Abstract

This article discusses ontology design for modern learning environments and modern pedagogy using Protégé software. Library research methodology is used to formulate an ontology that reflects the structure, relationships and properties of modern learning entities. This ontology serves as a formal representation that allows a better understanding of the essential elements in modern learning and the relationships between them. The ontology approach provides a clear framework for designing and developing adaptive and responsive learning environments, as well as for designing teaching strategies that suit individual needs. By using Protégé, researchers can systematically describe key concepts in modern learning, including collaborative learning methods, technology integration, and personalized learning. The results show that the resulting ontology can be a useful tool for curriculum developers and teachers to design learning experiences that are more effective and relevant to current demands.

Abstract

The ability to speak well and purposefully must be instilled in children from an early age. This is possible through the learning process at school using interesting learning methods and media according to the child's cognitive style. Because spoken language conveyed through speaking is a tool for expressing thoughts and feelings and a means of communication between humans. This will help improve children's speaking ability. This research aims to determine the differences in speaking abilities between students using the unplugged activity method and those using the beyond center and circle times (BCCT). Determine the differences in speaking ability between students with a field-dependence cognitive style and those with a field-independence cognitive style. The researcher tests the interaction between learning methods and cognitive style regarding speaking ability. This research uses an experimental design. The subjects were PGRI Jambon Kindergarten students (TK B1) and (TK B2) who studied the theme of Animals, totaling 44 children. The cognitive style was measured using a questionnaire based on the Children Embedded Figure Test (CEFT). Data analysis of relationships and interactions between variables used the two-way ANOVA test. The research results show that differences influence speaking ability between students using unplugged activity learning and BCCT. Some differences influence the student’s speaking abilities with a field-independence cognitive style and those with a field-dependence cognitive style. There is an interaction between learning methods and cognitive style regarding speaking ability.

Abstract

Creative and critical thinking are two very important abilities to 21st Century. Previous mobile-based assessments have been carried out, but nothing has been used to measure creative and critical thinking. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used to see the acceptability of mobile-based assessments for creative and critical thinking. In this research, TAM is used at the prototype stage, where it is important to see the initial response of prospective users. One external variable is added to the main TAM version, namely Skill to use a smartphone. The sample of this research was 71 Informatics Engineering students. The results obtained are: (1) Mobile-based assessment for creative and critical thinking can be accepted by prospective users, (2) Skill to use a smartphone can be ignored, considering that this variable is not significant for acceptance. In other words, even though their skills are low or high, participants will still accept technology, (3) Perceived Ease to Use must be of concern because this variable is the one that has the greatest influence in the acceptance model. How to design applications that are clear, easy to understand, and have a good interaction experience will drive user acceptance.

Abstract

Creative and critical thinking are the two abilities required to grasp the opportunities and to upper-hand the challenges in the current digital era. Both complement each other. However, the assessments that involved both aspects of ability in one package are relatively limited. Further exploration is needed to develop new assessment model. The construction of the model begins with literary studies, develop, and try out the model. There are six constructions composed as the procedural framework, and another one for creative thinking: (C1) Parse, (C2) Deviate, and (C3) Modify, while the ones for critical thinking are : (C4) Verify, (C5) Compare, and (C6) Conclude. There are three assessment models that were feasible to be developed which refers to the 6 sub-variables: Self-Assessment, Multitype Objective Test, dan Problem Solving Case Study. The models have been tested on 32 informatics students, Hasnur Polytechnic, Indonesia. It turned out that the problem solving case study was no longer reliable, the best option were only Self-Assessment and Multitype Objective Test. The findings show that with Kruskal Wallis there are significant differences detected based on the assessment results among the models. So Multitype Objective Test is considered to be the best option.

Abstract

Spirituality in education has recently become an interesting topic and discussion in the field, demanding theory, practice, and even appreciation and real action. Education in Indonesia, especially religious education and Spirituality, as early as possible becomes the foundation and dimension of life with a fragmented understanding of experience and encounters with religious traditions. This article aims to investigate students’ understandings, both theory and perception, of Spirituality and religious education in the context of education. In-depth, structured, and semi-structured interviews were conducted for 120 students using a qualitative research design. They were led in this situation by using a Google form as a lens to gauge their comprehension of the research focus. The research results have shown some points. First, Spirituality and religious education are ill-defined abstract concepts. Second, there is a correlation between Spirituality and religious instruction. Third, religion and Spirituality are like an esophagus, an oasis in the digital age. Spirituality and religious education are polarized contextually.
