Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) Score and profitability on company value in companies listed in the Kompas100 index during the 2020-2022 period. The variables used in this study are the disclosure of ESG and profitability (ROA) as independent variables. The research population includes all companies listed in the Kompas100 index in 2020-2022. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling method and produced 156 samples. The data analysis method used was panel data regression analysis with the selection of the best model with the E-Views 13.0 Enterprise application. The results of this study show that ESG Score disclosure has a significant positive influence on company value. Profitability has a negative influence on the value of the company. In addition, the control variables of firm size and firm growth have a positive influence on the company's value, while firm age has a negative influence on the company's value.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has led to changes in the financial behavior of Generation Z. However, these changes have not been fully accompanied by sound Saving Behavior. The phenomenon of low saving rates indicates that most individuals in Generation Z remain oriented toward short-term consumption rather than allocating income for savings. Therefore, digital literacy, financial planning, and Self-control are essential in fostering healthy Saving Behavior among Generation Z in Pontianak City. This study employs a causal quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires using purposive sampling techniques. The research sample consists of 200 Generation Z respondents in Pontianak City. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS version 4 software. The results indicate that digital literacy has a positive but insignificant effect on Saving Behavior, while Financial Planning and Self-control have positive and significant effects on Saving Behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether global commodity prices, namely palm oil, gold, and crude oil, affect the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period, focusing on short-term and long-term impacts through the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the three commodities have different influence patterns. Palm oil prices have a significant negative impact on the JCI in both the short and long term. Gold prices have a significant positive impact in both time frames. Meanwhile, crude oil prices only show a significant positive impact in the short term, and an insignificant impact in the long term. VECM estimation supports the understanding of transmission mechanisms in an open economy. Global commodity price shocks do not directly affect the domestic stock market permanently, but rather through different adjustment processes between commodities. The variation between short-term and long-term impacts confirms that each commodity has a unique role, level of influence, and duration of impact on the JCI movement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of personality factors consisting of Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism on Investment Decisions with Investment Intention as an intervening variable among investors in Indonesia. The study employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The research population consists of investors in Indonesia, with a sample of 487 respondents determined through purposive sampling. Primary data were collected through questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from official publications related to the development of investors in Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS with SmartPLS through the evaluation of the outer model (convergent validity, discriminant validity, AVE, reliability, and collinearity) and the inner model (R-square and hypothesis testing through bootstrapping). The results indicate that all constructs meet the criteria of validity and reliability. The model demonstrates moderate explanatory power with an R² value of investment intention of 0.577 and an R² value of investment decisions of 0.651. Structurally, Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, and Agreeableness have a significant positive effect on Investment Intention and Investment Decisions, while Neuroticism does not have a significant effect on either. Investment Intention has a significant positive effect on Investment Decisions and acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, and Agreeableness on Investment Decisions, but does not mediate the effect of Neuroticism.

Abstract

This study aims to examine market reactions to rights issue announcements among conventional banking companies by assessing changes in abnormal returns, trading volume activity, and stock return volatility before and after the announcements. A quantitative event study design was employed using secondary data from 26 conventional banking issuers that announced rights issues during 2020–2024. An 11-trading-day event window, covering five days before and five days after the announcement date, was applied. Market reactions were measured using abnormal return, trading volume activity, and stock return volatility. Because the data did not satisfy the normality assumption, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was used to examine differences between the pre- and post-announcement periods. The findings indicate significant differences in abnormal return, trading volume activity, and stock return volatility following rights issue announcements. The results demonstrate that rights issue information generates measurable changes in investor responses, reflected in changes in returns, trading intensity, and stock price fluctuations. The findings provide practical insights for investors in evaluating rights issue announcements as relevant information for investment decisions. The study also contributes to the literature by integrating return, trading activity, and volatility indicators within an event-study framework.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of Gen-Z investment intention by integrating financial capacity, risk perception, self-efficacy, and peer influence, while investigating the moderating role of financial literacy. It also highlights the educational management dimension by considering how financial education and learning management can support informed investment decision-making among young adults. Method: A quantitative expl anatory design was employed using survey data from 404 Gen-Z respondents aged 20–29 years. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), including outer-model, inner-model, moderating-effect, and Multi-Group Analysis (MGA) procedures. Results: Financial capacity, risk perception, self-efficacy, and peer influence significantly influence investment intention. The model explains 78.1% of the variance in investment intention. Financial literacy significantly strengthens the relationship between financial capacity and investment intention but does not significantly moderate the relationships involving risk perception, self-efficacy, and peer influence. Implications: The findings suggest that financial education should be managed beyond knowledge transmission by integrating financial capability, cognitive confidence, risk awareness, and social learning. Educational management can therefore play a strategic role in developing more objective, adaptive, and responsible investment decision-making among Gen-Z.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of financial literacy, impulsivity, and lifestyle on Generation Z’s decision to use Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), as well as to investigate the moderating role of social media in these relationships. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using an online survey of 300 Generation Z respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that impulsivity and lifestyle have positive and significant effects on BNPL usage decisions, whereas financial literacy has no significant effect. Social media does not significantly moderate the relationships between any of the independent variables and BNPL usage decisions. The model yielded an R-square value of 0.069, indicating that the variables explain 6.9% of the variance in BNPL usage decisions, while 93.1% is explained by other factors outside the model. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening self-control and responsible financial behavior through targeted financial education to promote more prudent use of digital credit facilities.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the effect of Corporate Social Performance (CSP) on firm value and to investigate whether foreign ownership moderates the relationship between CSP and firm value among companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2020 to 2024. Method: This study employed panel data from 120 purposively selected firms, resulting in 600 firm year observations. The data were analyzed using a Fixed Effects Model, which was determined through the Chow test, the Hausman test, and the Lagrange Multiplier test. CSP was measured using a nineteen item social disclosure index based on the Global Reporting Initiative framework, firm value was measured using Tobin's Q ratio, and foreign ownership was measured as a dichotomous variable reflecting shareholding above five percent. Finding: The results indicate that CSP has a positive and significant effect on firm value, which is consistent with the predictions of stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory, and agency theory. Foreign ownership does not significantly moderate the relationship between CSP and firm value, although it shows a direct and positive association with firm value on its own. Novelty: This study offers novelty by positioning foreign ownership as a moderating variable rather than merely a control variable in the relationship between CSP and firm value within the context of the Indonesian capital market, while also providing practical implications for regulators to strengthen internal governance mechanisms so that foreign ownership can function more effectively as a monitoring device.

Abstract

This study examines the relationships between village apparatus competence, accountability, and transparency and the effectiveness of village fund management, as well as the moderating role of community participation. The study was conducted in Parit Baru, Serdam, and Kuala Dua Villages, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency. A quantitative causal-associative survey design was employed, involving 350 community respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that village apparatus competence, accountability, and transparency have positive and significant relationships with the effectiveness of village fund management. Among these factors, accountability has the strongest direct relationship with management effectiveness. Community participation also positively and significantly moderates the relationships between each of the three governance factors and village fund management effectiveness. The structural model explains 63.7% of the variance in village fund management effectiveness and demonstrates satisfactory predictive relevance and empirical fit. These findings show that effective village fund management depends not only on competent apparatus, accountable administration, and transparent information but also on meaningful community involvement in planning, implementation, and oversight. Therefore, village governments should strengthen participatory governance mechanisms to improve the effectiveness and public accountability of village fund management.
