Abstract

Abstract The limitations of intellectual work produced by teachers are due to a lack of sufficient knowledge and insight about writing scientific papers. In addition, teachers are not used to doing research. Thus, teachers have difficulties in writing scientific research results that meet the publication requirements in a journal. Meanwhile, the need for scientific papers plays a strategic role as an effort to develop the teaching profession. This community service aims to provide training and assistance for SMP PPKn teachers in DKI Jakarta so that they can improve their skills in writing scientific papers. The method used in this service is mentoring, discussion and direct technical guidance. This activity has a significant impact on the ease for teachers in understanding scientific writing techniques. This can be seen from the results of the questionnaires given to respondents by 78.6%. Besides that, 82.1% of respondents assessed that this service material was in accordance with the needs and expectations of the teacher. These results indicate that training in writing scientific papers supports teachers to develop professional competence in the field of scientific publications. Abstrak Keterbatasan karya intelektual yang dihasilkan oleh guru dikarenakan minimnya pengetahuan dan wawasan yang cukup tentang penulisan karya ilmiah. Selain itu belum terbiasanya guru melakukan penelitian. Sehingga, guru memiliki kesulitan dalam menulis karya ilmiah hasil penelitian yang memenuhi syarakat publikasi pada sebuah jurnal. Sedangkan kebutuhan karya tulis ilmiah berperan strategis sebagai upaya pengembangan profesi guru. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi guru PPKn SMP di DKI Jakarta agar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karya ilmiah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu pendampingan, diskusi dan bimbingan teknis secara langsung. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak yang cukup signifikan terhadap kemudahan bagi guru dalam memahami Teknik penulisan karya ilmiah. Hal tersebut terlihat dari hasil kuesioner yang diberikan kepada responden sebesar 78,6%. Disamping itu, 82,1% responden menilai materi pengabdian ini sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan harapan guru. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan penulisan karya ilmiah mendukung guru untuk mengembangkan kompetensi professional di bidang publikasi ilmiah.

Abstract

Academic burnout is a kind of problem experienced by students. To deal with this, acceptance and commitment therapy group counseling was assumed to be the solution. Hence, this study attempted to examine the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy group counseling to reduce students’ academic burnout. It used multiple group pretest-posttest design and involved 14 students grouped into two chosen using purposive sampling technique based on high level of academic burnout. The students’ data were collected using Maslach Burnout Inventory-Students Survey (MBI-SS) which has been adopted to Indonesian and obtained cornbach alpha coefficient of 0.85. Based on mixed ANOVA test, the acceptance and commitment therapy grup counseling was effective to reduce the students’ academic burnout. Further implications and limitations of this study are discussed in the discussion chapter

Abstract

Smartphone addiction is a problem experienced by students in academic and social environments. The reality group counseling with confrontation technique is predicted to be able to reduce student’s smartphone addiction. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of group counseling using a confrontation approach to reduce the level of smartphone addiction in college students. It study used an experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were 14 college students who were divided into two groups. Research subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of college students who had a high level of smartphone addiction. The data were taken using the Smartphone Addiction Inventory (SPAI) instrument which was adapted into Indonesian with a reliability level of .90 (alpha chronbach). Those were analyzed quantitatively using the Wilcoxon sign-rank test. The results of data analysis showed that group counseling using a reality counseling approach with confrontation technique could effectively reduce the level of smartphone addiction in students. The implications of the research results are presented in the discussion.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior is a common problem found in students. Thus, the present study strived for examining the effectiveness of group counseling with role playing and behavioral rehearsal techniques to reduce students’ aggressive behavior. It used randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design and involved 21 students divided into three groups. Those who participated in this study were the ones with high level of aggressive behavior. To collect the behavioral data, the researchers used Aggression Questionnaire scale that has been adapted to Indonesian and obtained alpha coefficient of 0.75. Based on Wilcoxon test, the group counseling which separately applied role playing, and behavioral rehearsal technique has effectively reduced aggressive behavior. Even, when those techniques were combined better results were obtained. These prove that this intervention can be implemented as an effort to reduce students’ aggressive behavior.

Abstract

Marriage at a young age and lack of preparation are risky to various marriage problems which can lead to divorce. This phenomenological study attempted to describe divorce phenomenon among young couples. Its data were interpreted using a qualitative approach through thematic analysis. Within this analysis, those data were classified into four sub-themes, including: (1) factors which trigger household disharmony among young couples; (2) causes of divorce; (3) efforts made to protect household when there is disapproval from partners; and (4) reasons for filing for divorce. Findings showed that there were various factors that caused divorce among young couples according to mediators’ opinions, selfish, unstable emotion, bad communication, and economy. Meanwhile, the young couples said that they filed for divorce because of abuse, infidelity, and unmet needs. Thus, these findings can give contributions to counselors, extension agents, and social workers, not to mention as a guide to provide pre-marital and post-marital guidance interventions for young couples.

