Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum in the Arabic Language Education Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The MBKM policy, introduced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, aims to strengthen graduate employability and institutional adaptability in the digital era. A qualitative case study design was employed. Participants were selected using purposive sampling targeting key academic stakeholders, followed by snowball sampling to identify additional informants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal five core implementation strategies: leadership commitment, stakeholder engagement, MBKM-oriented curriculum redesign, external partnerships, and internal quality assurance. The process unfolded in three phases: planning, execution, and monitoring. The study demonstrates that coherent governance and collaborative networks are critical enablers of MBKM adoption. These findings provide practical insights for Islamic higher education institutions implementing reforms based on outcome-based and experiential learning.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) program in vocational high schools (SMK) in Sleman Regency using the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The research employed a descriptive-evaluative approach with 175 student respondents, supported by teacher input and school documents. Findings show that the curriculum has been aligned with industry needs through synchronization with partners, though limited facilities, regulations, and accessibility remain obstacles. Teachers are relatively well-prepared, most having completed industrial internships, and industry partners provide positive responses, yet disparities in infrastructure between schools are evident. The process is carried out through project-based learning with cross-major collaboration, offering realistic experiences but constrained by insufficient resources and non-standardized evaluation. In terms of outcomes, students generally display high motivation, discipline, responsibility, and technical skills, though independence and innovation remain weak. Overall, TeFa in Sleman has been on the right track to realize link and match between vocational education and industry, but improvements in facilities, evaluation standards, and innovation culture are still required Keywords: Teaching Factory, CIPP evaluation, vocational education, link and matc

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of students’ low mathematical literacy, particularly in relation to problem-solving strategies and creativity in solving contextual mathematical tasks. The research aims to describe students’ problem-solving strategies and creativity based on their levels of mathematical ability in solving mathematical literacy problems. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving six seventh-grade junior high school students selected through purposive sampling and categorized into high, intermediate, and low mathematical ability groups. Data were collected through mathematical literacy tests and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using indicators of creativity (fluency, flexibility, and novelty) and problem-solving strategies. The findings reveal that high-ability students fulfilled all three creativity indicators by applying varied, appropriate, and original strategies. Intermediate-ability students generally achieved two indicators, mainly fluency and flexibility or fluency and novelty, but showed limitations in consistently demonstrating all aspects of creativity. In contrast, low-ability students struggled to understand contextual problems, selected inappropriate strategies, and did not meet any of the creativity indicators. The discussion highlights that mathematical ability strongly influences students’ strategic behavior and creative performance in solving literacy-based problems. In conclusion, students’ problem-solving strategies and creativity are proportional to their mathematical ability levels. Therefore, instructional practices that explicitly promote diverse strategies and creative thinking are essential to enhance students’ mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines how metacognitive reasoning, organizational support, and socioeconomic status shape academic performance through the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in an artificial intelligence (AI) integrated learning environment. Design – A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed. Data from 373 university students were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate relationships among the constructs. Findings – Metacognitive reasoning and organizational support significantly increased intrinsic motivation, which in turn positively affected academic performance. By contrast, socioeconomic status did not significantly influence intrinsic motivation or academic performance. Research implications – The results underscore the importance of cognitive and contextual supports in fostering student motivation and achievement. The nonsignificant effects of socioeconomic status warrant further investigation; future studies should explore additional individual and environmental factors that may shape academic outcomes in AI-enabled learning settings. Originality –  This research advances an inclusive and effective framework for digital learning in higher education by demonstrating the central role of metacognitive skills and institutional support in designing AI-enhanced strategies that cultivate students intrinsic motivation and academic success.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using snakes and ladders media in algebraic mathematics learning to improve motivation and learning outcomes of class VII students at SMP Negeri 6 Sorong City. The problem raised in this study is the low learning motivation and learning outcomes of students in algebra material due to less interactive learning methods. This study uses a mix method approach with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were 29 class VII students. The instruments used included observation of learning implementation, student activity observation sheets, tests (pre-test and post-test), and motivation questionnaires. The results of the study showed that learning with snakes and ladders media with a research instrument percentage of 91% was in the "Very low" category with the results of the N-Gain test showing an increase of 0.4086 in the "Medium" category. Based on these data, snakes and ladders media has proven to be potentially effective in increasing motivation and providing a positive impact on student learning outcomes in algebra material. Thus, snakes and ladders media can be used as an innovative alternative in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines continuance intention to use artificial intelligence in higher education by integrating system quality, self efficacy in artificial intelligence usage, and artificial intelligence literacy into a post adoption technology acceptance framework. The study clarifies whether sustained use is driven more by technical and usability related evaluations than by literacy alone. Design/methods/approach – A quantitative cross sectional survey was conducted with 324 undergraduate students from the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education and Computer Engineering study programs at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4. Findings – Self-efficacy in artificial intelligence usage significantly affected artificial intelligence literacy (β = 0.447, p < 0.001), system quality significantly affected perceived ease of use (β = 0.733, p < 0.001) and perceived usefulness (β = 0.266, p < 0.001), perceived ease of use significantly affected perceived usefulness (β = 0.502, p < 0.001), and perceived usefulness significantly affected continuance intention (β = 0.637, p < 0.001). Artificial intelligence literacy did not significantly affect perceived usefulness (β = 0.072, p = 0.093). Research implications/limitations – The findings are limited by the cross-sectional design, self-reported data, and the focus on two technology-oriented study programs in one university. Originality/value – This study contributes a focused post-adoption explanation of sustained artificial intelligence use by showing that continuance is shaped more strongly by system performance and perceived academic value than by artificial intelligence literacy alone.
