Abstract

In the current digital era, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are becoming increasingly important in everyday life, especially in the industrial era 4.0. One way to develop this ability is to use computational Thinking methods (CT). This research aims to test the effect of direct instruction strategy, integrated computational thinking, and prior knowledge on elementary schools' critical thinking and problem-solving skills in Heat and Changes in Science. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. This research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidyah Ar-Rahmah Samarinda, involving 58 research subjects. The research instrument includes a prior knowledge test and critical thinking and problem-solving skills. To test the prerequisites for analysis using the normality test and homogeneity. Data analysis was used to test the research hypothesis using parametric statistics Tow Way MANOVA analysis technique. The research results show that (1) There are significant differences in critical thinking skills between groups of students who use computational learning and direct learning methods instructions; (2) critical thinking skills between groups of students with high prior knowledge are significantly from low prior knowledge; (3) There is no interaction between computational thinking and prior knowledge on students' critical thinking skills; (4) There are significant differences in problem-solving skills between groups of students who use computational learning and direct learning instructions; (5) The problem-solving skills of students with high prior knowledge is significantly different with low prior knowledge; (6) There is interaction between computational thinking and prior knowledge on students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi strategi untuk meningkatkan keterserapan kerja mahasiswa Teknologi Pendidikan dengan memperkuat identitas profesional mereka sebagai perancang instruksional. Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Tindakan, penelitian ini melibatkan tiga fase: analisis, desain, dan implementasi, untuk mengembangkan dan menyelenggarakan bootcamp pameran digital. Enam puluh peserta dari tiga universitas di Indonesia mengikuti program online selama seminggu yang menekankan pengembangan keterampilan praktis, termasuk penggunaan sistem manajemen pembelajaran, alat authoring, dan pembuatan portofolio digital. Pelatihan ini berfokus pada pengembangan kompetensi branding digital dan kemampuan desain instruksional melalui pendekatan reflektif dan berbasis kinerja. Evaluasi pra- dan pasca-pelatihan, serta penilaian portofolio, menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kepercayaan diri peserta, komunikasi profesional, dan kesiapan untuk memasuki peran desain instruksional. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa intervensi yang kontekstual dan berorientasi pada praktik dapat menjembatani kesenjangan antara persiapan akademik dan ekspektasi industri, terutama di pasar yang sedang berkembang. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada diskusi tentang menyelaraskan pendidikan desain instruksional dengan tuntutan tenaga kerja di era digital

