Abstract

This study is to explore how contemporary women, as representations of modern-day Kartini, are capable of challenging the status quo through their ideas and concrete actions, particularly in the field of education. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using the listen-and-note technique, as data were obtained by observing verbal narratives from the YouTube channel of Gita Wirjawan, titled "Maudy Ayunda: Kartini Modern Berani Tantang Status Quo", featuring Maudy Ayunda, along with public documentation of her thoughts on the urgency of transforming Indonesia’s education system. The findings reveal that Maudy Ayunda’s perspectives on holistic education, curriculum flexibility, and digital literacy reflect the spirit of emancipation that not only advocates for women's rights but also expands the space for systemic reform in an education system that remains rigid and non-inclusive. As a figure of the modern Kartini, Maudy utilizes digital platforms to foster collective awareness of the need to shift educational paradigms. This study originates from the observation of the evolving roles of women in digital society and the growing urgency for systemic change within higher education institutions and beyond.

Abstract

In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, organizational competitiveness is increasingly influenced by the quality of its human capital. Central to this is work culture, which serves as a foundation for promoting innovation, productivity, and employee well-being. This study adopts a qualitative literature review approach to examine how work culture affects employee performance. The analysis synthesizes findings from scholarly sources published within the last decade to ensure relevance and rigor. Results reveal that a strong and positive work culture characterized by open communication, mutual respect, ethical values, and managerial support—significantly contributes to individual and team performance. Moreover, cultural elements such as selfefficacy, motivation, fair workload distribution, and a supportive work environment mediate the relationship between organizational values and employee outcomes. These insights affirm the necessity of fostering a collaborative, values-driven workplace culture as a strategic imperative for sustainable organizational success.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the urgency of reason and conscience (akal budi) in modern life through a content analysis of the Endgame podcast episode titled "Akal Budi Tidak untuk Disia-siakan" ("Reason and Conscience Are Not to Be Wasted"). The research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis and philosophical hermeneutics. The main findings reveal that akal budi is a fundamental human potential increasingly marginalized in a pragmatic and materialistic contemporary culture. The podcast invites deep reflection on how fast-paced, competitive, and technocentric modern life has diminished the contemplative spaces essential for nurturing human wisdom. Furthermore, the grounded philosophical discourse in the podcast offers a novel, accessible, and existential approach to life. The novelty of this research lies in utilizing podcast media as a contextual and spiritual source of philosophical thought. The study implies the urgency of reforming education and public discourse to foster spaces that support conscience, moral reflection, and human-centered values.

Abstract

This study examines the operational effectiveness of private tutoring services by adapting the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concept to the non-formal education sector. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on a case study, data was collected through observations, schedule documentation, and evaluation records over an operational period. The analysis revealed Availability of 90%, Performance of 89%, and Quality of 90%, resulting in an OEE of 72%. This figure indicates that service effectiveness is quite good but has not yet reached world-class levels (generally around 85% or higher) as recommended by OEE literature adapted for the service and education sectors. The novelty of this study lies in the use of OEE as a data-driven measurement tool in the context of non-formal education services, specifically private tutoring, to encourage evidence-based continuous improvement. The implications of this study provide an evaluative framework and practical recommendations for private tutoring program managers to enhance service quality through systematic and measurable improvements.

Abstract

This study analyzes the operational effectiveness of private tutoring services by adapting the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concept from the manufacturing sector to non-formal education. A descriptive qualitative research design with a case study was conducted on 20 students during one operational period; data were collected through observations of learning activities, schedule documentation, and learning evaluation records. The results showed Availability of 90%, Performance of 89%, and Quality of 90%, resulting in a total OEE value of 72%. This figure indicates that service effectiveness is relatively good but still far from the world-class measure often emphasized in the OEE literature for educational services, which generally ranges around 85% or more, thus providing room for concrete improvement. The novelty of the study lies in adapting the OEE concept to non-formal educational services, specifically private tutoring, making it a data-driven operational measurement tool that can be operated by PNFI managers for continuous improvement. Practically, these findings encourage increased data-driven schedule planning, pedagogical competency enhancement, learning differentiation, and the implementation of a performance dashboard to encourage evidence-based corrective actions. The main research questions answered are how OEE adapted from TPM can operationally measure the effectiveness of private tutoring services in non-formal education; what sources of time loss (waste) affect Availability and Performance; how instructional differentiation and teacher capacity building are related to quality improvement; and how the use of performance dashboards and learning analytics strengthens data-driven decision-making for service quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors that influence the increase in net profit in companies through a Systematic Literature Review approach. Increasing net profit is one of the main objectives of the company, which affects investment decisions and business sustainability. Given the importance of understanding these factors, this research is relevant to provide a comprehensive overview of the elements that affect company profitability. This topic was chosen because although many studies have examined the factors of net profit, there is no research that combines various industry sectors and external factors that affect the financial performance of companies. This research was conducted by collecting and analyzing relevant articles from various scientific journals from 2003 to 2024, by identifying internal factors such as company size, capital structure and operational efficiency, as well as external factors such as macroeconomic conditions, government policies and competition. The results of the analysis show that both internal and external factors significantly affect a firm's net profit, with firm size and operational efficiency having a greater impact. The findings address the issues explored by providing strong evidence regarding the role of external factors that are often overlooked in previous studies. This research makes a significant contribution in understanding the factors that influence net profit, as well as providing practical recommendations for managers to optimize the company's financial performance.

