Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic until 2021 will still affect the community's economy. The tourism sector, which is considered to have a significant multiplier effect on the economy, is also paralyzed due to restrictions on mobility. Tourism villages are a big hope for pandemic mitigation because they move the community's economy from the smallest administrative area. Village communities are encouraged to be able to accelerate the use of technology as a factor of production to increase output/product. The reality in the field shows that not all business actors and BUMDes use e-commerce to promote and market their business results. This community service activity aims to provide recharging and technology supplies to increase sales of tourist village products through e-commerce. The target audience in this activity is SME actors and BUMDes managers in Kopeng Village, Getasan District. The method of community service activities uses lectures, practices and mentoring. First, participants will be given a lecture about e-commerce. Furthermore, participants will practice using e-commerce. The results of community service activities show increased understanding and use of e-commerce.

Abstract

Coffee farming demands substantial amounts of fertilizer. Furthermore, the expensive cost of chemical fertilizers prompt coffee growers to seek alternative remedies. One emerging solution is the utilization of organic fertilizer. This study aims to assess the impact of organic fertilizer, specifically made from rabbit manure and urine, on the growth of Arabica and Robusta coffee seedlings. The experiment focused on the context of coffee cultivation in Temanggung Regency, comparing the effects with goat manure fertilizer. The method was initiated by producing organic fertilizer, encompassing rabbit manure, goat manure, and rabbit urine. Then, the fertilizer was applied to Arabica and Robusta seedlings. The research employs quantitative and descriptive analyses. Quantitative data encompasses the nutrient content of each fertilizer and soil, plant height, leaves number, and stem diameter. Descriptive analysis involves the overall performance evaluation. The application of rabbit manure and urine as fertilizers to Arabica and Robusta coffee seedlings yields positive outcomes, i.e. enhancing plant height, leaves number, and seedling diameter. Among the tested organic fertilizers, rabbit urine notably influenced the plant height, leaves number, and stem diameter of both seedlings. The performance of the rabbit urine treatment exhibited healthier attributes compared to those without any fertilizer, such as sturdy leaves and robust stems. Additionally, the root systems of the untreated plants appear less vigorous with sparser root hairs.

Abstract

The substantial amount of food waste generated in Sragen Regency due to inadequate food loss and waste (FLW) management has a detrimental impact on the environment. This study aims to analyze the efforts to optimize FLW management, examine the relationships between variables, and assess stakeholder synergy in accelerating FLW management to support the implementation of a circular economy in the Sragen Regency. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, with data analysis conducted using MICMAC and MACTOR methodologies. The MICMAC analysis results indicate that stakeholder relationships, waste prevention, location factors, cultural factors, and community scale are the core variables for accelerating improvements in FLW management. In contrast, the MACTOR analysis identifies the Environmental Agency (DLH), Kecik Waste Bank, and Si Repi Waste Bank as the primary stakeholders in these efforts. Additionally, the MACTOR analysis highlights changes in community behavior and the utilization of FLW in the circular economy as primary objectives agreed upon by all stakeholders. The findings from the MICMAC and MACTOR analyses provide a basis and reference for determining the model and grand design of an FLW management acceleration strategy to support the implementation of a circular economy in the Sragen Regency.

Abstract

The repetition of policy dynamics on Quantitative Easing (QE) and interest rate by The Fed potentially cause fluctuations in the exchange rate, including in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the determinants and impacts of exchange rate shocks. Inflation (INF), Money Supply (LJUB), Open Market Operations (OPT), Foreign Exchange Reserves (LCD), Expected Inflation (LEHU) and Interest Rates (SB) were used to analyze the determinants of Exchange Rate (NT) through Auto Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). The impact of NT shocks was analyzed using Vector Auto Regressive (VAR) by LEHU, Residential Property Price Index (PIHPR), Stock Transactions (LTRANS), and Banking Credit Volume (VK). The Expected Inflation variable and incorporation of ARDL-VAR are novelties in this study. In the secondary time series data for 2014M1 – 2022M9 period, the ARDL results showed that INF and LJUB had positive effect on NT in both long and short run, while OPT, LCD and SB had negative effect. LEHU had negative effect in the short run, but positive in the long run. The speed of adjustment in the model was 49.86% per month. Shock of NT had impacted VK until 15 months, PIHPR at 7 months, LTRANS at 10 months, and LEHU at 14 months. Based on these results, it can be implied that the monetary authority must maintain stability of NT, especially by INF and LJUB transmission. Next, shock's impact must also be overcome, especially on VK. This research is only focused on monetary sector, further research will be refined with other macroeconomic variables.

