Abstract

The research in this final project discusses the economic calculation of electrical energy consumption in a 220 VAC system at a residential load on a type 54 house. The simulation of the AC system is carried out with ETAP 12.6 software. Simulation is done by making installations with residential loads with cables that have a length according to the distance to the loads. From the ETAP simulation, it can be seen the current and line resistance values on the report manager display so that the losses and efficiency of the two systems can also be known. Based on the results of simulations and calculations, the total value of the losses that occur in the 220 VAC system is so small that it looks like 0 watts, this happens because the simulation results are shown in kWatt in the ETAP.

Abstract

The decreasing availability of fossil fuels and their contribution to environmental degradation and emissions of harmful gases has encouraged a shift to renewable energy sources. This change aims to produce electricity without using fossil fuels. Banyak Islands, a new tourist destination in Aceh Singkil, Indonesia, is experiencing an increase in visitors, increasing electricity demand currently supplied by diesel power plants. Therefore, this research aims to examine the possibilities of wind and solar power plants and assess their energy output. The four factors used to determine the potential of renewable energy are technology, economics, environment, and social politics, with 13 sub-criteria. Analytical hierarchy process techniques prioritize potential alternative energy sources such as wind and solar power facilities. Research findings show that environmental criteria have a higher value (0.3455) than financial criteria (0.2861), next is technological criteria (0.1734), then socio-political criteria (0.1603). Based on the results of the requirements and sub-requirements, wind power generation is the most effective and efficient alternative energy used in the Banyak Islands region (0.549), followed by solar power generation (0.451). This data shows that the area is prone to medium to high wind speeds, specifically in geographic locations facing the Indian Ocean which is located offshore.

Abstract

Fuzzy logic is a logic that has values of fuzziness or ambiguity between true and false. Values in fuzzy logic typically range from 0 to 1. The theory of fuzzy logic is widely used for control systems in various fields. An automatic flower irrigation system is an automated watering device that can be operated with fuzzy logic. In this research, there are two main parameters: temperature and humidity. For the temperature parameter, five linguistic variables are used: cold, cool, normal, warm, and hot. Meanwhile, for soil moisture, three linguistic variables are used: dry, moist, and wet. The results of this research are the maximum setting points obtained according to the rules that have been defined. In this study, the maximum setting point is achieved with a high temperature and low humidity. The difference in output between the Mamdani and Sugeno methods is not very significant. The Mamdani method produces real number values, while the Sugeno method produces integer values. This difference is due to several factors, one of which is the difference in the use of formulas in the defuzzification process of each method.

Abstract

Solar energy is an alternative energy that is abundant, renewable, and does not produce greenhouse gas emissions, so it has the potential to be developed into energy to replace fossil energy as a source of electricity generation. The main technology in the utilization of solar energy is solar panels, solar panels consist of solar cells made of semiconductor materials, such as silicon. These solar cells convert photon energy from sunlight into electrical energy through the photovoltaic effect. Changes in the temperature of solar cells are affected by the ambient temperature, clouds, and wind speed where the solar panel is placed. Very high air temperatures can affect the performance of solar panels where the optimal temperature of solar panels is 25°C, any increase in ambient temperature can reduce the output power and also the output voltage on solar panels. This research focuses on analyzing a solar panel cooling system that combines the use of solid salt hydrate and heatsinks. Solid salt hydrate has the ability to absorb heat as it melts, making it an effective cooling material. Meanwhile, the heatsink plays a role in enhancing heat transfer from the solar panel to the surrounding environment. The combination of solid salt hydrate and heatsink is expected to provide a solar panel cooling solution that is not only effective and efficient, but also environmentally friendly. By using these two components, this research is expected to contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable solar panel technology. In addition, the results of this research also aim to provide optimal solar panel cooling system design recommendations for various environmental conditions, so as to improve the performance and longevity of solar panels002E
