Abstract

Establishing a resort in a remote area holds significant potential for tourism development but requires in-depth evaluation of its operational feasibility. This study aims to assess the operational feasibility of establishing a resort in a remote area by considering economic, social, environmental, and infrastructure aspects. The research employs both quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis methods, with data collected through interviews, field surveys, and literature review. The findings indicate that although there are considerable challenges regarding accessibility and infrastructure, the potential economic benefits from tourism and local development support the operational feasibility of the resort, provided there is policy support and investment in the development of essential infrastructure.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the 3A theory (Attractions, Accessibility, and Amenities) in the development of Coban Pelangi Waterfall as a natural tourism attraction in Gubugklakah, East Java, Indonesia. The waterfall’s natural beauty, highlighted by its unique rainbow phenomenon, is the primary attraction, drawing both domestic and international visitors. Accessibility is assessed based on transportation networks, road conditions, infrastructure quality, and the ease of navigation within the site, which play critical roles in enhancing the overall visitor experience. The analysis of amenities focuses on essential facilities like parking areas, public restrooms, and accommodation options, as well as additional features such as food stalls and souvenir shops that contribute to visitor satisfaction. Using qualitative research methods, including field observations and interviews with visitors, the study identifies strengths such as the site’s captivating natural appeal, serene environment, and existing recreational activities, including trekking and photography. However, challenges remain in improving infrastructure, such as better road conditions, enhanced waste management systems, and the availability of clear directional signs to facilitate smoother navigation. The findings underscore the importance of strategic enhancements in these areas to boost visitor satisfaction, ensure environmental sustainability, and promote Coban Pelangi as a competitive and well-rounded tourism destination. Furthermore, the study highlights the potential benefits of involving local communities in conservation efforts and tourism management, fostering a sense of ownership and economic opportunity.

Abstract

The Bromo area, as one of the popular tourist destinations in Indonesia, offers a variety of interesting activities, including horse riding, which not only provides a unique experience for tourists, but also contributes significantly to the local economy. This research aims to explore the factors that influence visitors' interest in horse riding activities in the Bromo area and their implications for the management of tourist destinations. Horse riding activities in Bromo attract the attention of domestic and foreign tourists, increasing their satisfaction through deep emotional experiences amidst stunning natural views. Factors that influence visitor interest include comfort, safety, and the quality of the facilities provided. This research also shows that equestrian activities not only impact the local economy, but also contribute to cultural and environmental preservation. On the other hand, there are challenges such as high horse riding fees, which can limit accessibility for some tourists. Trekking activities are an alternative for tourists who want to experience direct contact with nature. These two activities complement each other in increasing the attractiveness of the Bromo area as a tourist destination. These findings provide insight for tourism managers to develop sustainable tourism, improve the welfare of local communities, and strengthen tourist attractions by paying attention to safety, security, comfort and accessibility factors for visitors.

Abstract

The empowerment of the Haqqul Yakin Community Reading Garden (TBM) in Tibu Kesambik Hamlet, Lepak Timur Village, aims to improve children's literacy through the KKN Bina Desa program. This TBM empowerment program employed a three-stage implementation method, namely: preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. There were several activities that were carried out such as open book donations, labeling, arranging bookshelves, and literacy assistance in reading and writing. As a result, book donations enrich the reading collection, while labeling and arranging shelves make it easier for children to choose books. Literacy assistance increases children's interest in reading and writing. This program has also succeeded in raising public awareness of the importance of literacy, providing a positive impact on the development of literacy culture in remote areas.

Abstract

The Ngadas Traditional Tourism Village, which is located in the Tengger region, Malang Regency, is one of the leading tourist attractions based on indigenous communities which manages tourism by combining local wisdom values. The aim of this research is to see how indigenous communities manage Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) to support sustainable tourism. Data was collected through observation, interviews and document analysis using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the research show that Pokdarwis Ngadas uses an approach that prioritizes preserving local customs and culture, such as Kasada rituals, agricultural traditions, and social procedures. The management model used relies on the participation of indigenous communities in traditional organizations with the guidance of traditional leaders. As a tourism center, this village offers homestays, supports cultural tourism, and encourages ecotourism. The success of this program is supported by good cooperation between indigenous communities and Pokdarwis. However, the challenges faced include dependence on natural resources and the threat of modernization. This research concludes that indigenous community-based Pokdarwis management makes a significant contribution to creating tourism that is inclusive, sustainable and based on cultural preservation. Research recommendations include increasing the capacity of Pokdarwis members through training, human resources, application of Sapta Pesona, and local community efforts.

Abstract

With the rapid expansion of IoT (Internet of Things) devices, ensuring network security has become a critical challenge. Distributed Denial of Service (DoS) and spoofing attacks are among the most common and damaging threats in IoT ecosystems. Traditional Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) often face difficulties in detecting these attacks due to the high volume and complexity of IoT network traffic. This study introduces a novel Deep Neural Network (DNN)-based IDS designed to effectively detect DoS and spoofing attacks using the CICIoT 2024 dataset. The CICIoT 2024 dataset provides a comprehensive benchmark with realistic IoT network traffic patterns, including benign and malicious activities. The results highlight the potential of DDN-based IDS to enhance IoT network security, paving the way for more resilient and intelligent defense mechanisms against evolving cyber threats. The detection results are promising, significantly improving attack detection performance, reaching up to 100%.
