Abstract

This research aims to create effective physics e-comic learning media to help students understand Newton’s concepts. The Research and Development method was used in conjunction with a 4-D development model that consists of four stages: definition, design, development, and dissemination. At the definition stage, a series of needs analysis was carried out, collecting and analyzing information. After a series of definitions had been formulated, the next step was to design. This stage involved designing the product that would be created in accordance with the previously completed definition formula. After the design stage was completed, the designing stage consisted of two steps, namely expert appraisal (expert assessment), accompanied by revisions and developmental testing (development trials) up to the deployment stage. A limited trial on 27 students of class VIII from SMP Negeri 15 Semarang resulted in an increase of 80% in student learning outcomes in final physics learning with the criteria “very feasible.” Based on limited trials, the e-comic media developed was effective and could be used as a physics learning medium to build understanding of Newtonian material physics concepts. This research could serve as a foundation for several other studies that employed diverse and innovative learning media, such as e-comics, which could have ramifications for readers’ understanding of several concepts related to their cognitive abilities.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills help students analyse information deeply, make rational decisions, and solve problems creatively. Meanwhile, digital literacy is a key competency for navigating the rapid, diverse flow of information in today’s technological era. The purpose of this study is to examine students’ profiles of critical thinking skills and digital literacy in physics learning. This research employs a descriptive qualitative design. Data on critical thinking skills were collected through written tests containing descriptive questions. Students' digital literacy skills were measured using a questionnaire on student learning habits with digital media. The results of this study indicate that, in general, students' critical thinking skills in physics learning are currently in the category, with an average percentage of 68,4% however, students' weaknesses are visible in the indicators, conclude and set strategy and tactics, each with a percentage 62% and 56%, which is in the category low. Skill analysis results: digital literacy students showed better achievement, with an average percentage of 68,2%, which is in the good category. However, as with critical thinking skills, challenges arise in indicators' digital content production (58%) and personal data security (63%), both of which are in the 'enough' category. These results indicate that although students already possess basic critical thinking and digital literacy skills, several important aspects need improvement. This improvement can be achieved through a more integrated physics learning, with activities that emphasise in-depth analysis, information synthesis, and the safe and secure production of digital content.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Android-based educational game that can increase students' understanding of the concept of solving. The development method used is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) with a heuristic approach. This heuristic approach involves a user-oriented design process, prioritizing ease of use and compatibility with scouting materials. This game is designed with an attractive and interactive appearance, and is equipped with games that are tailored to students' abilities. The trial results show that this educational game is effective in increasing students' understanding of the concept of fractions. A part from that, students also gave positive responses to the use of games as a learning medium. This year's Scout extracurricular is indeed a non-compulsory extracurricular but schools are obliged to organize scout extracurricular activities, in the current digital era, learning media applications and educational games are really needed in schools from elementary school to high school. Therefore, this research aims to apply the basics of scouting by using articulate storyline 3 software as a learning medium for students and can be implemented during the activity.

Abstract

Catfish (Pangasius sp.) is a freshwater fish commodity that is widely cultivated in the Indonesian fisheries sector. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of fortification of liquid probiotics bioprisma and biogan on the protein and fat of catfish meat in the biofloc aquaponics technology. The catfish used in this study was 7-8 cm in size. The research was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 3 treatments and 3 replications, the treatments were as follows: P0 = without addition of probiotics, P1 = addition of bioprisma probiotics 0.15 mL/l,5 L of water, P2 = addition of biogan probiotics 0,15 mL/l,5 L of water. The data obtained were then processed and calculated using ANOVA at a 95% confidence interval if a significant effect was found, then continued with Duncan's further test. This study indicates that the addition of probiotic to catfish culture media can affect body protein, body fat, and water quality environmental condition (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, DO) of catfish. The addition of probiotics in the P1 (addition of bioprisma probiotics 0,15 mL/l ,5 L of water) gave the best effect in increasing the growth of  catfish, 18,70% body protein and 8,73% body fat. The integration of biofloc with aquaponics technologies can eliminate geographical limitations and accelerate the urbanization of aquaculture.