Abstract

Artificial intelligence offers teachers the opportunity to improve English-language skills among vocational high school students, enabling them to compete globally. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of AI-based voice chatbots through a systematic literature review. Following the PRISMA protocol, 16 articles were comprehensively analyzed after rigorous screening of 374 studies from the Scopus and ScienceDirect databases. The findings revealed a diverse range of platforms, with Duolingo dominating as the primary learning medium. The integration of voice chatbots has been shown to significantly improve students' oral performance, particularly in pronunciation, grammatical accuracy, coherence, and fluency. This improvement in speaking skills is driven by automated feedback based on repeated practice. AI-based chatbots have also been shown to increase motivation by enhancing Willingness to Communicate (WTC) and learning enjoyment through gamification elements and a non-judgmental interaction environment. Practically, vocational high school teachers are advised to integrate AI as a partner in authentic communication simulations. The study recommends learning designs that combine instant AI feedback with specific scenarios to create an adaptive and low-stress learning ecosystem.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted education, causing learning loss due to reduced teacher-student interaction during distance learning. Digital methods often failed to improve engagement and outcomes due to remote monitoring difficulties. A hybrid learning approach integrating offline and online methods was introduced, supported by an Artificial Intelligence Camera Controller (AICC), allowing 50% of students in-person participation while others joined online. This study investigated AICC-supported hybrid learning's impact on student engagement and mathematics outcomes using a quasi-experimental 2x3 factorial design with non-equivalent control groups. The participants of this study consisted of an experimental group of 64 students and a control group of 62 students. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and tests, analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA. Results showed AICC-supported hybrid learning significantly improved outcomes compared to hybrid learning without AICC. Findings revealed: (1) no significant difference between high and medium engagement students; (2) no significant difference between medium and low engagement students; (3) significant differences between high and low engagement students. AICC-supported hybrid learning effectively enhances engagement and academic performance, offering a promising post-pandemic educational strategy. Teachers should adopt this method for improved student competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the learning experiences of vocational high school students in using TikTok as a microlearning medium for computer systems. The study aims to identify the factors that support or inhibit this process. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 10th-grade students at a vocational high school in Surakarta. Data analysis was conducted thematically based on three aspects: Cognitive Strategies, Efforts, and Metacognitive Strategies. The results indicate that using TikTok in learning provides a positive learning experience. This positive outcome is due to TikTok's concise, visual, and easily accessible content. Students can learn independently through short videos, create summaries, engage in peer discussions, and manage their study time. Inhibiting factors also include distractions from non-educational content and the videos' limited depth of information. In conclusion, TikTok has the potential to be an effective microlearning platform for vocational high school students, particularly for learning computer systems. The implications of this study's findings fill a gap in the literature, particularly regarding TikTok-based microlearning for productive subjects in vocational education.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan ketahanan pangan pada komunitas Social Worker dan penyandang disabilitas. Responden penelitian ini adalah remaja pekerja sosial dan anak-anak penyandang disabilitas di Yayasan Bhakti Luhur, Kota Malang. Berdasarkan observasi awal, responden memiliki lahan yang potensial namun belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan sehari-hari. Jenis penelitian Adalah kualitatif dan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Community Action Research (CAR) dengan siklus PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act). Intervensi yang dilakukan adalah dengan membangun sistem akuaponik, yaitu sistem budidaya ikan dan tanaman secara terpadu. Melalui penerapan Teknologi Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) dalam sistem akuaponik, diharapkan dapat menghasilkan produk pangan yang segar dan bergizi secara berkelanjutan. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui survey dan wawancara mendalam dengan responden kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden memberikan respon positif terhadap penerapan sistem akuaponik. Mereka optimis bahwa dengan sistem ini, ketahanan pangan asrama dapat diwujudkan setiap tiga bulan sekali. Selain itu, responden juga berencana untuk menjual hasil budidaya ikan untuk menambah pendapatan asrama. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan model ketahanan pangan berbasis komunitas, khususnya bagi kelompok rentan seperti remaja pekerja sosial dan anak-anak penyandang disabilitas. Tanaman berdaun dapat dipanen setiap usia empat bulan dan ikan dapat dipanen setiap usia lima bulan. Jenis ikan Lele (Oreochromis niloticus) lebih kuat dibandingkan ikan Nila (Clarias scopoli) dalam projek ini karena dipengaruhi oleh pH dan suhu air. Penerapan sistem akuaponik tidak hanya meningkatkan ketersediaan pangan yang sehat, tetapi juga memberikan kesempatan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan dan pendapatan ekonomi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' physics problem-solving skills through project-based learning integrated with ethnophysics. The research employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest. The participants consisted of 52 eleventh-grade science students at SMAN 2 Manokwari. The instrument used was a physics problem-solving skills test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that students' initial problem-solving skills were in the very low category. After implementing an ethnophysics-integrated project-based learning approach, changes in students' abilities were observed, as indicated by shifts in the distribution of ability levels. The paired-samples t-test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Thus, an ethnophysics-integrated project-based learning approach has the potential to support the development of students' physics problem-solving skills and to serve as a contextual and innovative alternative to learning

Abstract

The development of learning social network applications or features makes it possible to develop collaborative activities, making it easier for individuals in groups to communicate. NCL combines technology where social media and web technology are used to support relationships between learners, learning resources and learning communities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of NCL on concept understanding. The method used was descriptive quantitative approach with quasi experimental design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 158 PGSD students at Tadulako University. Data collection techniques through tests in the form of pre-test and post-test statements of learning outcomes of concept understanding. The results of hypothesis testing showed that there was no significant difference in learning outcomes of concept understanding between the group taught with the networked collaborative learning strategy and the group that learned with discussion. The results of this study found that NCL applied did not affect the concept understanding of learners. Thus, NCL has not been proven to be more effective than conventional in the context of concept learning in this study
