Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of the RADEC learning model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) on improving students’ critical thinking skills in static fluid material at SMAN 5 Sarolangun. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was employed. The subjects consisted of an experimental class taught using the RADEC model and a control class taught using conventional learning. The instruments included an essay test of critical thinking skills based on Ennis’ indicators, observation sheets, and a student response questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test, N-Gain analysis, and effect size analysis. The results indicated that students in the experimental class achieved higher critical thinking skills than those in the control class. The N-Gain value of the experimental class was in the moderate category and higher than that of the control class, with an effect size of 0.82, indicating a large effect. In addition, students’ responses to the RADEC learning model were positive, with an average score of 73.96 in the good category. It can be concluded that the RADEC learning model has a positive and significant effect on improving students’ critical thinking skills in static fluid material at SMAN 5 Sarolangun.

Abstract

The execution of inclusive education in Indonesia continues to encounter obstacles, particularly concerning limited human resources, complex bureaucracy and public awareness. This research investigates the effects of inclusive education policy implementation via the Technical Implementation Unit for Disability Services in Education and Resource Center (ULD) of Yogyakarta City, which is a pioneering local institution in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, data were gathered through interviews with key ULD officials, document analysis, and questionnaires distributed to special assistant teachers. The results reveal that the ULD has produced sustained positive effects across various stakeholders. At the community level, heightened public awareness has fostered greater acceptance of children with disabilities and improved access to formal education through affirmative pathways. At the school and teacher levels, the ULD has bolstered institutional capacity by increasing the number of special assistant teachers and enhancing teachers’ competencies through ongoing training. At the student level, inclusive practices have facilitated positive academic, social, and emotional development among students with disabilities. This research adds to the body of literature on inclusive education policy implementation by illustrating the strategic role of local technical institutions in connecting national policy frameworks with inclusive practices at the school level.

Abstract

Abstract: Recognizing individual diversity is essential for supporting children's learning, particularly in language skills. A differentiated learning approach that aligns with children's learning styles can significantly enhance the effectiveness of language acquisition by addressing specific needs and characteristics. The research method utilized a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects were five fifth-grade students during the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques included document analysis, observation, and interviews. Data was analyzed using the linear approach data analysis technique (John W. Creswell model). The primary objectives of this qualitative case study were to: 1) determine children's language learning style profiles, 2) identify effective ways to teach language skills based on these styles, and 3) measure the impact of differentiated learning, tailored to learning styles, on improving language proficiency. The study identified distinct student characteristics: visual learners relied on sight and preferred neatness; auditory learners depended on hearing and preferred listening; kinesthetic learners were physically active and enjoyed direct practice; interpersonal learners thrived in group settings; and intrapersonal learners preferred independent study. The results affirm that teachers can effectively apply differentiated learning to facilitating the language learning process for all students.

Abstract

Musyarakah and Mudharabah contracts are the primary instruments in the Islamic financial system, implementing the profit and loss sharing principle as an alternative to interest-based financing. However, the implementation of risk-sharing responsibilities in these contracts continues to face various challenges in Islamic financial institutions. This study aims to analyze the allocation of risk responsibility in Musyarakah and Mudharabah contracts and compare their implementation from the perspective of Islamic economic law. The study employed a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through documentation studies of the Qur'an, Hadith, DSN-MUI Fatwas, the Compilation of Sharia Economic Law (KHES), books, and relevant scientific journals, and were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The findings indicate that, in Musyarakah, losses are borne by the partners in proportion to their respective capital contributions, whereas in Mudharabah, financial losses are borne by the capital owner unless they result from the negligence of the mudharib. This distinction reflects the principle of justice in Islamic economic law. Nevertheless, its implementation still faces challenges, including moral hazard, lack of transparency, and risk transfer practices. Therefore, strengthening the implementation of the risk-sharing principle in accordance with Sharia principles is essential.
