Abstract

Background: Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia. Low knowledge and perception of mothers about nutrition, health, and the First 1000 Days of Life are determining factors. Objectives: To observe the impact of home visits on the knowledge and perception of maternal children about the Zero New Stunting (ZNS) program. Methods: This study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, conducted from June to August 2025 in Sumberadi Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The subjects were 35 stunted toddler pairs with mothers who met the inclusion criteria. Interventions are integrative nutrition education packages through home visits by trained Posyandu cadres, nutrition education (growth monitoring, developmental stimulation, and IYCF), and counseling. A structured questionnaire containing knowledge and perception questions of 25 questions each was used. The analysis was carried out using a t-test to see the differences before and after the intervention. Meanwhile, qualitative data were analyzed manually according to the theme of the interview. Results: The mean knowledge score increased from 61.2±9.8 (pre-test) to 86.4±7.1 (post-test 3), with a mean difference of 25.2 points (p-value<0.001). The perception score increased from 58.4±10.2 to 82.4±7.4, with an average difference of 24.0 points (p-value<0.001). Meanwhile, the results of qualitative findings showed high acceptance of the program, including increased self-efficacy, emotional support, and practical guidance during home visits. Conclusions: Home visits by cadres with integrated nutrition education effectively improve mothers’ knowledge and perceptions on stunting prevention, supporting the ZNS program.

Abstract

Banyuwangi is a regency with a coastline length of about 175.8 km with 10 islands. The east coast of Banyuwangi (Bali Strait) is one of the largest fish producers in East Java. Banyuwangi is the second largest producer of fishery commodities in Indonesia. One of the villages in Banyuwangi Regency, Mojopanggung Village, has the potential for a thriving squid cracker business. The management of crackers in this village has not changed significantly from year to year, 90% of the management of the ponds is done traditionally, starting from the process of making raw materials for crackers, drying crackers to the marketing process. The most common problem faced by cracker business owners is the loss caused by the rainy season. Almost 50% to 75% of the crackers are not produced in a period of 1 to 4 months due to limited sunlight as a medium for drying crackers. This is evident from the decreasing amount of production. The most influential factor is the heating medium that changes based on natural conditions. Meanwhile, the demand for all types of crackers continues to grow. In its management, one of the dynamic elements that need to be considered is the temperature of the cracker dryer. Some of the physical variables that affect the quality of the drying process are temperature, humidity, and automatic scheduling, and to support the success of the cracker drying process, these parameters really need to be known by SME cracker business owners in Banyuwangi Regency. So the need for a cheap and energy-efficient technology for the drying process of crackers, which can produce good quality crackers, so that cracker-producing SMEs can significantly increase their production without any restrictions on natural conditions.

Abstract

The maritime logistics industry plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of trade; however, it often faces discrepancies between the number of containers booked and the number actually loaded onto ships. These discrepancies can lead to operational inefficiencies, shipment delays, and additional costs for companies. PT XYZ, as a maritime logistics service provider, encounters similar challenges. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors causing container discrepancies and to develop a predictive system for estimating the actual number of containers as a decision-support tool. This research adopts data mining, machine learning, and ensemble learning approaches, focusing on the Random Forest Regressor and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithms combined through a Voting Regressor. Hyperparameter tuning using GridSearchCV is applied to improve the model’s ability to capture complex data patterns. A quantitative approach following the CRISP-DM framework is employed, including data exploration, cleaning, feature selection, modeling, and evaluation. The study utilizes historical container booking data from PT XYZ in 2023, consisting of more than 138,000 records. The results show that the Voting Regressor achieves the best performance with an R² value of 0.7874 and an MSE of 1.6282, supported by consistent RMSE and MAE metrics. The model is implemented in a Flask-based web application that enables practical container count prediction through Microsoft Excel file uploads. The implementation of this predictive system has the potential to help PT XYZ reduce loading discrepancies, minimize additional costs, and optimize logistics planning, while also contributing academically to the application of machine learning in the maritime logistics sector.