Abstract

Bullying remains a pervasive problem in junior high schools worldwide, with documented negative consequences for students’ mental health, academic achievement, and school climate. Traditional disciplinary approaches have shown limited effectiveness, creating a policy gap in preventive, relationship-based interventions. This study presents a policy-oriented case analysis of a peer mentoring system—locally termed the “student guardianship system” (sistem asuh antar siswa)—implemented at SMP Aya Sophia Islamic School as a low-cost, integrated governance strategy to prevent bullying and strengthen school climate through familial relationships. Using qualitative policy-oriented methodology, the research collected data through document analysis, semi-structured interviews with school leaders and teachers, and observational implementation notes. Findings reveal that the system operates through a hierarchical structure pairing older students as mentors (“kakak asuh”) with younger cohorts, embedded within formal school governance, supported by regular facilitation meetings and aligned counseling services. The mechanism prevents bullying through structural monitoring, creates psychological belonging and safety, and activates peer support networks. Teachers and administrators report measurable improvements in student risk-taking behavior reduction, enhanced school connectedness, and improved academic engagement—effects consistent with peer mentoring and school climate literature. The study’s novelty lies in demonstrating how faith-based institutional values (nilai kekeluargaan, family-centered values) can operationalize peer mentoring at scale within existing school structures, addressing both prevention and governance simultaneously. Implementability is high: the system requires minimal external resources, aligns with Islamic educational principles, and is readily replicable in comparable school contexts. Recommendations address formal institutionalization through school standard procedures (SOP), mentoring training protocols, and periodic monitoring frameworks.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the influence of parenting methods in Indonesian families on children’s academic achievement, character formation, and resilience. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA framework, this research synthesizes empirical findings from multidisciplinary databases, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative studies. The analysis is grounded in Baumrind’s parenting typology and supported by ecological and family systems perspectives. The results indicate that authoritative parenting, characterized by warmth, responsiveness, and structured guidance, is consistently associated with better cognitive, emotional, and behavioral outcomes. In contrast, authoritarian and neglectful parenting styles tend to be linked with lower academic performance, weaker moral development, and reduced resilience. The review also suggests that parenting practices may contribute to broader educational challenges and emerging social patterns related to youth adaptability. This study contributes by integrating evidence on parenting and developmental outcomes within the Indonesian context, offering a more comprehensive understanding of family influence on human capital development. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening family-based education and collaboration between families, schools, and communities to support sustainable developmental outcomes.

Abstract

Capacity management has become a critical strategic imperative for global organisations in the face of uncertain and complex market dynamics. This comprehensive literature review analyses 11 reputable Scopus Q1 articles (2021–2026) addressing capacity management within the contexts of supply chains, manufacturing, tourism, and business systems. This study identifies five key dimensions: (1) volume flexibility and capacity management, (2) supply chain capacity management and resilience, (3) destination capacity, (4) production planning and manufacturing capacity, and (5) business process optimisation. The analysis reveals a significant shift from a purely tactical-operational approach towards a holistic perspective that integrates strategic, technological, and sustainability dimensions. Empirical findings indicate that companies optimising production capacity utilisation achieve 15–30% higher operational efficiency than their competitors, with average global capacity utilisation reaching only 70–80% across all industrial sectors. This research synthesises three main theoretical frameworks—the Resource-Based View (RBV), the Dynamic Capability View (DCV), and the Technology-Organisation-Environment (TOE) framework—to develop a comprehensive understanding of capacity management as a driver of competitive advantage. Innovative contributions include: (1) a systematic mapping of the contemporary capacity management research landscape that identifies emerging trends and the evolution of intellectual discourse; (2) a holistic integration of operational, strategic, technological, and sustainability perspectives previously fragmented across the literature; and (3) the identification of critical research gaps and future research directions that guide academic inquiry and industrial practice. Research impact: This literature review bridges a significant knowledge-practice gap in the implementation of capacity management, particularly for SMEs and emerging markets, and provides a practical framework for integrating AI, IoT, and cloud computing technologies into capacity decision-making systems.
