Abstract

Mass media broadcasting has a strategic role in shaping public opinion and disseminating information widely. In the perspective of Islamic communication, broadcasting not only functions as a means of communication, but also as a medium to convey messages of truth that originate from the Qur'an and Sunnah. This study aims to analyze effective mass media broadcasting strategies based on the guidance of the hadiths of the Prophet. This study examines how the principles of Islamic communication, such as honesty, clarity, and aesthetics in delivering messages, can be applied in modern broadcasting to increase its impact and effectiveness. The method used is a literature review of relevant hadiths. The results of the study show that effective broadcasting must be oriented towards truth, creativity, and relevance of the message, and use methods that are appropriate to the needs of the audience. Digital technology provides great opportunities to increase audience interaction and involvement, so that messages of goodness can be delivered widely and measurably. In conclusion, the mass media broadcasting strategy based on the perspective of Islamic communication is able to produce message delivery that is not only informative, but also builds moral and spiritual values. This makes mass media broadcasting an important instrument in preaching and the formation of a better society.

Abstract

Because the world is mortal, Islam is a complete religion that is the solution to all problems. Islam regulates the way of human life based on needs and does not splurge, making enjoyment the goal of life. The Prophet warns his people not to be extravagant, greedy, or oblivious to the world. However, the emergence of a lifestyle trend makes enjoyment. Enjoyment of life and endless satisfaction is a disease. Hedonistic behaviorcauses perpetrators to be excessively consumptive without realizing that if their income sources are limited, the impact of hedonistic actors will be wasteful, irresponsible, and in debt to the worst corruption. This paper addressed the Prophet's hadith as a solution to hedonism. Sahih (valid) hadiths are found by using the takhrj hadith method (validation) and examining its content using the taḥlīli (analytic) method by revealing the ontology, epistemology, and axiology sides. From the way of seeking sustenance and always seeking the lawful in order to benefit human life and avoid hedonistic behavior.

Abstract

The quality of online da‘wah content is a critical determinant of its effectiveness in conveying religious messages in the digital era. Its impact is highly contingent upon the faithful application of ethical principles rooted in the teachings of Islam. This study aims to identify quality standards for online da‘wah content based on the teachings of Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim. The research adopts a qualitative literature review (library research) approach, employing both normative–theological and sociological methods, and applies a thematic analysis of relevant hadith narratives. The findings indicate that quality standards for online da‘wah content, as reflected in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, comprise core values such as honesty, politeness, gentleness, friendliness, humility, moderation, exemplary behavior, refraining from slander and conflict, and fostering an optimistic outlook. The hadiths in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim underscore the vital significance of preserving the authenticity of the da‘wah message and upholding ethical standards in its delivery — a matter of utmost relevance when addressing the challenges posed by digital platforms. To ensure that online da‘wah has a constructive and meaningful impact in nurturing the faith and moral character of its audience, it must be grounded in these high moral and intellectual standards.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of the “Love-based Curriculum” initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through the perspective of the prophetic hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The research focuses on identifying, classifying, and analyzing hadiths that represent the values of love for God (ḥablum minallāh), love for fellow human beings (ḥablum minannās), love for the environment, and love for the homeland. Employing a qualitative approach through a library-based study, this research applies the method of takhrīj al-ḥadīth, followed by sanad and matan criticism to assess the authenticity of the hadiths utilized. This study is conducted to address the existing gap in the development of Islamic education curricula that explicitly draw upon prophetic traditions as primary sources of educational values. The findings reveal that out of 54 identified hadith, the majority are classified as ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) and are appropriate to serve as normative foundations for formulating a value-based curriculum centered on love. These traditions demonstrate a strong correlation with the values of tolerance, empathy, ecological responsibility, and national spirit. The results underscore the urgency of integrating prophetic teachings into the design of an Islamic education curriculum that is more holistic, transformative, and humanistic. A hadith-based Love Curriculum holds substantial potential in shaping a learning ecosystem that not only fosters intellectual excellence but also cultivates moral integrity, strengthens social harmony, and promotes the development of a robust national character.

