Abstract

Cross cutting is one of the editing techniques in the film world that plays a role in supporting non-linear storytelling patterns. This technique allows simultaneous and dynamic movement between space and time, providing a complex and captivating narrative experience for the audience. This article aims to analyze the use of cross cutting editing in supporting non-linear storytelling patterns in Christopher Nolan's film Inception (2010). Through a descriptive qualitative research method, this study explores how the arrangement of rhythm, continuity, and manipulation of time flow through cross cutting can create layers of stories that are logically and emotionally connected. The results of the study show that cross cutting not only functions as a transition tool between scenes, but also becomes a narrative element that strengthens the theme and the audience's understanding of the complex storyline.

Abstract

Geopolymer concrete is an alternative to obtaining environmentally friendly mortar by synthesizing materials that contain a lot of aluminum silicate. This study aims to determine the effect of bentonite and palm shell ash composition on geopolymers' physical and mechanical characteristics. All materials are mashed, mixed, and molded with a 5x5x5 cm3 cube. Ten specimens were prepared with bentonite - palm shell ash compositions are 40/45, 45/40, 50/35, 55/30, and 60/25 wt%. Meanwhile, the composition of NaOH, Na2SiO3, superplasticizer and water remained at 1.3, 7.7, 2, and 5 wt%, respectively. Then the samples were dried at room temperature for 24 hrs and heated at 60 °C or 80 °C for 12 hrs. The geopolymer concrete with the best characteristics was obtained with a composition of 40 wt% bentonites and 45 wt% palm shell ash by heating at 80 °C. This specimen has a compressive strength of 11.94 MPa with a density of 2.42 g/cm3, porosity of 8.43%, and absorption of 3.48%. The results have a chemical composition of 55.59% SiO₂, 9.45% Al2O3, and 8.22 Fe2O3 with a dominant quartz phase. Scanning electron microscope photo shows good bonding between particles, and there are no pores formed.

Abstract

This study investigates the roles of Higher Education, Micro Waqf Banks, and Business Skills in developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via structured questionnaires from MSME entrepreneurs in the pesantren community, analyzed through multiple regression. Results show that Higher Education significantly enhances managerial capabilities, while Micro Waqf Banks provide essential financial support. Business Skills are also crucial for effective management. The research highlights the interconnectedness of education, financial resources, and skill development in fostering entrepreneurship in pesantren. Limitations include a focus on a single geographic area, suggesting future studies should explore diverse regions and long-term impacts on MSME sustainability.

Abstract

The development of the attraction of tourist destinations is synonymous with management. The aim is that destination visited by tourists one of which is the development of attraction. In order to have real implications, the development of tourist attraction must be community-based, this makes sense because by the increase in attractiveness and by the increasing tourist visits it impacts on the economic, social and cultural community. This paper is based on the results of a survey conducted at Gesing Gunung Kidul Beach through exploration and observation methods on Gesing Beach tourist attraction and community involvement in it. Gesing Beach has natural attractions, cultural attractions and special interest tours that require management in order to increase tourist visit, but management is not yet fully based on the potential of the community due to the low level of education and public knowledge about tourism. Community involvement is limited to physical activities such as mutual assistance to repair roads, economic activities such as traditional food stalls. The cultural attractions that exist are only as annual routine activities for the remains of their ancestors. To further empower the community, it is necessary to synergize the three parties, namely the government, the private sector and the community itself, through the establishment of a network of cooperation, counseling, assistance, additional working capital. Addition to managerial insight in the tourism sector and the provision of working capital to fishermen, stall owners, organizations/community tourism groups.
