Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using educational games as a learning tool in the subject of moral creed at MTs. Al-Jam'iyatul Washliyah Medan. Educational games are expected to be a more interesting alternative for students than conventional and monotonous methods. To achieve this goal, the research used a qualitative descriptive method based on the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, which consists of four main stages: data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing or data verification. The data validity technique applied is triangulation, which is a verification process by combining various sources of information, methods, and perspectives to ensure that the data obtained has high validity and reliability. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers and students, and learning documentation. The results showed that using educational games in learning akidah akhlak proved to be quite effective in increasing students' learning motivation. Educational games provide a fun and interactive experience, so students are more excited and interested in learning the material of moral creed. In addition, this study also found that this approach can increase students' active involvement in the learning process and help them understand the concepts of moral creed in a more practical and applicable way.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ sense of respect toward teachers at SMPS Dewantara, Langkat. In the context of character education, respect is not merely understood as a form of politeness but as a fundamental moral value rooted in Islamic teachings. This research is motivated by the observed decline in students’ respectful attitudes, as reflected in daily behaviors such as a lack of courtesy and low levels of obedience toward teachers. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consist of PAI teachers and students. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that PAI teachers play a highly strategic role in instilling respectful attitudes in students, particularly through exemplary behavior, the habituation of positive conduct, the integration of religious values into the learning process, and emotional approaches that build close relationships with students. Students’ respect is demonstrated through behaviors such as greeting teachers, listening attentively, using polite language, and complying with school regulations. This study concludes that fostering respect requires the active involvement of teachers as well as support from a conducive school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using interactive multimedia learning media on students’ understanding of fiqh material among eighth-grade students at MTsN 1 Medan. The background of this research is based on the low level of students’ learning interest and understanding of fiqh subjects, which is caused by the use of conventional teaching methods that are less engaging and monotonous. Therefore, innovation in learning media is needed to increase student involvement and understanding. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. The study involved two groups: an experimental group that was taught using interactive multimedia and a control group that was taught using conventional learning methods. Research instruments included achievement tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets to measure students’ understanding and responses to the learning process. The results of the instrument validity test showed that 17 out of 20 test items were valid, with a high level of reliability indicated by a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.930. Prerequisite tests, including normality, linearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, demonstrated that the data met the requirements for linear regression analysis. The regression analysis produced the equation Y = 17.002 + 0.604X, with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a calculated t-value greater than the t-table value, indicating that interactive multimedia learning media have a positive and significant effect on students’ understanding of fiqh material.

The findings indicate that differentiated learning in the independent curriculum for Islamic Religious Education at SD Negeri 106190 Kota Pari Pantai Cermin has been implemented successfully in accordance with the steps of differentiated learning. Firstly, teachers conducted Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Diagnostic Assessments to determine the readiness for learning as well as the interests, talents, and learning styles of each student. Secondly, teachers designed teaching modules tailored to the initial assessment results. Thirdly, teachers implemented differentiated teaching strategies through content, process, and product differentiation. Fourthly, teachers evaluated and reflected on the learning process. Through this differentiated learning approach, students become more active, creative, and innovative, finding learning more enjoyable. This helps to increase students' interest in learning, particularly in Islamic Religious Education, and assists them in becoming independent learners who appreciate diversity.
