Abstract

The dwindling number of active cooperatives in Indonesia suggests the urgency of a revival effort, such as increasing involvement through better integration of youth in cooperative business operations. As one of the important groups, university students should be considered in sustaining and reviving the development of the cooperative system. This study investigates the factors affecting the engagement of students in cooperatives by identifying the effects of financial literacy, benefits perception, trust in the cooperative management system, and social norms, as well as the mediating effect of information exposure and the moderating effect of risk propensity. To achieve its objectives, this study used a quantitative explanatory research method through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-PLS). Data were obtained from 404 undergraduate students using an online questionnaire. The results showed that the level of students' cooperation engagement was significantly affected by social norms and benefit perception. It means that social influence and the recognition of benefits should receive special attention in fostering participation in cooperative activities. Besides, financial literacy only has a direct impact on students' information exposure and does not significantly affect students' engagement. Moreover, trust and risk propensity have no significant effect, nor does the moderation of risk propensity.

Abstract

Students’ learning interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) often tends to be low when the learning process is dominated by conventional teaching methods that provide limited interaction and engagement. The integration of digital learning media and play-based learning approaches is considered a promising strategy to create more engaging and participatory classroom environments. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Kahoot application based on play-based learning to improve students’ learning interest in Islamic Religious Education. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design involving 35 students of class XI.4 at State Senior High School 4 Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Data were collected through participatory observation, open-ended interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the integration of Kahoot with play-based learning strategies significantly increased students’ participation and engagement in PAI learning. Participation increased from 20% in the pre-cycle stage to 77.14% in Cycle I, although it decreased to 62.86% in Cycle II due to technical constraints and student absenteeism. Overall, the learning process became more interactive and students showed greater enthusiasm toward the subject. Therefore, the implementation of Kahoot-based play learning can support the improvement of students’ learning interest in Islamic Religious Education. Future learning practices are recommended to strengthen technological infrastructure and classroom management to optimize the effectiveness of digital game-based learning.

Abstract

Sandy soil is characterized by a coarse texture, low organic content, low water-holding capacity, and rapid leaching. Soil amendments are usually applied to improve soil physicochemical characteristics, but their effects are only short-term. Subsurface hybrid ameliorant layering has been proposed as a means to reduce leaching in sandy soils. This study evaluated the leaching responses to subsurface hybrid ameliorant placement within the soil, using a soil column experiment with two factors: kinds of HLU (Homogeneous Land Unit) as the first factor, which consisted of eight HLUs, and ameliorant placement treatments as the second factor, which consisted of control treatment, conventional placement, and subsurface placement. The leaching response parameters were cumulative leachate volume and the differences in organic carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus concentrations between the upper and bottom layers. The results showed that subsurface placement can reduce the cumulative leachate volume and increase N concentration in the upper layer after the incubation period, but did not significantly affect organic carbon or phosphorus availability in either layer. The application of this treatment resulted in different responses among HLUs, which were influenced by the natural physicochemical characteristics of the soil.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how green accounting practices are constructed as a social reality within organizations and how environmental awareness develops through social interaction, organizational values, and culture. The research adopts an interpretive qualitative approach within the social construction paradigm (Berger & Luckmann, 1966). Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in organizations that have implemented sustainability reporting. The analysis employed an interpretive thematic approach to uncover the meanings underlying environmental accounting practices. The findings indicate that green accounting functions not only as a technical reporting instrument but also as a mechanism for shaping organizational moral and ecological awareness. Environmental awareness is constructed through three main stages: the externalization of sustainability values by leadership, objectivation through policies and reporting systems, and internalization within work behavior and organizational culture. Participatory, reflective, and innovation-oriented organizational cultures strengthen the substantive implementation of green accounting, whereas bureaucratic structures tend to produce symbolic practices or greenwashing. Theoretically, this study reinforces the view that accounting is a social practice that both shapes and is shaped by collective consciousness (Hopwood, 1992; Gray, 2010). Practically, the findings highlight the importance of visionary leadership and social learning spaces in fostering a sustainability-oriented organizational culture. Thus, green accounting is understood as a social process that plays a strategic role in realizing ethical, sustainable, and environmentally responsible organizations.