Abstract

Adolescence is a formative stage marked by emotional instability and biological changes, creating a complex intersection between psychological and physiological development. In this context, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is not merely hormonal but also a psychosomatic response to psychosocial stressors. This study examined the relationship between perceived stress and PMS among 256 female students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Makassar, Indonesia. Using a quantitative cross-sectional design, data were collected with the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and the Shortened Premenstrual Assessment Form (SPAF). Statistical analysis using Chi-square and binary logistic regression revealed a strong association between PMS and stress (p = 0.000). The prevalence of PMS increased markedly with stress intensity, ranging from 6.7% among mildly stressed to 95.9% among severely stressed respondents. Stress emerged as a key predictor (AOR = 30.20 for moderate stress; AOR = 330.80 for severe stress), while adequate sleep and regular physical activity acted as protective factors. These findings suggest that adolescent stress manifests as embodied experiences influenced by educational and sociocultural expectations. In academically demanding and morally prescriptive environments, emotional distress often translates into somatic expressions. Thus, PMS may function as a covert form of communication an embodied narrative of unspoken emotional struggles. Effective management should therefore integrate stress reduction, menstrual health literacy, and emotional awareness, not only improving reproductive health but also validating adolescents’ psychosocial realities.

Abstract

The proliferation of hijrah groups among youth has had a significant impact, with positive outcomes such as enhanced religious understanding among teenagers and an increase in the adoption of more Islamic attire. However, this has also brought about negative consequences, including the dissemination of radical and textual interpretations, leading to conservatism. This article aims to uncover the controversy surrounding early marriage among Muslim millennials, driven by a tendency towards textual religious understanding. The research employs a qualitative method, drawing primary data from social media platforms of anti-dating millennial communities and online Islamic organizations in Indonesia. Secondary data were sourced from books, journals, and other relevant articles. The research findings indicate that controversy arises from the selection of hadith texts and differing interpretation methods. Anti-dating communities use motivational hadiths to support early marriage, employing a literal textual understanding related to sexual motivation, religious and individual piety, the vision of a happy family, emulation of the Prophet's marriage, and assurance of sustenance from Allah. Conversely, scholars use hadiths to reject early marriages with contextual understanding. The disregard of the youth for the views of scholars opposing early marriage indicates a shift in religious authority among Muslim millennials from traditional figures to influencers popular on social media. Early marriage reflects the hybridization of the religious identity of Muslim millennials, maintaining religious values while remaining trendy and cool. The re-reading of hadiths is conducted by examining the social-historical context and contemporary circumstances within the discourse of modernity.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) understand the reality of the flexing phenomenon on social media; (2) examine its impact on students of UIN Alauddin Makassar; and (3) analyze it from the perspective of Maqāṣid Sharīʿah. Using a field research method with phenomenological and theological approaches, this study explores students' subjective experiences and the relevance of Maqāṣid Sharīʿah, particularly in maintaining religion (hifz al-Din), life (hifz an-Nafs), intellect (hifz al-Aql), lineage (hifz an-Nasl), and wealth (hifz al-Mal). The primary data sources are 10 postgraduate students and 8 undergraduate student representatives from each faculty, selected through purposive sampling, complemented by an interview survey of 39 students. Data were analyzed by reducing negative impacts and mapping behaviors, effects on actors, and effects on others, followed by verification for validity and reliability. The results show that flexing on social media is controversial, causing more harm than benefit, with cases linked to fraud, corruption, and even loss of life. Among UIN Alauddin Makassar students, flexing leads to insecurity, social pressure, and self-comparison, though a few view it as motivational. From the Maqāṣid Sharīʿah perspective, excessive flexing conflicts with values of simplicity, family morals, and prudent wealth management. This research highlights the need for ethical and moral awareness in social media use, urging young people to align online behavior with Islamic teachings through the framework of Maqāṣid Sharīʿah.
