Guided by the Research and Development (R&D) process, the study focuses on two primary objectives: (1) elucidating the intricacies of developing STEAM-based video learning media for Early Childhood Education, incorporating Religious and Moral Values, and (2) evaluating the appropriateness and effectiveness of such media in the educational context. Adopting the ADDIE development model, the research encompasses five pivotal stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The validation process for the developed product entails collaboration with media, material, and design experts, complemented by feedback from colleagues. One-to-one tests, Small Group Tests, and Field Test methods are employed to assess the effectiveness of the media. Validation results from these experts affirm that the developed media aligns seamlessly with the criteria for successful application in educational settings. During the product implementation phase involving 15 students, it became evident that this development was an effective learning tool. The post-test scores surpassing the pre-test scores indicate the product's efficacy in enhancing the understanding of morning phenomena, instilling religious and moral values, and fostering STEAM creativity in early childhood education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of a systematic literature review (SLR) concerning the integration of ethnomathematics-based Augmented Reality (AR) in geometry learning, particularly focusing on cube and cuboid concepts. This approach reviews the effectiveness of combining local cultural contexts with digital technology to enhance students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics. Literature was collected using the Publish or Perish tool from Scopus and Sinta databases and evaluated following the PRISMA guidelines to ensure relevance and eligibility. From 200 identified articles, 20 studies met the inclusion criteria and were further analyzed. The findings reveal that AR significantly improves students’ spatial visualization, understanding of volume and surface area, and learning motivation. Meanwhile, ethnomathematics serves as a contextual medium linking mathematical concepts to local culture, making learning more meaningful and character-building. The integration of both approaches fosters interactive, contextual, and culturally relevant learning while introducing the concept of symmetry groups through cultural exploration and digital visualization. The study recommends the development of an AR-ethnomathematics-based learning model that explicitly integrates symmetry group concepts to deepen students’ geometric understanding and strengthen cultural values in mathematics education

Abstract

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills are an essential competency in 21st century mathematics learning. Traditional approaches, which are generally abstract and lack context, are often a barrier to their development. This study aims to systematically examine various studies related to mathematical communication in traditional game-based mathematics learning in the cultural context of the archipelago. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with PRISMA guidelines, as many as 15 articles published in 2020–2025 obtained from the selection of Google Scholar, ERIC, and Dimensions databases. The results of the study analysis showed that traditional games such as engklek, congklak, and marbles were most often used in learning and were proven to be effective in improving students' mathematical communication both verbally and in writing. This approach also contributes to increased learning motivation, concept understanding, and character building. These findings support the relevance of ethnomathematical approaches that link mathematics to local cultural practices. It was also found that learning mathematics that integrates traditional games not only strengthens academic competence, but also fosters an appreciation of contextual and meaningful local wisdom for Indonesian students.
