Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using interactive multimedia learning media on students’ understanding of fiqh material among eighth-grade students at MTsN 1 Medan. The background of this research is based on the low level of students’ learning interest and understanding of fiqh subjects, which is caused by the use of conventional teaching methods that are less engaging and monotonous. Therefore, innovation in learning media is needed to increase student involvement and understanding. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. The study involved two groups: an experimental group that was taught using interactive multimedia and a control group that was taught using conventional learning methods. Research instruments included achievement tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets to measure students’ understanding and responses to the learning process. The results of the instrument validity test showed that 17 out of 20 test items were valid, with a high level of reliability indicated by a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.930. Prerequisite tests, including normality, linearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, demonstrated that the data met the requirements for linear regression analysis. The regression analysis produced the equation Y = 17.002 + 0.604X, with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a calculated t-value greater than the t-table value, indicating that interactive multimedia learning media have a positive and significant effect on students’ understanding of fiqh material.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the process of designing instructional materials, implementing differentiated teaching strategies, and assessment in Islamic Religious Education. The study falls under the category of qualitative field research, focusing on investigating and describing the conditions or phenomena that occur in the field without manipulating variables. In this context, a descriptive approach is used to illustrate the processes of differentiated learning in the subject of Islamic Religious Education. The research was conducted during the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year in February 2024. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved data collection, reduction, display, and drawing/verifying conclusions. The findings indicate that differentiated learning in the independent curriculum for Islamic Religious Education at SD Negeri 106190 Kota Pari Pantai Cermin has been implemented successfully in accordance with the steps of differentiated learning. Firstly, teachers conducted Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Diagnostic Assessments to determine the readiness for learning as well as the interests, talents, and learning styles of each student. Secondly, teachers designed teaching modules tailored to the initial assessment results. Thirdly, teachers implemented differentiated teaching strategies through content, process, and product differentiation. Fourthly, teachers evaluated and reflected on the learning process. Through this differentiated learning approach, students become more active, creative, and innovative, finding learning more enjoyable. This helps to increase students' interest in learning, particularly in Islamic Religious Education, and assists them in becoming independent learners who appreciate diversity.

The focus of the study includes the implementation of the teachers’ educational role, the methods used to integrate Islamic values into daily learning activities, the factors influencing effectiveness, and the challenges faced along with the strategies applied to overcome them. This research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore teachers’ lived experiences in the process of value internalization. The research subjects consisted of teachers as the main informants and students aged 4–6 years as participants. Participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation were used to gather data. The Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, was used to analyze the data. Triangulation of sources, triangulation of techniques, and extended engagement were used to guarantee the authenticity of the data. The findings indicate that Islamic values were integrated into daily habituation activities such as prayer practices, teacher role modeling, discipline, responsibility, social interaction, and Islamic-themed educational games. Continuous habituation and positive reinforcement effectively shaped students’ religious character despite challenges related to diverse student characteristics, limited instructional time, and limited school–family continuity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the storytelling method in instilling Islamic values in students at Tadika Suria Perdana. The storytelling method was chosen because storytelling activities are considered capable of attracting children's attention and helping them understand the moral messages conveyed. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation conducted directly at the research location. The data analysis technique was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the validity of the data was tested through technique triangulation and source triangulation. The results of the study show that storytelling activities are carried out by delivering Islamic stories, such as stories of the prophets and exemplary figures in Islam. Through these stories, teachers instill Islamic values in children such as honesty, responsibility, patience, obedience, and religious attitudes. In addition, storytelling activities also help improve children's learning interest, listening skills, and imagination. The learning process delivered through stories makes it easier for students to understand moral messages and apply them in their daily lives. Therefore, the storytelling method can be one of the effective ways for teachers to instill Islamic values in early childhood.
