPSA is not for financial gain but to satisfy customers (students and communities) by providing autonomy in handling finances towards school independence, which has several benefits, such as autonomy in financial planning patterns, improved human resources, improved learning, improved facilities and infrastructure, strengthened character education, and improved cooperation. This research enhances the understanding of VHS management within the RPSA framework, contributes to education governance and public service administration to improve the quality of VHS education, and paves the way for future research.

Abstract

This study discusses the ineffective chemistry learning process resulting in poor grades at State Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Rasau Jaya, students tend to receive information from the teacher without constructing their own knowledge, so students have difficulty in constructing the material obtained from the teacher. The purpose of this study is to describe the learning outcomes of students in 11th Grade Science Class odd semester in chemistry subjects at SMAN 1 Rasau Jaya. The form of research used in this research is descriptive research, and the type of research is a case study. Case study is one of qualitative research, in which researchers conduct in-depth exploration of programs, events, processes, activities, for one or more people. The subjects of this study were students of 11th Grade Science Class at SMAN 1 Rasau Jaya in the 2019/2020 school year who took the odd semester general test, totaling 93 students. The research process includes three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the final stage. The data collection tool used is the odd semester general test score. Results and Discussion regarding Indicator 1: List the general formula of alkane, alkene and alkyne compounds, Indicator 2: Mention the law of conservation of energy, Indicator 3: Determine the number of moles from the results of the experiment, Indicator 4: Determine the value of the equilibrium constant Kc based on the reaction. The results of the general test conducted on 11th Grade students of SMAN 1 Rasau Jaya can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students in the class are not adequate.

Abstract

Chemical bonding is one of the subjects that are considered difficult by students, so it is necessary to have a model or learning method that can improve student learning outcomes on the matter of chemical bonds, so we need a method that can improve student learning outcomes, namely Problem Solving. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in learning outcomes and the effect of using the Problem Solving method on chemical bonding material for class X MIPA SMA Negeri 7 Singkawang Timur. The method used in this research is Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique carried out by the researcher was saturated sampling totaling 70 people consisting of class X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2. Data collection tools used learning outcomes tests, observation sheets and interview guidelines. The instrument used is a question of pretest and posttest with a content validity level that has been declared valid and the reliability result is 0.846. Data analysis technique with inferential statistics. The results of the hypothesis using the independent sample t-test test of sig (2-tailed) 0.016 <0.05. In the test results the effect size is , in the high category. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained, it is concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class as well as the effect of using problem solving methods in improving student learning outcomes on chemical bonding material.
