Abstract

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is an effort to improve coronary artery blood flow by destroying the plaque or atheroma which buried and disturbed the blood flow to the heart. Self Efficacy aims to improve patient’s expectation and quality of life. The  aim of this research is to identify self efficacy patient with Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) after having percutaneous coronary intervention. Descriptive study with cross sectional approach was used with 35 patient selected on inclusion criteria using purpossive sampling technique. Data were collected using cardiac self efficacy (CSE) questionnaire. Univariate analysis was used to describe characteristics of the patient and self efficacy using frequency distribution and percentage. Finding of this study show that the pasient have a good self efficacy for both subscale, with 28 patient (80%) in controlling symptoms and 20 patient (57%) at maintain function. Self efficacy can build patient’s confidence to keep and hold their health behavior to increase quality of life.Keywords: CHD, CSE, PCI, Self Efficacy

Abstract

Nausea and vomiting are side effects of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, and one of the ways to reducenausea and vomiting is by giving hypnotherapy. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of hypnotherapyin decreasing nausea and vomiting by using the research designs; quasy experiment and one group pretest-postestdesign . There were 15 people taken as the samples of this research. They were taken based on the inclusion criteriausing purposive sampling technique. The measuring tool used in this research was Rhodes Index Nausea Vomiting(RINV) which has a scale of 0-5. The analyses used were univariate and bivariate analysis with Wilcoxon test. Based onthe results of the data analysis, it could be seen that there was a difference of nausea and vomiting scale before andafter hypnotherapy was given with p value (0.001) < α = 0.05, and there was a decrease in the scale of nausea andvomiting by 4.6. Therefore, it could be concluded that hypnotherapy is effective in decreasing the intensity of nauseaand vomiting of cancer patients. The result of the study is recommended to be used as a non-pharmacologicalintervention in hospitals.Keywords: Cancer, Chemotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Nausea and Vomiting

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of sleep of school aged children against theoccurrence of wasting in school aged children. This study is a cross sectional study conducted in August until January2018. Samples are selected in SD Negeri 167 Pekanbaru using proportional stratify random sampling technique inwhich of 311 students of grade 4 and 5 were randomly selected using dice or lot and refers to number absent and got 89samples. Performed weight and height measurements to determine the wasting and filling questionnaires modified bythe PSQI researchers to determine the quality of sleeping school-age children. The results of the study showed that 9year old subjects were 9% 10 years old were 53.9% 11 years old were 29.2%, 12 years old were 6.7% and 13 years oldwere 1%. The subjects 42 male students and 71 female students and the most common body mass index category was79.8%, skinny as much as 15.7% and thin (4.5%). Students who have good sleep quality as 61 people (68.5%) and whohave poor sleep quality as 28 people (31.5%). The result of chi-square test showed no correlation between schoolquality of schoolchildren child to school wage at p = 1,000 (p> 0,05). Conclusion: There is no correlation betweenschool quality of schoolchild child to wasting in school age children.Keywords: school age children, sleep quality, wasting.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning approach that stimulates learners to study in groups in searching forsolutions from real-world problems.This study aims to know the discription of learning approach and perception aboutProblem Based Learning (PBL) of PSIK UR students with a descriptive research design using the simple randomsampling technique. This research involved 88 students of PSIK UR. The measuring tool used were the Study ProcessQuestionnaire (SPQ) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) perceptions that have been tested for the validity andreliability. The data analysis used was univariate data analysis with the result; there were 40 students (45,9%) usingdeep approach , 25 students (28,4%) using achieving approach, 22 students (25%) using surface approach, and relatedto the perception of Problem Based Learning (PBL ) it was found that 54 students (61,4%) had negative perception, and34 students (38,6%) had positive perception. Based on this research, the students are expected to be able to makechanges in deep learning approach, and finally they are able to increase their learning motivation so that they are ableto improve their learning achievement and critical thinking in solving problems through good ways.Keywords: Learning Approach, Perception, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Student

Abstract

School age is a period of physical characteristic of the eye get mature. Earlier eye examination is very important to detect any vision impairment. The purpose of this study is to know the eye healthiness of the children in school age. This is a descriptive research with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study is 50 respondents, based on inclusive criteria in the area of Pekanbaru City using accidental sampling technique. This study is measured using Portable Eye Examination Kit (PEEK) Acuity to measure the vision acuity. The analysis of the study was presented with a table frequency distribution with cross tabulation. Obtained 26 respondents (52%) with impaired vision acuity, the highest is in the 8-10 years age category of 16 people (55.2%) and in the female category there were 10 people (58.8%). School age children who experience more visual impairment. Researcher suggest to do more frequent and thorough screening to children in school age, specifically in Pekanbaru. Abstract

