Abstract

Several previous studies have tried to develop mathematics learning applications, but they are still limited as a learning medium. Developing a digital-based mathematics learning application that facilitates learning from start to finish is necessary. This study aims to develop a viable and effective mobile application. The Development Process uses the CAI design model, which includes needs assessment, design, and development & implementation. Formative evaluations were obtained from expert reviews and students. The experts involved are experts in content, learning media, and multimedia. The formative evaluation stage by students includes one-to-one trials, small groups, and field trials. Research data was collected through questionnaires and test questions. This study involved 1 teacher and 52 high school students in Indonesia. The average score of expert reviews is 3.6, which is in the category of very good. The average score obtained from Formative Evaluation by students is 3.5, with an excellent category. The pretest and post-test scores showed an increase of 40% in students who achieved the completeness of learning outcomes. The average score of N-gain is 0.4 in the medium category. The Ajarin Mobile Application is feasible and effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research is expected to be an alternative digital learning resource that makes it easier for teachers to facilitate mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

Adolescence is a time when emotional development is still not fully established, particularly for adolescents living in orphanages. These individuals often experience more vulnerable and unstable emotions compared to their peers who live at home. Therefore, it's essential to find effective ways to manage these emotions, one of which is through expressive writing using the EXPRIT approach. The implementation of this activity is designed to provide adolescents with knowledge and develop their skills in emotional management, thereby improving their mental health and teaching them how to express their thoughts and feelings more effectively. The results of this activity showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test outcomes, as revealed by a paired sample t-test analysis. This indicates that the EXPRIT approach can be an effective method for helping adolescents at the Aisyiyah 4 Simo Boyolali orphanage manage their emotions.

Adolescents who experience stress and are unable to cope with it are at risk of experiencing various negative impacts. Therefore, the development of a stress management program is essential. The purpose of this community service is to enhance students' understanding of stress and its management techniques, enabling them to manage stress more effectively. The method used in this service consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. This activity includes socialization on stress, stress management, and the use of journaling as a stress reduction medium. The results of this activity include the identification of stress-causing factors, such as traumatic experiences, pressure from others, family problems, unhealthy situations, and so on. Nevertheless, several positive impacts were observed after the activity, such as increased knowledge about stress and appropriate ways to manage it.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of gratitude and forgiveness on resilience in Muslim students in Yogyakarta. This study used quantitative research with a correlational approach, data were collected from 392 Muslim students in grades 10 to 12 in Yogyakarta. The scales used in this study were: 1) The Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6); 2) Heartland Forgiveness Scale; and 3) Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale-10 Items. The sample of this study was taken using simple random sampling. Data analyze was conducted using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results showed that both gratitude and forgiveness positively and significantly affected resilience in Muslim students. The path coefficients showed that increased gratitude and forgiveness were correlated with increased resilience. These findings underline the vital role of gratitude and forgiveness as sources of psychological strength in facing challenges and growing resilience among Muslim students. This study contributes to understanding relevant psychological factors in a religious context that can support well-being and resilience in Muslim adolescents. The implications of this study suggest the importance of developing positive strength-based interventions, such as gratitude and forgiveness training, to improve resilience in Muslim students. Islamic-based gratitude counselling is recommended in the future.

Abstract

Globalization and modernization have made English proficiency a key factor in student success. However, Indonesia's performance remains low, ranking 79th out of 113 countries in the EF English Proficiency Index, with only 46% of students in Bekasi Regency meeting the minimum standard in 2021. This study investigates the impact of intrapersonal intelligence and learning models. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Discovery Learning (DL)—on English achievement among vocational high school students. Using a 2x2 factorial experimental design, 70 students were assigned to PjBL (experimental) and DL (control) groups, categorized by high (B1) and low (B2) intrapersonal intelligence. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Tukey tests. Results revealed: (1) PjBL led to significantly better outcomes than DL; (2) a significant interaction existed between learning models and intrapersonal intelligence; (3) students with high intrapersonal intelligence in the PjBL group outperformed their DL counterparts by 13.20 points; (4) students with low intrapersonal intelligence performed better with DL, with a score difference of -3.90. These findings suggest vocational English teachers should apply PjBL for students with strong intrapersonal skills and DL for those with lower levels. Policymakers are urged to incorporate emotional intelligence components into national curriculum development.
