Abstract

The experiment was aimed at identifying QTL (quantitative trait loci) controlling ten traits of yield, yield component and plant morphology of rice based on BC1F1 of IR75862-206-2-8-3-B-B-B//IR64 mapping population consisted of 115 plants.  It was arranged in Completely Randomized Design with three replicates.  Ninety three SSR markers spread across the twelve rice chromosomes were used to map the QTL.  These markers were mostly segregated according to Mendel Law except for fourteen markers.  There were eleven QTL detected in eight traits, i.e., heading date, flag leaf length, plant height, panicle length, panicle weight, seed set, weight of 100 grains, and grain weight per plant, meaning that one or two QTL were detected in each trait.  These QTL were located at chromosome 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, and 12.  Some QTL were located at the same chromosome even at the same location indicating the close association of the traits.  It also indicated that there were common QTL which were found across genetic background and specific QTL which were found at specific genetic background.  Further study was prospective for the molecular marker application in rice improvement.   Key words: QTL, agronomic traits, SSR, rice

Abstract

Indonesia's air defense faces increasing complexity from military and non-military threats, such as smuggling, transnational terrorism, and airspace violations, driven by its strategic geographic location. This research aims to analyze the operational readiness of the C-130 Hercules aircraft and its strategic role in Indonesia's air defense. Drawing on a theoretical framework encompassing Defense Theory, Air Power Theory, and Triple Helix Theory, this qualitative study employs literature reviews and in-depth interviews with sources from the National Air Defense Operations Command and Depohar 10. The results indicate that the C-130 Hercules plays a crucial role in Indonesia's air defense, although its operational readiness remains suboptimal due to technical, logistical, and managerial challenges. Factors such as aging aircraft, structural fatigue, and delays in importing spare parts contribute to these readiness issues. However, the Triple Helix ecosystem— involving the government (policy and procurement), industry (PT Dirgantara Indonesia for maintenance and spare parts), and academia (research on modern maintenance and human resource development)—plays a key role in strengthening its strategic capacity. The Indonesian Air Force's tiered maintenance system, revitalization, and modernization programs reflect ongoing efforts to sustain the Hercules as a vital strategic asset for Indonesia's defense mobility.

Abstract

The era of multipolarity, characterized by competition among the United States, China, Russia, and the European Union, has intensified global security dynamics. This competition spans military, technological, and energy domains, making the stability of Indonesia’s airspace increasingly critical. In response, Indonesia has modernized its air power as a deterrence strategy to address both conventional and non-conventional threats. This study analyzes how Indonesia’s defense policies in the era of multipolarity shape the modernization of the Indonesian Air Force’s (TNI AU) weapon systems from 2015 to 2025. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research includes document analysis, policy review, and air defense strategic assessment. The findings show that the modernization efforts are a strategic response to multipolar dynamics, particularly the increasing use of air power in the region, tensions in the South China Sea, and emerging threats like cyber intrusions, foreign UAVs, and hybrid warfare. The study reveals that modernization is driven by operational needs, global political dynamics, and Indonesia’s defense industry capacity. Key measures include the procurement of advanced fighter aircraft, the enhancement of radar networks, the integration of command and control systems, and the development of cyber capabilities. In conclusion, the modernization of TNI AU’s weapon systems strengthens deterrence, maintains regional stability, and enhances the ability to respond to multidimensional threats in the era of multipolarity.

Abstract

Background: Clinical competency assessment is a core component of nursing governance and professional development. In many Indonesian hospitals, competency evaluations remain predominantly paper-based, resulting in administrative inefficiencies and limited data traceability. The implementation of the SICAKEP (Sistem Informasi dan Pencatatan Keperawatan) digital application at RSUD Welas Asih, West Java, represents an important step toward modernizing assessment processes; however, assessors’ experiences during this transition have not been fully explored. Objective: This study aimed to explore the lived experiences of clinical nurse assessors in conducting manual and digital (SICAKEP-based) competency assessments in a provincial teaching hospital in West Java, Indonesia. Methods: A qualitative descriptive phenomenological design grounded in a constructivist paradigm was employed. Four certified clinical nurse assessors with experience in both manual and digital assessments were recruited using purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, brief observations, and document reviews between March and May 2025. Data analysis followed Colaizzi’s seven-step method, supported by reflexive journaling and member checking to enhance credibility. Results: Five themes emerged: adaptation to new assessment roles, multidimensional implementation barriers, constraints related to time and readiness, competency assessment as a driver of professionalism and quality, and transformation from manual to digital systems. Digital assessment improved efficiency and transparency but required stronger digital literacy and infrastructure support. Conclusion: Digital competency assessment represents a meaningful advancement in nursing governance, though sustained institutional support is essential to optimize its implementation

Abstract

This research examines the necessity and implementation of the Integrated Smart Maintenance System (ISMS) as a strategic solution to enhance the aircraft readiness of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) amidst the growing complexity of regional and global security challenges. The study is grounded in the fact that the current aircraft maintenance system within TNI remains reactive, fragmented, and lacks predictive capabilities supported by artificial intelligence. These limitations result in high aircraft downtime, delayed logistics support, and inefficiencies that directly affect Indonesia’s air defense credibility. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, combining in-depth interviews with TNI logistics officials, aircraft technicians, and defense industry stakeholders (PT Dirgantara Indonesia and GMF AeroAsia), along with comprehensive document analysis and literature review. The theoretical framework encompasses Regional Security Theory (Buzan & Wæver), Air Defense Theory, Maintenance Theory (Tjiptono & Diana), Information System Theory (McLeod), and strategic planning and forecasting concepts. The findings reveal fundamental weaknesses in TNI’s maintenance system, including poor data integration, the absence of predictive algorithms, limited spare parts availability, and weak coordination across services and industry. Nevertheless, SWOT analysis indicates strong opportunities for ISMS development, supported by defense modernization initiatives, national industrial readiness, and the advancement of digital technologies such as AI, IoT, and data analytics. ISMS is projected to increase aircraft readiness to 70–80%, reduce downtime, strengthen deterrence capability, and establish a digital maintenance culture within TNI.