Elderly are very susceptible of diseases caused by the aging process which results in a decrease, organ function that affects the mental and psychosocial conditions. This research aimed to determine correlation between the activity of daily living (ADL) with quality of sleep in the elderly. This research descriptive correlation cross sectional design. This research was conducted in PSTW Khusnul Khotimah of Pekanbaru involving 49 respondents. The sampling method was simple purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire of the Index Barthel and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) both of which are already standardized. The analysis used was univariate and bivariate by Fisher Exact Test. The result analysis univariate showed that the majority of respondents are in the category of elderly (60-74 years) (63.3%). 28 respondents were female (42.9%), and 36 respondents had elementary education (73.5%). The results of this study indicate that there a relationship between activity of daily living (ADL) with sleep quality in elderly p value (0.037 < α 0.05).Keywords: Activity of daily living (ADL), Elderly, Sleep quality

Abstract

Contact dermatitis is a skin inflammation resulting from contact with exposure, which is toxis or allergic and cause itching, redness, bulge filled the water and swollen. This research aimed to determine correlation of health and safety knowledge to waste transportation officer to the risk of contact dermatitis. This research descriptive correlation cross sectional design. This research was conducted in Workshop Agency of Environment and Sanitation of Pekanbaru involving 62 respondents. The sampling method was simple random sampling. Measuring instrument used was a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used were univariate and bivariate by kolmogorov-smirnov. The result analysis univariate showed that the majority of respondents are in the category of middle adult (54,8%), 29 respondents had junior high education (46,8%), 28 respondents got the information from television (45,2%), 62 respondents has worked more than one year (100%), and 59 respondents had skin problem (95,2%). The result of this research showed that there was no significant correlation between the health and safety knowledge for waste transportation officer to the risk of contact dermatitis p value= 0,821. It is recomended that the Health Agency in providing counseling for waste transportation officer to take care of personal hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment while doing their job avoid being affected by illness which can be caused by garbage.Keywords: Contact dermatitis, health and safety, knowledge

Abstract

One of the efforts that can be done to reduce the infant mortality rate is by giving breast milk exclusively. Exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk that is given to babies, without adding and / or replacing with other food or drinks (except drugs, vitamins, and minerals). Children who are not sufficiently breastfed will be disrupted in their growth and development process and will be more prone to experiencing health problems in the future. The low rate of exclusive breastfeeding for infants is caused by problems in the mother. This study aims to analyze the description of problems in breastfeeding Palmatak Health Center with a descriptive research design with cross sectional approach. The sample of this research was 67 respondents taken using total sampling technique. The results showed the majority of research subjects were mothers aged 26-35 years (67.2%), the latest education was mothers of universities (35.8%), occupations of IRT mothers (55.2%),Malay ethnic (91.0%), gender of male respondents (59.7%), babies over 6 months (50.7%). The results of this study also show that the majority of mothers experience breast milk problems (65.7%). Breastfeeding problems are most common when babies are 0-4 months old (56.7%). It is expected that the primary health center can be made a reference for counseling material on breastfeeding problems for mothers.Keywords: breastfeeding, mother, problems

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is the 9th cause of death in the world. The family plays a role in caring for sick familymembers, the individuals in the family make the family as hope, get information and help get treatment. Thepurpose of this research to determine the relationship between family support fo r the pulmonary tuberculosispatient and self-concept. This research used descriptive correlation design with cross sectional method.Sample of this reaserch are 49 respondents drawn based on inclusion criteria. This research using purposivesampling techniques. Data was collected by using questionnaire of family suppor and self -concept. Dataanalysis is done by univariat and bivariat analyze with chi suare test. The results shows the majority are late asmany as 31 people (63,3%), the majority of respondents are male as many as 36 people (73.5%), the majorityof respondents are wiraswasta status as 28 (57,1%) with the majority of last education is senior hight school asmany as 25 people (51.0%), based on responden characteristic the majority of respondent s have tuberculosisless then 6 month as 33 people (67,3%). The majority of respondents who have hight family support amountedto 30 (61,2.9%) and the majority of respondents who have positive self -concept as many as 27 people (55,1%).Result of this research show that there is relationship between family supoort and self -concept with p value(0.003) < α (0.05). The results of this research recommends that families can be a support system to providemotivation and encouragement that as to facilitate and provide information on the treatment about drugcompliance to tuberculosis patien’s.Keywords: Celf-concept, Family support, Tuberculosis

Abstract

Kentang hitam [Plectranthus rotundifolius (Poiret) Sprengel] of family Lamiaceae is a minor root crop known only for people living in some parts of Java, Bali and Madura. It was rarely found in its natural habitat, thus it was assumed to have low level of genetic diversity. This present study aimed to assess genetic diversity of 63 accessions of kentang hitam from provenances of Java based on Inter Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR) and Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fingerprints. Ten primers of ISSR and RAPD were initially screened and eight were selected for the analysis. These eight primers (OPA13, OPB10, OPB13, OPD8, OPN14, UBC 807, 834 and 835) generated 61 bands with an average of 7.63 polymorphic fragment per primer. Percentage of polymorphism ranged from 8.20% (UBC 807 and 834) to 16.39% (OPB 10) with an average of 12.50%polymorphism.Clustering analysis was performed based on ISSR and RAPD profiles using the neighbour joining method and Principle Coordinate Analysis (PCO). The range of genetic similarity among accessions was 51-100% to which most of the accessions were clustered with more than 80% similarity. This confirmed our hypothesis of the low level of variation existed among accessions.
