Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of Customer Service (CS) at KCP Bank Sumut Syariah and its impact on customer satisfaction levels. In this study, the author uses a quantitative approach with a survey method to collect data from respondents consisting of KCP Bank Sumut Syariah customers. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques to see the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction. The results of the study indicate that the quality of Customer Service at Bank Sumut Syariah plays a significant role in increasing customer satisfaction. The three main aspects that influence are speed of service, friendliness of CS, and accuracy in providing information. Although most customers expressed satisfaction with the services provided, there were still some complaints about the response time which was considered slow and the unclear information provided in some cases. Therefore, efforts to improve service quality such as routine training and utilization of information technology are needed to minimize the gap between expectations and reality felt by customers. The conclusion that can be drawn is that optimal Customer Service quality can increase customer satisfaction and build long-term loyalty. For that, Bank Sumut Syariah needs to continue to make improvements and innovations in service, both in terms of improving the quality of human resources through training and utilizing technology to speed up the service process. Strengthening an organizational culture that is oriented towards customer satisfaction is also very important to support continuous improvement in service quality.

Abstract

Oil palm plantations are a strategic sector in economic development in North Sumatra, Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the economic and ecological impacts of oil palm plantation expansion and evaluate the balance between benefits and disadvantages caused. The descriptive qualitative method is used by utilizing secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency, environmental organization reports, and academic studies. The results show that the expansion of oil palm plantations makes a significant contribution to increasing regional income and job creation. However, land expansion without sustainable management leads to deforestation, loss of biodiversity, deterioration of the quality of water resources, and microclimate and local weather changes. To overcome these challenges, sustainable management policies that integrate agroforestry principles and strict supervision are needed to maintain a balance between economic development and environmental conservation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of coastal natural resources of Pantai Bali Lestari in supporting sustainable tourism development in Serdang Bedagai Regency. Pantai Bali Lestari is a real example of tourism destination management based on local wisdom and cultural commodification, especially Balinese culture, to attract tourists. Various facilities and infrastructure such as photo spots, restaurants, lodging, and adaptation of Balinese architecture make this beach a leading destination. However, coastal area management also faces challenges, both from environmental, social, and economic aspects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through field observations, documentation, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that synergy between the government, tourism managers, and the surrounding community is very important in ensuring the sustainability of coastal areas as productive and environmentally friendly tourism assets.

Abstract

Environmental issues, particularly waste management, have become critical problems that demand attention from all societal levels, including university students as agents of change. This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental knowledge and word of mouth on environmental attitudes and the purchase intention of eco-friendly products among students. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, using semi-structured interviews with five students from various study programs at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). The findings indicate that students possess a good understanding of eco-friendly products and have begun incorporating them into their daily lives, despite challenges such as higher prices, limited access, and insufficient education. Factors such as social media, personal experiences, and the influence of campus figures play a significant role in shaping their purchase intentions. Most respondents also expressed a willingness to pay more for products that offer long-term quality and positive environmental impact. This study highlights the importance of institutional support in fostering sustainable lifestyles through facilities and programs that encourage environmentally responsible consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of Self Efficacy, Internal Communication, and Innovative Work Behavior on Employee Performance of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of North Sumatra Province. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 66 planning section employees. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and questionnaires using a Likert scale. Data analysis includes validity, reliability, classical assumption, and multiple linear regression tests. Hypothesis testing was carried out with the t test, F test, and coefficient of determination (R²), using the help of IBM SPSS 26 software. The results showed that partially, Self Efficacy (X1), Internal Communication (X2), and Innovative Work Behavior (X3) had a significant effect on Employee Performance (Y). With the t-test Self Efficacy (X1) obtained a t-count value of 6.943 > t-table of 1.669, Internal Communication (X2) obtained a t-count value of 4.532 > t-table of 1.669, and Innovative Work Behavior (X3) obtained a t-count value of 3.401 > t-table of 1.669. The F test shows the F-count value of 28.202 > Ftable 2.75 with a significance of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 57.7% of the Employee Performance variable can be explained by the Self Efficacy, Internal Communication, and Innovative Work Behavior variables while the remaining 42.3% is explained by other variables outside the variables studied.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of job insecurity, job characteristics, and work culture on employee performance at CV. Jaya Perkasa Abadi Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang Regency. The research uses a quantitative approach with a population of 300 employees, from which a sample of 75 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula and stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 27. The results show that, partially, job insecurity and job characteristics have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, as indicated by t- values greater than the t-table and significance values less than 0.05. In contrast, work culture does not have a positive or significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, job insecurity, job characteristics, and work culture have a significant effect on employee performance, with an adjusted coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.910, indicating that 91% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by these three variables, while the remaining 9% is explained by other factors outside the scope of this research. These findings highlight the importance of job design and job security in improving employee performance, while also suggesting that organizational efforts to enhance performance should not rely solely on work culture but also consider other motivating and structural factors. The study provides valuable insights for managers and policymakers in optimizing human resource potential to achieve organizational goals.
