Abstract

The community service program in the form of al-banjari training for TPQ santri in Kedungbogo village aims to preserve and develop traditional Islamic musical arts among the younger generation, namely al-banjari. Al-banjari is a form of tambourine musical art, which has an important role in efforts to strengthen religious and cultural values in society. Usually TPQ students in Kedungbogo village use al-banjari as a herding tool during the evening Lailatus Sholawat activities. However, the lack of understanding in innovating rhythm and tone makes al-banjari activities felt less effective, and there is also a lack of trainers in carrying out al-banjari exercises. This training involves TPQ students in Kedungbogo village who have an interest in the tambourine musical art instrument. The training methods used include the caramah method and coaching. The results of the al-banjari training showed an increase in understanding of playing al-banjari using the tambourine musical instrument and by making a guidebook containing the al-banjari formula. It is hoped that the success of this training will be an inspiration for other students to be enthusiastic about preserving and developing traditional Islamic musical arts.

Abstract

This research is historical research that explores the role of KH. Uso in establishing and developing Islamic education in Muslim minority areas in Southwest Papua, especially in Sorong City, through the stages of heuristic, criticism, interpretation and historiography. KH. Uso as a pioneer of Islamic education was commissioned by the Ministry of Religion in 1965, KH. Uso faced significant challenges in establishing Islamic educational institutions in the midst of the Christian majority. Using Ibn Khaldun's Ashabiyah theory, this research analyzes the social solidarity between the indigenous and migrant Muslim communities, which has become a significant force in the development of Islamic education in Papua. In addition, state support the Papua Special Autonomy policy and contribution from organizational networks such as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah also accelerated the process of Islamic education in the region. KH Uso succeeded in establishing various Islamic education institutions, such as PGAN, MI Annur YAPIS, STAIS Al Hikma, and STAIN Sorong, which provided access to formal Islamic education that was previously very limited. The results of this research show that although socio-political challenges and limited resources became obstacles, strong social solidarity and state support managed to overcome these difficulties. The thriving Islamic education in West Papua makes an important contribution to reducing the education gap between Muslims and the Christian majority and improving the overall quality of education.

Abstract

Social phenomena such as childfree, waithood, and unmarried women indicate a shift in societal views on marriage. The increasing role of women in the workforce in Sambogunung Village has resulted in a decrease in the number of marriages, with many women choosing to postpone marriage in order to achieve financial independence and develop themselves. This shift in the perspective of the more educated younger generation indicates that marriage is no longer seen as an end in itself, but rather as a decision that should be made based on readiness and mutual agreement. Although marriage is still considered important from a social and religious perspective, challenges arise related to family and community stability, including imbalances in gender interactions. On the other hand, this phenomenon also creates opportunities to build more balanced families, where couples can support each other in financial management and domestic responsibilities. Therefore, supporting women in achieving career success is crucial, so that harmonious family values can be maintained and society can adapt to these changes without losing its identity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the factors that influence the effectiveness of supervision in education, focusing on various theories of supervision such as clinical, formal, reflective, and transformational supervision. Using a qualitative research design with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in several schools. Thematic analysis was used to identify the main themes from the data obtained. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of supervision is influenced by the quality of communication between supervisors and teachers, a clear understanding of the purpose of supervision, and the competence of supervisors in providing constructive feedback. A supportive school context and culture are also very important for teacher professional development. A supervision approach that is tailored to the specific needs of schools and teachers has been shown to be effective in improving the quality of teaching and student learning outcomes. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of a holistic approach to supervision to achieve overall improvements in the quality of education. Recommendations for further research include longitudinal studies and exploration of the use of technology in supervision to support further teacher professional development.

Abstract

This article explores legal accountability for flood disasters occurring in several regions of Sumatra, which are widely alleged to result from large-scale logging activities. The analysis is conducted within the framework of the Indonesian legal system, with particular emphasis on contract law. This study adopts a literature-based research method by examining statutory provisions, legal doctrines, and relevant scholarly publications. The analysis demonstrates that flood events should not be understood solely as natural occurrences, but rather as ecological consequences arising from the failure to fulfill contractual obligations embedded in forest utilization permits. From a contract law perspective, forestry concessions establish binding legal relationships that impose environmental protection duties on permit holders in accordance with the principle of pacta sunt servanda. Logging activities that exceed authorized limits may therefore be classified as contractual default (wanprestasi) and, at the same time, constitute unlawful acts that cause harm to the state and affected communities. Accordingly, this study underscores the necessity of strengthening environmental protection clauses within concession agreements and applying strict liability principles to enhance legal responsibility and prevent recurring environmental harm.

Abstract

The proliferation of digital technology presents unique opportunities and challenges for the civic and philanthropic engagement of Muslim Millennials and Generation Z. This study aims to map the emerging forms of their digital participation, with a focus on the negotiation between the logic of digital platforms and Islamic socio-religious values. Employing a qualitative library research method, this paper systematically analyzes scholarly literature to explore how religious principles such as ukhuwah (solidarity) and ummah (community) are adapted within digital spaces. Findings indicate that Muslim youth are not passive consumers of technology; rather, they actively create hybrid practices, such as #SedekahOnline campaigns, faith-based crowdfunding, and virtual volunteering, that integrate digital efficiency with spiritual obligations like zakat and sadaqah. Religious values serve as a key motivator for digital philanthropy. However, challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, the commodification of religion, and infrastructural inequality. The study concludes that fostering meaningful digital participation requires social engineering that interconnects technology, critical digital education, and Islamic ethics. By centering cultural-religious dimensions in the analysis, this research addresses a gap in existing literature and provides a more contextualized understanding of youth engagement in the digital age.

Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential 21st-century skill that plays a significant role in mathematics learning, especially when students encounter non-routine problems. Unfortunately, learning practices still predominantly use routine questions that emphasize algorithmic procedures, limiting students’ opportunities to develop their creative potential. This study aims to analyze the types of creative thinking students employ when solving non-routine mathematical problems and to describe their cognitive characteristics. Using an exploratory qualitative approach and a case study design, the research involved 108 eighth-grade students, with three representative subjects selected for analysis through written tests and in-depth interviews. The findings reveal variations in students’ creative thinking in solving non-routine math problems. Most (48.15%) are replicative, imitating solutions with limited flexibility; 37.96% are adaptive, adjusting strategies to context; and 13.89% are constructive, creating original solutions independently. This highlights the need for non-routine problems, creativity-based learning, and STEM integration to enhance flexibility, advanced creativity, and contextual analytical skills. The study contributes by demonstrating how non-routine problems and creativity-focused, STEM-integrated learning can cultivate diverse creative thinking types, enhance cognitive flexibility, and foster students’ ability to generate original, contextually informed solutions in mathematics education.

Abstract

The high number of students who do not continue their higher education is a problem for Islamic boarding schools, especially in improving the quality of human resources. One of the reasons is the lack of social support, lack of motivation to learn, and lack of leadership oriented towards student development. This study aims to analyze the influence of social support and servant leadership on students' learning motivation and its impact on their interest in continuing higher education. This study uses a quantitative approach with the SmartPLS-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to students at one of the Salafi Islamic boarding schools. The results of the study show that social support has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation and interest in continuing higher education. Servant leadership also has a positive and significant influence on students' motivation to learn. However, learning motivation does not significantly affect students' interest in pursuing higher education, which indicates that there are other factors that are more dominant in influencing students' decisions. In addition, the interaction between social support and servant leadership on learning motivation did not show a significant effect. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of increasing social support and the implementation  of servant leadership in pesantren in order to build an environment conducive to increasing students' motivation to learn and interest in continuing their education to a higher level.
