Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Operational Ratio, Cash Ratio, Collection Effectiveness, and Solvency on the Return on Equity (ROE) of Regional Water Supply Companies (PERUMDA Air Minum) in North Sumatra Province. The research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis via SPSS software. Data were obtained from audited financial statements of PERUMDA Air Minum companies. The results show that all independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on ROE, with an F-value of 7.830 and a significance level of < 0.001. Partially, the Operational Ratio has a significant negative effect, while Collection Effectiveness has a significant positive effect on ROE. The Cash Ratio was found to be insignificant. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.380 indicates that 38% of ROE variation is explained by the independent variables. After removing outliers through the boxplot test, the regression model satisfied classical assumption tests and showed normally distributed data. This research contributes empirical evidence emphasizing the importance of operational efficiency and collection performance in improving the financial outcomes of regional enterprises. The findings provide valuable insights for management in developing effective financial strategies while ensuring sustainable public service.

Abstract

Background: Stroke is a common neurological disorder that requires prompt and appropriate management to prevent functional impairment. Non-pharmacological nursing interventions play an important role in supporting motor recovery, one of which is Mirror Therapy, which facilitates motor relearning through visual feedback mechanisms. Objective: This study aimed to implement nursing care for stroke patients through the application of Mirror Therapy based on Roy’s Adaptation Model. Methods: A descriptive study with a case study approach was conducted involving three stroke patients at RSUD Siti Fatimah. The intervention consisted of Mirror Therapy exercises integrated with Roy’s Adaptation Model. Data collection techniques included nursing assessment, observation, physical examination, and documentation. Nursing diagnoses were established based on the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (SDKI), and interventions were implemented using the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) and evaluated with the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI). Results: Initial assessments of all three patients revealed complaints of unilateral extremity weakness and dizziness. The identified nursing diagnoses included impaired physical mobility and risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion. After three days of Mirror Therapy intervention, all patients demonstrated improvement in extremity muscle strength scores. These findings indicate a positive functional response to the intervention. Conclusion: Mirror Therapy based on Roy’s Adaptation Model is effective in improving extremity muscle strength and addressing impaired physical mobility in patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke. This intervention can be considered a valuable non-pharmacological nursing approach to support motor recovery in stroke patients.

Abstract

Listening skills are fundamental abilities in English language learning, which include the ability to accurately receive, understand, and interpret spoken language. The aspects of listening assessed in this study were identifying main ideas, identifying specific information, making inferences, and spelling vocabulary. The Cake application is a language learning platform designed to support foreign language acquisition. Some features that can be used to teach students’ listening skills are video lessons, quizzes, and video history. In this research, only the teacher used the Cake application during lessons, while students were not permitted to access or use the application either during or outside classroom hours. This approach was intended to maintain instructional control and ensure that improvements resulted from guided use rather than independent practice. This research aims to investigate the effect of the use of Cake application in teaching listening skill and to find out the effect size of its implementation. This research uses a pre-experimental design with one-group pre-test and post-test. The research participants were tenth-grade students at SMAN 2 Teluk Keramat and the sample was selected using cluster random sampling which consisted of 28 students. The data was collected using tests given to students before and after the treatment. The results showed an increase in the average score from 68.21 on the pre-test to 75.18 on the post-test. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test showed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test (T = 17.5 t-critical = 46). The effect size value was 0.72, which indicates a large effect. This finding concludes that the use of the Cake application in teaching listening skill has a significant effect, therefore the Cake application can be used as an alternative medium for teaching English in the classroom

Abstract

This study aims describe how English teacher use code-switching practices in the classroom. The participants of this study are four teachers with experience teaching in kindergarten in Pontianak. This study was qualitative approach through case study. The data were collected by in-depth interviews. The result of this study that teachers used three types of code-switching: tag-switching, inter-sentential switching, and intra-sentential switching. These strategies were primarily employed to clarify instructions, manage classroom behavior, build rapport, and adapt to students’ varying levels of English proficiency. The frequency and manner of code-switching were also influenced by the children’s age group and the teachers’ years of teaching experience. Teachers of younger learners tended to switch languages more frequently to ensure comprehension, while more experienced teachers applied code-switching more selectively and strategically. This study concludes that code-switching should not be viewed as a sign of linguistic deficiency but rather as a responsive and effective pedagogical tool. Further research is recommended to examine the long-term impact of code-switching on bilingual development and to investigate its implementation in broader educational contexts.

Abstract

Stocks represent a capital market instrument with the potential to generate high returns. When making investment decisions, investors typically assess various internal aspects of a company, including its financial performance. The objective of this study is to examine the influence of profitability, liquidity, and leverage ratios on stock prices in the Indonesian banking sector, with a particular focus on state-owned banks, in both partial and simultaneous regression models. The methodology employed is quantitative analysis, with a secondary data set being utilized. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique, covering four state-owned banks (BRI, BNI, Mandiri, and BTN) for the 2010-2024 period. The findings of the analysis demonstrate that profitability and leverage exert a substantial negative influence on the stock prices of these banking institutions, while the liquidity ratio does not demonstrate a significant effect. Concurrently, all three variables exert an influence on stock prices, with an R-squared value of 58%.

Abstract

Background: Fracture-related pain is a common clinical problem experienced by patients following surgical procedures or traumatic injuries, which may hinder recovery and early mobilization. In addition to pharmacological treatment, non-pharmacological interventions are essential as part of holistic nursing care. One relaxation technique that can be implemented by nurses is hold finger therapy, which has the potential to reduce pain perception through relaxation mechanisms and sensory stimulation. Objective: This study aimed to describe the application of hold finger therapy and evaluate its effect on pain intensity in patients with fracture pain using a nursing case study approach. Methods: This study employed a case study design involving two patients with fracture-related conditions, including a post–Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) malunion of the right humerus and a patient with suspected nasal fracture. Hold finger therapy was administered over three consecutive days with two sessions per day. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) before the intervention and after the final session. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing pre- and post-intervention pain scores. Results: The findings demonstrated a reduction in pain intensity in both patients following the implementation of hold finger therapy. Pain scores decreased from 7 to 4 in the first patient and from 5 to 2 in the second patient. Patients also reported increased comfort, relaxation, and improved ability to perform gradual mobilization. Conclusion: Hold finger therapy is effective as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention for reducing pain in patients with fracture-related conditions. This technique supports holistic nursing care by enhancing patient comfort and pain control.

Abstract

The objective of the provision of regional autonomy is to diminish the reliance of local administrations on the central government, particularly with regard to financial matters, thereby enabling regions to finance their own operations independently. The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of population, economic growth, and government expenditure on Regional Original Income (PAD) in South Sulawesi Province. The present study constitutes a quantitative investigation, utilising secondary data from BPS with panel data, constituting time series data for the period 2019-2023, in conjunction with cross-section data from six regencies/cities. In light of the findings from the empirical investigation, it is concluded that the most suitable estimate to be employed in this study is the Common Effect Model (CEM). The findings indicate that all independent variables, namely population, economic growth, and government expenditure, collectively exert a substantial influence on regional original income in South Sulawesi Province. Meanwhile, the results of the t-test demonstrate that the population variable has a probability value of 0.0000, which is less than 0.05. It can be concluded that the population has a positive and significant effect on regional original income in South Sulawesi Province. Moreover, the probability of economic growth is determined to be 0.2502, which is greater than 0.05. This indicates that it exerts minimal influence on regional original income in South Sulawesi Province. Subsequently, the probability value of government expenditure is determined to be 0.0355, which is less than 0.05. This finding indicates that government expenditure exerts a positive and significant influence on local revenue in South Sulawesi province.