Abstract

Most of toxic online disinhibition perpretrators see their behavior as a means of fulfilling basic needs related to fun and freedom. However, it is a negative thing since it contradicts the principles of right, responsibility, and reality. Regarding these issues, the present study strived for examining the effectiveness of reality group counseling with confrontation and being-positive techniques to reduce toxic online disinhibition behavior. It involved 18 students chosen using a purposive sampling technique and grouped into three randomly in which each consisted of six students. Their data were collected using a toxic online disinhibition scale. Based on the results of mixed ANOVA statistical test, there laid the effect of time towards the reduction of toxic online disinhibition, namely (F (1.10, 16.558) = 317.66, p<0.01). The group effect on the reduction of online toxic disinhibition was also significant (F(2, 15) = 3.96, p<0.05). In terms of time interaction, the effect result was (F (2.21, 16.558) = 21.48, p<0.01). Thus, the findings of this study have confirmed that the group with the mixed techniques gained the highest effectiveness among the other groups. Finally, the study also serves interesting implications and suggestions to consider in the practice of reality group counseling.

Abstract

Prosocial behavior is urgent due to individual’s concerning behavior in today’s era. Violence, fight, abuse, and bullying are some phenomena which indicate someone has low prosocial behavior. The aim of this study was to prove whether religious orientation can affect prosocial behavior. It used a correlational design and involved 210 students of class XI. Findings revealed that religious orientation affected the increase in students’ prosocial behavior. Thus, students’ religiosity needs to be enhanced to boost the development of prosocial behavior.

Abstract

Counselor performance greatly determines the quality of education. Some aspects to consider in assessing this performance are the results of supervision by the school principal, a professional attitude and good digital literacy in the counselor. Regarding this matter, the current study aimed to analyze the influence of supervision, professional attitude and digital literacy on the performance of Vocational High School or SMK counselors using regression analysis. It involved 140 counselors at SMK as the subject selected using a proportional random sampling tehcnique. Their responses were recorded using questionnaires to be the quantitative data. In addition, the questionnaires were in form of the scales of supervision, professional attitudes, digital literacy, and performance. Since the data were quantitative, the design of this study was ex post facto. After being analyzed, the findings revealed supervision, professional attitudes, and digital literacy significantly affected the performance of vocational guidance and counseling teachers. Hence, it is expected that school principals will continue to improve academic supervision, while counselors are suggested to improve professional attitudes and digital literacy.

Abstract

Secondary school level is a strategic level in which a human must improve his knowledge or insights about a future profession and career planning. Thus, the present study strived for examining the effectiveness of quick response code-based career profession cards to enhance the insights of eight graders. The students’ data were collected using a career insights scale and further analyzed using paired sample statistic test and paired sample t-test. Following the analysis, there was an effect of quick response code-based career profession cards on the improvement of eight graders career insights. Therefore, the medium of quick response code-based career profession cards needs to be utilized to enhance students’ career insights.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan yang begitu cepat di abad 21 mendorong manusia untuk berfikir dan bertindak mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan harus bisa menyesuaikan keadaan agar tetap berkembang sebagai organisasi pembelajar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui (1) Model organisasi belajar dalam membangun sekolah; dan (2) Sekolah sebagai organisasi belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan studi literatur (literatur review) dengan teknik pengumpul data: 1) pengumpulan data berupa artikel jurnal internasional maupun nasional yang terindeks, buku, serta reverensi lain yang berhubungan dengan tujuan penelitian, 2) pemeriksaan data, 3) mengorganisasi data, dan 4) menganalisis data yang telah diperoleh. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) model organisasi belajar untuk membangun sekolah dengan mengembangkan lima displin organisasi belajar antara lain: Berfikir sistem (System Thinking), Belajar Tim (Team Learning), Model Mental (Mental Model), Pengontrolan Diri (Personal Mastery), dan Visi Bersama (Shared Vision); dan (2) Sekolah sebagai organisasi belajar dapat diwujudkan dengan empat pilar pendidikan yaitu : 1) Learning To Know, 2) Learning To Do, 3) Learning To Be, dan  4) Learning To Live Together. Membangun sekolah sebagai organisasi belajar agar sekolah dapat tumbuh dan berkembang sesuai kemajuan zaman serta dapat mengoptimalkan individu agar terus belajar secara efektif dalam menghadapi tantangan global.