Abstract

Indonesia has an economic transformation. However, it tends to experience deindustrialization and development inclusivity challenges. This research examines the influence of industrialization and inclusivity to improve welfare in the short and long term. The analytical method is Autoregressive Distributed Lag, using province-level panel data from 2012–2021. Based on results, industrialization has not significantly affected welfare improvement in the short term. Inclusivity has no significant impact in the short term, but it has a negative direction. However, in the long term, industrialization and inclusivity positively and significantly increase welfare. This confirms that industrialization and inclusivity require time to create welfare.

Abstract

Farmers' Terms of Trade is an essential variable for measuring welfare and is also affected by other factors, such as inflation and rice prices. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the interplay among inflation, rice prices, and farmers' Terms of Trade in food crop farming in Central Java Province, in short and long term using a dynamic model. A quantitative method employing Autoregressive distributed lags (ARDL) model was used with monthly data from January 2018 to March 2023. The results showed that rice prices and inflation partially had a significant and positive influence on farmers’ Terms of Trade in long term. According to short term estimation, the dependent variable was significantly and positively influenced by farmers' Terms of Trade from the previous 1-2 months. Inflation rate was also shown to have a positive influence on the variable in short term. In addition, rice prices had a positive and significant impact in the previous 3 months, but had no significant influence in recent months. Based on the results, inflation could positively influence farmers’ Terms of Trade in short and long term. However, the recent rice prices had no impact due to the requirement of time lags. The assessment findings showed that recent rice prices could significantly increase farmers’ Terms of Trade in the next 3 months and long term period.

Abstract

Competition in the global market is challenging for technopreneurs to develop strategies that provide a comparative advantage to win the competition. The article aims to develop a model for applying agricultural product e-marketplaces, including the involvement of related stakeholders in Semarang and Magelang Regency, Indonesia. The study employs two primary analytical methods: the MACTOR framework, which assesses alliances, conflicts, and strategic recommendations, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize decision-making criteria. The results showed that developing agricultural product e-marketplaces requires collaboration from various stakeholders. Notably, consumers, who play a crucial role in the success of the e-marketplace, emerge as the most influential actors, while middlemen are identified as the most dependent. The primary challenge in developing an agricultural product e-marketplace is ensuring smooth food distribution. At the same time, alternative priorities include increasing business partnerships between local agricultural cooperatives and entrepreneurs/investors and providing infrastructure to support the development of e-marketplaces. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders in e-marketplace development and implementation of agricultural products so that they can be aligned for the success of the entire e-marketplace system.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development strategies of the creative economy in the craft subsector in Banyuning Village, Buleleng District, Bali, focusing on three main aspects: production, marketing, and human resource development (HRD). Using a qualitative method with a descriptive design and a case study approach, this research explores current phenomena through interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. Data validity was checked using source triangulation, and data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and verification. The research findings indicate that the development strategy for production requires efficiency and innovation in production techniques, improvement in product quality, and the adoption of environmentally friendly practices. However, there are challenges in capital and technology assistance that are not aligned with the needs of local practitioners. In marketing, the main challenges are the lack of market information access and negotiation capacity, which can be addressed through product diversification, extensive promotion, and the socialization of branding and independent export guidance. For HRD, priorities are given to training and skill development, building an organizational culture that supports collaboration and innovation, and policies that support employee welfare and motivation. This research uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the priority strategies for development. The results show that the three main priorities for production are maintaining sustainability with environmentally friendly practices, product diversification, and adopting the latest technology. In marketing, the priorities are opening profitable market opportunities, extensive promotion, and the socialization of branding and independent export guidance. For HRD, the priorities are employee training and development, building a culture of collaboration and innovation, and policies supporting employee welfare and motivation. With the right strategies and well-planned implementation, it is hoped that the craft industry in Banyuning Village can develop sustainably, contribute positively to the local economy, and preserve environmental sustainability and cultural heritage.

Abstract

This study investigates the optimization of faculty expertise by leveraging commercial intellectual property (IP) achievements to facilitate the downstreaming of research outputs. It explores how universities can enhance their research impact and contribute to societal and economic development by effectively commercializing their intellectual assets. Emphasizing external aspects in policy reform, the research examines the intricate intersection of academia, industry, and legal frameworks. By aligning academic endeavors with policy reform initiatives, universities can create a conducive environment for knowledge transfer and innovation diffusion. This paper underscores the significance of integrating commercial IP achievements into academic practices to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications. Through strategic partnerships with industry and effective utilization of legal mechanisms, universities can maximize the commercial potential of their intellectual assets. Furthermore, by fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among faculty members, universities can drive impactful research outcomes that address societal challenges and fuel economic growth. The findings suggest that policymakers play a crucial role in shaping the regulatory landscape to incentivize and support commercialization efforts within academia. By implementing policies that streamline IP management processes and provide adequate funding and infrastructure support, governments can foster a vibrant innovation ecosystem that promotes collaboration between academia and industry. Ultimately, this study advocates for a holistic approach to research commercialization that integrates academic, industrial, and policy perspectives to maximize societal benefits and promote sustainable development.
